Or this one I've a feeling I might be able to make that for less than a fiver using some bin liners.

Stropperella · 10/11/2015 15:27

(damn you, Crem, for providing another source of procrastinatory entertainment Grin )

bigTillyMint · 10/11/2015 15:28

Too short for me Nan-chic StroppsWink

Stropperella · 10/11/2015 15:49

I don't think I can rock ironic Nan-chic. I will just look a bit too... authentic. Grin

I'm developing a complex about how crinkly I must look, after all the surprised looks I got yesterday at my potential new workplace when I said I had a 10 year old ds. Hmm

herbaceous · 10/11/2015 16:04

Oh man, Stropps, ditto. When I say I'm off to collect my son they say 'why, how old is he?', no doubt expecting me to say '30'. I say 'six', and they nearly swallow their tongues.

hattymattie · 10/11/2015 16:46

Really enjoyed London Spy apart from rather rampant sex scene. Is the lover chopped up in the trunk then?

Rosebag · 10/11/2015 18:01

I have to admit I'm drawn in to London Spy and will have to watch until the end...I have renamed it 50 Shades of Gay.... Grin

Cremo · 10/11/2015 18:24

Yes, Dh had to look away from writhing bums. I was giggling at him behind my teacup.
Yes I assume that part of the story is like that of the very unfortunate M16 operative who was found in a zipped up suitcase.

The house is Dust City after the Spark has drilled out the wall. Geurgh. Another day of it tomorrow.Shock
Even the cat is sneezy

BeachysFlipFlops · 10/11/2015 18:28

I reckon electricians are the worst for mess. Even plasterers seem to manage to contain their muck. What is London Spy? I don't have anything other than free view. Am I likely to have access?

Cremo · 10/11/2015 18:30

BBC2 Beachy. Proper Drama like.

BeachysFlipFlops · 10/11/2015 18:30

Spoke too soon. Found it... Will download for my next commute or is it too much for a Monday morning at 630am?

hattymattie · 10/11/2015 18:31

Crem - my DH was similarly revolted Grin.

Herbs - how old were your ferals? Sounds totally scary.

I have had a note from parent saying that their reading level was too easy - yet when they read to me they can barely sound out the letters!

herbaceous · 10/11/2015 18:32

This is the most first-world problem ever, but I STILL can't decide what I want for my birthday from my family. They're offering me something for £250. All I can think of is a dressing gown (Toast has some lovely ones). It needs to be something permanent, rather than a jaunt or a slap-up meal or even the latest trendy outfit, and can't be anything cashmere as the moths would eat it up. It also can't be jewellery as DP wants to buy me that.

Ridic.

bigTillyMint · 10/11/2015 18:55

The dressing gown is probably a good plan then. Or is it also likely to be eaten by moths?
New bag?

Top tips. A nice big bag for carrying my teaching materials in would be good.

And 'original artwork' is on the list - though I tend to not know what I want, in that regard, until I see it.

motherinferior · 10/11/2015 20:48

Writhing bums, eh? I shall tune in.

Auriga · 10/11/2015 22:43

Herbs, good briefcase? Lockable for carrying marking etc?

MrsSchadenfreude · 10/11/2015 22:53

Or a Longchamp pliage in leather?

Lalsy · 10/11/2015 23:46

Herbs, something(s) from the V and A shop? They have some gorgeous stuff. Or your favourite print, framed (know what you mean about original artwork)? New bedlinen? The Thing that has given me most pleasure in recent years is....my sun lounger Grin.

NUFC69 · 11/11/2015 07:20

I think I would probably go for a bag or briefcase type thingy for work, Herbs. I am so sorry to hear about your poor DN. That's awful. When is it your birthday?

On brighter news, my DNephew's wife gave birth to a healthy baby girl yesterday after having to have, I think, three terminations over the last couple of years because the babies were so badly damaged. So pleased for them.

How are you today, MI?

motherinferior · 11/11/2015 08:47

Oh, NU, that's lovely. And thank you for asking - am distinctly better though still a bit ropey. DP still in grumpy grip of manflu, and takes everything I say personally. I tried saying sympathetically that I know today is rough for him as it's the anniversary of his mum's death - indeed it must be the 10th - but then he declared he hadn't even thought of it so my attempt at a caring tone---- was wasted.

Cremo · 11/11/2015 08:55

Has the back settled a little MI?

Congratulations on new great nephew( is that right? I am useless at family relationship names) was wondering how the tongue tie op went for dgc NU? Hope well. Poor wee mite.

More dust and drill here today. Filth is everywhere, despite having removed and covered furniture , the dust has clung on. My skin feels suffocated with it.
I wonder if I can leave them to it today rather than be trapped in the office. Wwyd?

Cremo · 11/11/2015 08:57

Btw, a Lonchamp Pliage sounds like some sort of leg strain, that would need looked at by a sports physio or something. And stretch......Grin
