I need a going out top

I'm going out for a few drinks with my friends for my birthday next weekend and I need a top. I am not very stylish and terrible at dressing to go out. We're going out in my village - ex Yorkshire pit/mill village - so not super cutting edge. If this top could double up for Christmas too, that would be awesome. I am normally a denim/stripey Tee kind of dresser, but feel a bit of glam might be called for, although I am normally the total opposite of footballer's wife glam. I wear very little make up, and my hair is too curly to "do". (I don't straighten it as it is naturally very coarse, dry and brittle).

I'll be 45 this week (), size 14, 5'8", curvy, mum tum. Fairish hair, blue eyes. Love silver colour , hate gold.

I was planning to wear jeans that I already have and boots very similar to these, which I also already own.

Being a country bumpkin with a preschooler, mail order would be best!

Budget - I suppose up to around £40.

I don't like the Phase 8 one at all, sorry. It's too frilly/embelished/OTT - I am not really sure of the word I want, it's just too much.

I quite like the Next one, although asymmetric waists/hems make my teeth itch, and it's a bit plain....

Oh and Phase 8 tops are always too short for me, they don't reach my waist. My midriff is not for bare-ing.

Ooh margarita, I love that first oasis top. I'm a 12 with big boobs & I find medium in oasis just fits.

I'm a big Oasis shopper and am a booby size 14, but shorter than you. I would say you'd be fine in a M in that style. Although equally you'd be fine in an L if you'd rather be cautious.
