More 'style' than 'health' imo.

Can you tell me whether you are pleased with it or not? Would you do it again? Is there you didn't know but wished you had?

Hoolagirl, tell me more. Was it under or over the muscle, how big, how long before they stopped being swollen?

No, but I'd love to!

One of my best pals had one. In Denver, Colorado.

The surgeon performed it from her belly button.

She actually had two. One to go from an A cup to a C and another to go from a C to a D.

A D looks fab on her b/c she is tall and of medium build, so it's in proportion to her frame.

She doesn't regret it at all!

I know four people that have either a reduction or enlargement, none of them have had any problems.

Im thinking it may be like childbirth where you hear all the horror stories

hoolagirl · 11/12/2006 14:30

Hi, got overs, 410cc high profile.
No swelling, I think they have dropped as much as they're going to now.
Only time I was in pain was when they woke me up in the recovery room, they quickly gave me pain relief, after that took paracetomol for a few days and was fine, though no heavy lifting for a couple of weeks.
I used this site www.justbreastimplants.com and found it realy useful, especially the forum where you can talk to loads of people who have had it done. HTH

Yep had mine done March 2004, after finished bf ds2 boobs had sagged and disappered, i was really unhappy with them. Love my new boobs, 36d, no scars as they were inserted through nipple, and they are under the muscle, pain for a few days after, felt like a elephant had sat on my chest, but no probs at all after or since. Only downside because they wentin through the nipple my sensation there is not very good but they look fab

feelingfedup · 11/12/2006 15:43

Yes, I had a boob job done about 10 years ago in London. Fantastic job, no problems, scars or after effects. Had it done by top surgeon - he is often on UK 'extreme makeover'.

Mine were inserted under the arm. I went from a 32a cup to a 34d cup. Only had pain after coming round from the operation - more painful than having a baby in my opinion, but only for the first day.

Had a nose job done about 5 years ago too. Went abroad for this, (did lots of research first on who and where) and again, had no problems at all, except for looking like a road crash victim for a week or two.

Just thinking about having a tummy tuck & face lift next............

WonderCod · 11/12/2006 15:44

but you are still fed up?

feelingfedup · 11/12/2006 15:46

feelingfedup · 11/12/2006 15:47

Hello wondercod - yse, I'm fedup, but not about my boobies!

ernest · 11/12/2006 16:48

feeling fed up - don't you need to get them changed though?
Honestly, If I knew it was a one off thing and that would be it for ever and ever I think I'd do it, but it's having to have new ones every few years really makes it prohibitive for me. My boobs are definitely my worst body part. By a long way.

hoolagirl · 11/12/2006 17:22

Ernest, there is no reason to get your boobs redone unless there is a complication. Some people have had the same implants for 30 years or more, like any surgery there is always risk of complication.
check out the website i mentioned earlier, there is loads of info on there and you can ask any question and get a response from women who have had it done.

poppiesinalinewithtinsel · 11/12/2006 18:07

I used to be a medical secretary for a Plastic Surgeon (on NHS and private) Echo advice re: checking surgeon out via BAAPS and or BAPS.

I would love to get my boobs done - have virtually nothing since having kids but I would never be brave enough to. I have seen what can happen when your body rejects them - nothing to do with how good the surgeon is or isn't.

I wish I could be brave enough though. I know a couple of friends who have had it done, had no problems and are really happy with the results.

chaoschaos · 11/12/2006 19:39

Thanks for all the posts! I'll have a look at the links. How much was it with posh surgeon feelingfedup?

chaoschaos · 11/12/2006 19:41

btw feelingfedup, imo face lifts are the least successful kind of cosmetic surgery (apart from that weird giant lip thing). That stretched look is a bit odd.

deaconblue · 11/12/2006 20:36

I would if it was a) free and b) painless. My norks are revolting post breast feeding

feelingfedup · 11/12/2006 21:21

Mine cost about 3k, but that was 10 years ago.

feelingfedup · 11/12/2006 21:23

Hoolagirl - is there a site like that for facelifts?

hoolagirl · 12/12/2006 11:03

Feelingfedup, im not sure, won't be looking for a facelift for a few years yet hopefully, there is a chat section in there for other plastic surgery procedures, a few of the girls have had other things done, they would be able to point you in the right direction. HTH.

swalesie · 12/12/2006 11:54

I would love a breast inlargement, feel so bad about how deflated and saggy my boobs are, im only 23! Thing is my boobs are a size 34/36 d/dd so im not small but they dont look full and round any more. If i had the cash to do it i would without hesitation!

peanutbutter · 12/12/2006 11:57

i had a reduction 10 years ago on NHS.

One of the best decisions i've ever made without any doubt.

donnie · 12/12/2006 14:28

oh FFS why are so many women so superficial and self obsessed? you'll be giving them to your daughters as a 16th birthday present next.

Mojomummy · 12/12/2006 16:30

superficial & obsessed ? how so ?

hoolagirl · 12/12/2006 16:49

Plastic surgery does throw up strong feelings in people either for or against it.

Some people can't understand why you would put yourself through an operation with risks just to enhance your looks. And also for many other good reasons.

It is selfish to a degree, but on the otherhand if its something that is affecting you and you have the opportunity to do something about it, then some people will opt for plastic surgery.

Noop · 12/12/2006 18:17

I had a reduction on the NHS 7 years ago. It was a big operation (they had to remove a LOT of tissue) hurt like hell afterwards (I had to have morphine - mmm!) and I was told I wouldn't be able to breast feed. But I don't regret it for an instant. I felt like such a freak before and could never get clothes to fit. I was a size 10 from the waist down and a size 18/20 in tops!! Now my breasts are a really nice shape, even though they are still quite ample, and I feel normal! The surgeon did a fantastic job.

But I'd never get anything else done. I hate the way society and the media tells us to have perfect bodys, and encourages people into eating disorders and spending lots of money on unnessesary surgery. On the other hand, I know what it is like to be unhappy with your body. Having huge tits actually made me feel less womanly so I can understand the pain of not having any. If surgery fixes the problem that's great, but it isn't an easy thing to do.
