Help me pick an eyeshadow palette

I've been browsing for a while and have narrowed it down to a few but can't decide which one to go with. I will only be purchasing 1 for now as they're on the pricey side.

Here's the ones I like the look of:

UD Naked 1 & 2
Too Faced Chocolate Bar
Too Faced Natural Eyes
Too Faced Boudoir Eyes

As well as them , I'm open to suggestions for others. As you can guess I'm looking for more 'natural' palettes with a mix of mattes and shimmers .

Unfortunately I'm hours away from the nearest shop that might stock these and other higher end stuff so can't test them at the moment, but I'm off to Cardiff in 2 weeks so can hopefully buy and test stuff then.

Or there is £10 off a £25 spend at feel unique if you order online. Will see if I can find the code.

southeastastra · 17/10/2015 09:49

I really like the naked palette and use it daily it suits me

NoExScoose · 17/10/2015 09:54

I'm a bit of an urban decay addict and have about ten of their palettes Blush the one I use most is my naked palette (the 1st one) I also have the new naked smokey palette and that's lovely although darker colours.

ExplodingCarrots · 17/10/2015 10:11

Thank you curriegirl , that would help a lot

Yeah, I am leaning more towards the naked palettes but really can't decide between 1 & 2. They really have to be worth it for £38 Shock

I have both 1 and 2 and tbh I use 1 a lot more I think the colours are more wearable

Annarose2014 · 17/10/2015 11:01

I have both. I'm working on hitting pan on every shade in N2 in 2015 actually.

It depends on what you like on your eyes. If you never ever wear greys on your eyes then you won't get full use out of N2.

Also the cream shadow on the left of N2 is really shit. And there's an orange colour that was a struggle to use. I think I prefer N1. But both still have a gold colour you'll be hard pushed to get use out of and it has to be said that there's not that many matte shades in either palette.

If you really want a decent amount of mattes, look at Smashbox Double Exposure I think its called, which has one row of mattes and one row of shimmers.

KateSpadeAddict · 17/10/2015 11:05

I have Naked 2 and love it! Theres a few matte shades in there for basic stuff and then the options for a browny smokey eye or a black/silvery smokey eye. Then theres lighter shimmers that are great for highlights/brow bones.

Can you tell that I wouldn’t be without mine!?

Annarose2014 · 17/10/2015 11:06

Also check out Stila in the Light which is a very popular palette. Just to make things more confusing!

ZacharyQuack · 17/10/2015 11:14

Too Faced Chocolate bar is more versatile than the Nakeds. It has a good mix of cooler and warmer tones, more mattes than either Naked, and red and blue tones.

There are some good tutorials here and here.

BatmanLovesMenInEyeliner · 17/10/2015 11:18

I have Laura Mercier Eye Art Artist's Palette (£45).It has a row of cool colours and a row of warm colours and I love it. They all go on well, and stay on. There are browns, peaches, nudes, purples with a good range between them.

SmashleyHop · 17/10/2015 11:23

I know you haven't mentioned it but Naked 3 is my favorite. I think it has a better day to day range that the extreme darks that come with Naked 1&2.

HellKitty · 17/10/2015 11:25

I've got Naked 3 and the smokey one. I think I use the smokey one more. Love it.

Hopefully · 17/10/2015 11:35

Just to throw another option out there, I really can't get on with palettes - I deeply resent paying for (inevitably) a couple of colours that I will never use. I'd rather buy individuals from somewhere like Mac or I think you can put together your own palette in some brands, like Bobbi Brown. But I am more of a lips than an eyes person anyway, so perhaps I am not the target market.

ExplodingCarrots · 17/10/2015 12:43

Thank you for the new suggestions !

AnnaRose- I'm glad you mentioned the Smashbox palette because I forgot I'd found a nice one. Think it was the full exposure one.

Thanx for the tutorials Zachary!

Smashleyhop - I found most of the shades in naked 3 to be too 'pinky'. I was more drawn to the colours in 1&2 but I've just bought a dupe for naked 3 to see what it's like Blush

Hopefully - I don't have any palettes, I have been treating myself now and then to individual MAC shadows and lipsticks. I just wanted something that was easy to put in a make up bag to take away instead of packing individual shadows.

Too Faced Natural and Boudoir Eyes are both excellent for travelling. Natural is warmer, Boudoir is cooler. If you like mattes, UD Basics 2 is fantastic.

Annarose2014 · 17/10/2015 14:32

Really wish I'd seen Boudoir Eyes before I bought my N2. You're more likely to use all the shades, by the looks of it. Rather than only really using 75% of the shades.

Maybe next years purchase!

Incidentally, are you anywhere near a W7 stockist? They do copies of everything. I bought the N3 copy and I'm so glad I did cos I never reach for it. Expensive mistake averted!

goodasitgets · 17/10/2015 15:14

Makeup revolution. Have a look at iconic 1, iconic 2... You can see where I'm going with this Wink
Also they have a I love chocolate range which might be very too faced (ahem)

ExplodingCarrots · 17/10/2015 15:22

Zachary - I really can't choose between them. I've got a birthday coming up ...and xmas so I'll ask for one for each occasion. I wanted a palette with mixed because I hardly use mattes. I always go for shimmery colours so wanted have something with both.

Annarose - The naked 3 dupe I've ordered is the W7 one GrinI've been looking on YouTube at swatches and reviews and I think I'll buy the N1 & 2 dupes too. All 3 for £13 Shock

Goodasitgets - Thank you for that..I'm going to have a cuppa and browse at them now.

goodasitgets · 17/10/2015 15:25

I keep thinking of more Blush
Sleek do brilliant palettes, really pigmented
Also some here http://www.muastore.co.uk/eyes/eyeshadow/palettes

jellyjiggles · 17/10/2015 15:29

I've got the revolution palette! £4 it's an absolute bargain and the shadows ares fantastic! For £4 you could get both. I use mine daily, the go on and blend well, stay put and don't crease or flake off.

Ememem84 · 17/10/2015 15:43

I'm currently using naked 2. And had decided to do like annarose and try to use it up by the end of 2015. Sadly I've had a lot of other things to use up so haven't quite got there.

I do love the naked 2 pallet though but tend to wear the same neutral tones most of the time. So will get the use out of it. Except maybe the bluey one.

I have used and loved Mac eyeshadow. I think they do a pallet.

Annarose2014 · 17/10/2015 15:46

Oh yes, Mac have come out with wee palettes now with 9 shadows in.

You might like the Amber one.

Annarose2014 · 17/10/2015 15:48

But tbh i'd go for W7 at that price. Also make sure you get the UD Basics 1 & 2 dupes too!

Oh and they also do a Charlotte Tilbury contour/highlight palette rip off homage now as well which I've had my eye on.

charlh929 · 17/10/2015 15:57

I love the naked basics palette, it's smaller than the others and a little cheaper. The colours are gorgeous though and suitable for everyday wear Smile
