Alternatives to Isabel Marant crisi boots

I need a good everyday ankle boot. I'm loving the crisi boot but I just can't justify spending that amount of money. Has anyone seen anything similar? Hidden wedge not essential.

any good?
They even have a concealed wedge.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/10/2015 13:58

I think these Asos Aloof boots are "inspired by" the Crisi boots. Not sure if they have the wedge or not :)

BlackGirlAndRobin · 15/10/2015 16:59

Ohh they look pretty good. But I've never actually bought shoes from Asos. A bit worried they'll fall apart within 6 months. Any more for any more? Grin

I've just placed an order for these beauties. And they come in about 10 different colours too!

Very nice!!!

thegoldenlemon · 16/10/2015 11:09

I've just bought the asos pair in black. Will report back on the probable dubious quality and if they are stuck together with glue that smells of fish. I never learn!

Ujjayi · 16/10/2015 11:18

ASOS boots can be great quality. I have a tan leather pair from 4 years ago that are still looking great.

thegoldenlemon · 16/10/2015 11:33

Thanks ujjayi, I can but hope. They do seem incredibly cheap. They should be with me tomorrow, I will dutifully report back!

BlackGirlAndRobin · 16/10/2015 12:38

Glue that smells of fish. Grin

Black, my topshop raincoat stank for the first month of wearing, a real horrible fishy odour! Google revealed it a common issueConfused. I had morning sickness too. Grim.

Loving this thread. I've been contemplating a pair of crisi boots but can't face the £££. I've found ASOS boots ok quality for the price (I had a couple of years wear out of my last pair), so might risk them.

Raia · 16/10/2015 15:54

I like the look of those ASOS Aloof ones ...

faustina · 16/10/2015 18:08

I've ordered some too! . Smelliest shoes I ever got were from Boden. I had to send them back as the fumes were horrible. Not fishy - chemically - as soon as you opened the box out they wafted.

PretzelPrincess · 17/10/2015 00:55

I really like the look of the aloof boots but has anyone seen anything similar in leather? I feel suede is just going to get ruined.

Hopefully · 17/10/2015 08:58

Baa. Have also ordered the aloofs, although had to go for camel as grey was OOS. If anyone is returning a size 8 pair in dark grey let me know!

Annarose2014 · 17/10/2015 11:24

Yeah, I'm sitting on my hands cos I live in the rainiest place in the world. Suede is only for admiring....

Hopefully · 17/10/2015 11:33

I wear suede in the rain quite happily - I brush and re-spray every few weeks. I so prefer the look of suede that the extra upkeep is worth it for me, but i appreciate it won't be for most people!

Raia · 17/10/2015 15:34

Ha, Hopefully, I love the look of the dark grey ones too (they look almost like a lovely shade of grey-green on my screen) and I'm a size 8 Grin

Hopefully · 17/10/2015 18:58

We clearly need to find all those size 8 bastards who have bought them all and steal their boots Grin

BlackGirlAndRobin · 17/10/2015 19:33

Size 8! How tall are you ladies?!

Keep us posted on those Aloofs. I've seen a size 4 on eBay if anyone is after a cheap pair.

OP posts:
Hopefully · 17/10/2015 19:48

5'6". I have duck feet Blush

BlackGirlAndRobin · 17/10/2015 20:08

Grin Hopefully, I was expecting you to be far taller than I am. I'm a size 7 and 5'9.

I need to start another boring thread on sleeve length for my ridiculously chimp like long arms. Fed up of cold wrists.

Raia · 17/10/2015 20:46

Hopefully, check the ASOS website - I just ordered a pair of Aloofs in dark grey for £29 and it wasn't the last pair

Raia · 17/10/2015 20:47

btw I'm 5'9" but have silly stick legs so feet look like canoes in most footwear

thegoldenlemon · 17/10/2015 21:02

My boots have arrived but are currently in my 'safe place' as I'm out. I thought the grey pair were green so ignored them but good job really as they don't have my size and I would have liked dark grey. Won't meet the boots til tomorrow - the suspense!!
