Are these shoes horrid?

Here these ones

I am really tempted. But I also need boots for the winter. And fancy a new coat. And generally speaking new shoes are a luxury item for me. Confused

I'm a SAHM and spend most of the autumn/ winter in skinny jeans and flat boots. I am not a heels wearer. Blush

So... Are these mad, start right style children's shoes, or actually rather nice and would work with jeans and skirts?

I think if you like them OP you should buy them. I wear some stuff that one of my friends roars with laughter at but I dress for me & if I love something I will wear it, regardless of what other people think

Bellyrub1980 · 19/09/2015 21:18

I like them but would never buy them because a) I'm not 'trendy' enough to pull it off and b) I have size 9 feet so I literally can't buy them (and if they made them in my size they would look like clown shoes).

I love the geeky look on other people

absolutelynotfabulous · 19/09/2015 21:21

I like them!

Suddengeekgirl · 19/09/2015 21:50

Thanks for all the replies! Probably the most I've ever had on a S&B thread! Shock :)

I'm also rather taken with these patent ones in office, which are also in the sale. :)

So I think I will need a shopping trip to go try them on. Because for me the style matters not if they aren't comfy! Grin

I have these and I love them www.drmartens.com/uk/Women%252527s-Shoes/Dr-Martens-Talliah-Shoe/p/16488600

fkatwigs · 19/09/2015 22:29

DD's very trendy teacher wears them, with a leather satchel. She is only 22/23 and doesn't look much older than the P7s Grin

The Office ones are nicer.

shutupanddance · 19/09/2015 22:31

Very 90s . Not sure

PetiteBateau · 19/09/2015 22:38

Clarks have some patent ones like that, in black or in burgundy

squoosh · 19/09/2015 22:52

I hate them. My feet would curl up in protest if they saw them approach.

Nettletheelf · 20/09/2015 00:52

CHRIST, THEY ARE HEINOUS

hiccupgirl · 20/09/2015 07:46

Love the patent ones too!

I had a gorgeous yellow pair with cut out bits in 1990 when I was 18 and I wore them to death.

Like lots of things, you either love them or hate them. If you love them, you should wear them Grin

Bellyrub1980 · 20/09/2015 08:03

I agree, what matters most is that you love them and wear them with conviction.

I must admit, I have no idea what's fashionable any more. I looked around the shops the other day and everything felt really 90's to me, and being 35, the 90's seems old fashioned in a bad way, not 'cool'. (Not that I'm cool!!)

Branleuse · 20/09/2015 19:15

I definitely do not have bunions. I have beautiful feet . Probably because I only wear sensible shoes :)

burnishedsilver · 20/09/2015 19:31

I think that someone who would love them and wear them with conviction wouldn't have to ask if they're horrid. There's obviously a doubt there so I suspect you wouldn't be happy in them.

SmugairleRoin · 20/09/2015 19:34

They are absolutely hideous!

Branleuse · 20/09/2015 21:03

NationMcKinley · 20/09/2015 21:39

Love them and now want them

EugenesAxe · 20/09/2015 23:39

Yes, you see - Branleuse has great pins and the shoes look ace.

Vixxfacee · 22/09/2015 08:03

She has great pins but they look horrible. You're not making a good case!

patienceisvirtuous · 22/09/2015 08:11

Yes, ultra horrid Grin definitely more giant toddler than cool mum.

101handbags · 22/09/2015 12:53

They're very...er...Prince George.

PrimalLass · 22/09/2015 12:59

Not keen. But I do like Salt Water sandals, which have a similar 'toddler shoes' feel, and wear Uggs all winter. So who knows.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 22/09/2015 13:08

My word, they're uglier than Uggs!
