Anything but the C-word!

Well, I don't drink much, never did and I am highly unlikely to be engaging with a pig on very many levels, now, am I? Blush Grin but I have done some moderately bad stuff in secret, no cameras involved so would presumably make the perfect politician.

Do hope the pained of leg will recover quickly Flowers to Tilly Stropps and was it your DC too, Molly? Strength to the mothers.

BD how annoying to have been removed from your office to a general desk and have the boss wheeled out to survey things. And hugs also to Cremo for the ongoing work shite.

Oh no Hatty! D and V in the house. That's all you need Flowers

Molly the actor who read Sunil was a last minute substitution as we had a no show. He did really step up to the plate. The actual couple are written as Asian East Africans but we just couldn't get any ethnically accurate actors for the reading! Addle I have and an email from said gorgeous actor with kisses phwoar. Yes, Beachy you're right…we need an agent. I am working on a few leads.

Today I am supposed to be fasting and repenting. I am not doing one of them.Blush Hmm

But I am not repenting for buying this It's so much nicer than in the photo (I think its been really badly styled) so I have eaten the stupid cost and the fact that it's viscose. mostly because I got into a 12 Today I am wearing it with a black cap sleeved scoop neck, opaques and an aubergine short jacket. Can't decide between aubergine loafers or black knee boots though.

bigTillyMint · 23/09/2015 11:07

Yes, there are many photos of me drunken in the past (infact all the photos my friends have of me at uni, I thinkBlush, but at least my indiscretions were with men, not animals of any sort!

That article is quite horrific reading, isn't it. Burning £50 notes infront of homeless people..

Hi MagiMedi!

I am feeling very sandwiched today after my visit to DM and a meeting at DD's schoolConfused

hattymattie · 23/09/2015 11:16

I cannot imagine ever being so rich that I'd burn money - the taunting of homeless is especially vile. I don't think I've even seen a £50.

Lalsy · 23/09/2015 11:40

Excellent article. Urgh, those people.

I like that skirt Rose, think it will really suit you.

How is dd finding things, BTM? Hope the meeting goes well.

Crem and BD, so glad you can both escape this weekend. I hope I can see you (trying not to ask ds 15 times a day if he can go to theatre with dh).

Cremo · 23/09/2015 11:59

I am also ore horrified by the £50 burning than the pig , actually. At least the pig incident harmed nobody except himself. I was a risk taker from an early age and no doubt some of the idiotic things I did are still remembered by people I know longer know. Photos or not, I don't know either. Certainly hasn't harmed or embarrassed me so far.BlushHmmGrin I do have a very high threshold for embarrassment anyway.

Awfully sorry about the sore of limb. Stropps I wonder if the trip to a&e has had any effect on dd? In that she might think twice about doing it again. We can only hope.Smile

Rose loving the floppy skirt, bet you look fab. I'd go for the black boots, however I am very impressed that you own an aubergine brogue.WinkWinkGrin

BD I can't believe actually I can that you have been evicted from your office. I'm sure it's only a matter of time here. I fully intend to shove a smoked mackerel down the back of the radiator if they dare.

On the bright side I am off today and variously ignoring ironing, tidying , making of beds and similar and am on the sofa watching Mr Malone and his choirs from last night. Loving it. I will Pilates later and swim this evening to make up for sloth.

Cremo · 23/09/2015 12:00

Floppy = flippy Rose!, damn you ac

bigTillyMint · 23/09/2015 12:56

Do you think it's the Public School ethos of survival (think Tom Brown's Schooldays) that schooled them in how to be so manipulative and horrible? The stuff about Thatcher knowing about their past and using it as leverage, etc. Ghastly, ghastly.

The meeting went well - HoY12 is lovely and approachable and sensible. He has sorted a plan for her, but was also quite clear that she needs to be trying to move on (which is right) and conquer her fears (easier said than done!) He also asked if she was doing enough work at home and pointed out that she should be doing 2-3 hours a night and not thinking of it as homework, but study and reading around, etc. Can she step up? Gulp.

CointreauVersial · 23/09/2015 13:14

If you want a compromising photo - I have one of our esteemed Health Secretary wearing a dress and full make-up.....

Another text from GF's DM yesterday evening, accusing DS of having used the C-word on group chat when referring to GF (and no, on this occasion, I don't mean "Corbyn" Grin). Strenuous denials from DS. Anyway, he did give GF a call last night, and I think things have settled down a little.

On a positive note, he seems to have sorted out his Work Experience for February. Working with an local independent film-maker. He's more enthused about this than I've ever seen him!

bigTillyMint · 23/09/2015 13:34

That sounds great, CV - the work experience. And that he called the ex-GF. Fingers crossed!

Lalsy · 23/09/2015 13:51

I suspect manipulative and horrible behaviour is common, BTM, and always has been, as politics will be unattractive to people who do not want to build a personal power base, and do not think their voice matters more than others. JC didn't call out his supporters strongly enough over the summer over their behaviour, IMO - online abuse is another way of keeping people in line/silent. A plague on all their houses.

That's great about HofY. ds has been told the same - he isn't doing anything like that and am not sure he knows what reading around means.

Shoes - I wear trainers nearly all the time. I would like something a bit different for rare occasions.

CV, you don't know how much I would love to use that photo. Glad things are settling down but what a rumpus!

Cremo · 23/09/2015 13:52

For those attending the cocktail element of Saturday afternoon at The Refinery , the table is booked in my married name which is the same as this gentleman
Smile

Lalsy · 23/09/2015 13:59

Crem GrinGrin

bigTillyMint · 23/09/2015 14:08

Oh yes, I will double check the booking for the tapas! I think there are 16 of us...

Cremo, I love his really old stuff and he was a pin-up in the 70's along with Blush

bigTillyMint · 23/09/2015 14:12

All good. It's booked in my RL name, if you are meeting us there.

Cremo · 23/09/2015 14:13

And this handsome chap
Somehow I have a signed photo of him, but no recollection as to how? Perhaps I won it in a 'Jackie' competitionGrin

bigTillyMint · 23/09/2015 14:18

Oh I never liked him, Cremo - too squeaky cleanGrin

Rosebag · 23/09/2015 15:23

ooohhh Tilly you obviously never saw "The David Cassidy Book" in the 70's….he wasn't so squeaky clean in that. When my DDad found out I'd bought it he tried to make me throw it away! I was a huge fan and I still have 'Rock me Baby' on vinyl.

CV gosh! Quite a saga in the demise of young love. Rarely easy. Just can't imagine how messy things get with social media/whatsapp etc thrown into the mix. Poor you. But good news about the work experience. It sounds really cool.

I love my new skirt, and I have spectacularly ripped it. Shock Yes, caught it between chairs at the religious service this morning. Angry

bigTillyMint · 23/09/2015 16:09

Oh no Rose! is it salvageable?

motherinferior · 23/09/2015 16:12

BTM, Moll and I had to deal with your first pinup for work purposes. I've been in a cab with him.

He was still gorgeous Smile

bigTillyMint · 23/09/2015 16:16
Grin
hattymattie · 23/09/2015 16:33

We're not talking about Rod here are we? I just dont get it. Also hear that DavidCassidy is bankrupt and has alcohol probs.

Cremo · 23/09/2015 16:41

Hold me close, don't let me go Grin

herbaceous · 23/09/2015 16:45

Come on silver (crepey) lady take my hand, I won't run out on you again believe me...

I have been sent my interview schedule. I have to teach 'features of character' for 25 minutes. I have no idea at what level the pupils are. Whether it's a question of simple vocab, or complex grammatical notions.

Teacher types - what does 'national curriculum level W' mean?

bigTillyMint · 23/09/2015 17:02

WTF is features of character? How old are these pupils?

W used to mean working towards Level 1 of the old NC, but I'm not sure it's used now/in the new NC.

Stropperella · 23/09/2015 17:03

I've only come across NC level W in the context of KS1 assessments. See this excerpt from the Dept Ed blurb about the same: "Pupils working towards level 1 of the national curriculum who do not have a special educational need should be reported as ‘W’ (Working below the level). This includes pupils who are working towards level 1 solely because they have English as an additional language. You should use the code ‘NOTSEN’ to explain why a pupil working towards level 1 doesn’t have P scales reported." However, if they are secondary pupils are they really working at below L1 and, er, what does "features of character" mean in that context?? Confused
