Boden: coming to a high street near you!

MorrisZapp · 16/09/2015 09:15

I read the financial pages so you don't have to :)

Yesterday's Guardian reports that Boden are in a massive upswing just now, with profits ever rising.

They have plans to open high street stores in the UK as part of their expansion but are currently v tight lipped about location.

I'm in Edinburgh and I'm pretty certain they'll open here. Anybody else living in a Bodentastic town? Streets paved with ditsy print etc?

They will never open in Glasgow thats for sure. I doubt they would do well tbh but then you never know!

YogaDrone · 16/09/2015 17:36

They used to have a shop in Reading (The Oracle) it was just there for a summer a few years ago. I think it was an outlet type place to try and sell of previous season's clothes.

Bunbaker · 16/09/2015 17:39

I very much doubt they would open in Barnsley Grin

123Jump · 16/09/2015 17:39

Just on the high street in Marlow there is The White Co., Fat Face, White Stuff, Cath Kidson, Crew, Whistles,Jigsaw, Phase Eight, Mint Velvet and Pure Collection.
Probably more but I can't think of more high street names,Grin.
Not sure they need a Boden...

confusedandemployed · 16/09/2015 17:41

Already on page 2 and no Cirencester??

Bunbaker · 16/09/2015 17:41

That's because Marlow is posh innit?

YogaDrone · 16/09/2015 17:42

...no Windsor mentioned either Smile

Merrylegs · 16/09/2015 17:45

North Norfolk for sure. Holt probs. (You can't get further than Fakenham without a black lab and a ditzy swing skirt.)

Bunbaker · 16/09/2015 17:48

Every time someone on here links to Boden I am strangely unexcited by the clothes and their £££££ prices.

squoosh · 16/09/2015 17:51

Me too!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/09/2015 17:56

Could Glasgow have Boden in that new(ish) shopping centre near Buchanan Street?

Or does it have to be on street?

Bluewater maybe?

Autumn2014 · 16/09/2015 18:00

Didsbury, Manchester
Knutsford, Cheshire
I agree with Marlborough
Malmesbury, although the high street is tiny and mostly independents rather than chains si they'll be off to the one in Cirencester
York?

Neffi · 16/09/2015 18:13

It was Walton On Thames where they had a shop a few years back but it's been gone awhile now. Was great though.

RenardeRenarde · 16/09/2015 18:16

Agree with mrsrhodgilbert - I work in Harrogate and it would sit seamlessly amongst the other stores here.
I haven't ever bought anything there though so won't benefit too much!

mrsrhodgilbert · 16/09/2015 21:19

Harrogate has all the same shops as Marlow, apart from Pure, although ironically it is distributed from here. It's a very Boden town.

Dancergirl · 16/09/2015 22:53

The posh bit in St Albans probably

MorrisZapp · 16/09/2015 22:57

The world is full of posh places I've never been to :)

York, that's a shoo in. Padstow, ditto.

I've never heard of Fakenham!

bigbuttons · 17/09/2015 06:29

Every middle class woman ( and her children) in this town wear Boden, pretty well most of the time. Bet it would no longer be exclusive enough if it actually became a shop though!

Bunbaker · 17/09/2015 07:29

I wouldn't even be able to recognise Boden clothes anyway. I have looked at their website and they seem unremarkable and don't stand out, so how is it that they seem instantly recognisable to many of you?

BrendaandEddie · 17/09/2015 07:31

cathedral towns

BATH is a dead cert.

BrendaandEddie · 17/09/2015 07:32

i think NO to marlborough.
Too small

BrendaandEddie · 17/09/2015 07:33

Wouldnt it be funny i they went and opened stores in really unlikely places

Castle Vale
Trowbridge
Batley

Etc

homebythesea · 17/09/2015 07:42

The problem with the Surrey store was that it was in Walton on Thames which is not your typical naice Surrey shopping destination. Guildford would be ideal

joia · 17/09/2015 07:54

Boden clothes are already ubiquitous enough nowadays. Bringing Boden to the high street would kill it for me and many others.

joia · 17/09/2015 07:56

Thay are very distinctive and recognisable, especially if you've shopped there for years. I think it would cheapen the brand, no matter which 'exclusive' locations they chose.
