Boden: coming to a high street near you!

I read the financial pages so you don't have to :)

Yesterday's Guardian reports that Boden are in a massive upswing just now, with profits ever rising.

They have plans to open high street stores in the UK as part of their expansion but are currently v tight lipped about location.

I'm in Edinburgh and I'm pretty certain they'll open here. Anybody else living in a Bodentastic town? Streets paved with ditsy print etc?

St Andrews would be another sure thing. It already has Fatface, White Stuff, Joules, Jack Willis ...

Durham, Chester, Henley on Thames, Kingston, Richmond, York. These would be my first guesses. I'm a big Boden fan but this might be the end of it for me as it's already a bit "all over the place"!

Lj8893 · 16/09/2015 11:07

My town would be perfect for a Boden but is a very small town, although we do have a fat face and joules. Among independant boutiques.

I can imagine a Boden in Winchester Dancing!

diggerdigsdogs · 16/09/2015 11:09

They are doing consultations in Sydney with customers about expansion there too.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 16/09/2015 11:12

It'd go down very nicely in Tunbridge Wells, I would think. (It would have me as a customer anyway, to start it off Smile) I love Boden, but generally wait for a discount as so expensive.

mrsrhodgilbert · 16/09/2015 11:34

Agree with York but actually think Harrogate would be perfect for a northern outpost.

123Jump · 16/09/2015 12:28

There is a shop in Hangar Green in London,I've been there when visiting. It is certainly handy to try everything on in store.
I hope one comes to NI!

Hoppinggreen · 16/09/2015 12:39

Very much doubt they will open one in Huddersfield!!
I wish they would though because about 50% of my Boden clothes consists of stuff I don't like but couldn't be arsed send back

Iwanttobeadog · 16/09/2015 12:39

Marlborough. It'll fit right in

EdithWeston · 16/09/2015 12:45

Brancaster and/or Burnham Market.

Southwold.

Exeter.

Northcote Road SW11

JeffreysMummyIsCross · 16/09/2015 12:52

Didn't they have a store somewhere in Surrey that closed down not long ago? That would seem to be their ideal territory. Surprised that they are thinking of opening stores, having closed that one down.

Nyborg · 16/09/2015 12:55

I got an email about 3 months ago, saying that their head designer wanted to meet regular customers who live in Richmond upon Thames (I do). I couldn't do the times/dates they suggested but that might be one of the places they're considering. Richmond/Kingston are both Boden-tastic.

Linguaphile · 16/09/2015 12:57

Nyborg we're right smack between Richmond and Kingston and yes, the entire area is a Boden fest.

BeaufortBelle · 16/09/2015 13:03

I would buy more if I could see it and feel it before trying it on. The Surrey shop needed a visit just for Boden and I think that's,why it didn't work. I always meant to go but it wasn't en-route to anything. Guildford/Richmond could work - Kingston might have too much of everything already.

CherylTunt · 16/09/2015 13:05

I'm near Chester and have often thought whilst walking down a certain street that all it needs is Boden to complete the set (it has Joules and White Stuff and there used to be a Fat Face that has now been replaced by Seasalt Grin )

See loads of Boden walking around too

sleepyhead · 16/09/2015 13:08

They should go into John Lewis surely?

Boden & Johnny Lulu a match made in heaven.

squoosh · 16/09/2015 13:30

They'd better not open in Glasgow. It would lower the tone.

Byres Road is already in disgrace for having a Fat Face and some kind of country casuals shop.

ThomasRichard · 16/09/2015 13:38

Therevwould have to be one in Harpenden or St Albans. Possibly Hitchin.

ThomasSofty · 16/09/2015 14:18

I wonder how much production will have to increase to keep up with the demands of mail order, online, and physical shops. Certain items/colours sometimes run out of stock quickly, and it is a pain in the arse when that happens. I hope Leeds get a store!

Titsywoo · 16/09/2015 14:32

Definitely Reigate or Dorking.

SmileAndNod · 16/09/2015 14:38

North Cornwall - Rock or Padstow. I think you, and your children of course, have to wear Boden before you're allowed to holiday there. They already have a fat face, white stuff, sea salt, crew and joules.

Agree with Winchester too. Love Winchester for a shopping trip!

skinnyamericano · 16/09/2015 14:40

Padstow and Salcombe for sure!

IloveChoo · 16/09/2015 17:32

Bath, Winchester, Henley on Thames, Salcombe, York.... are my first guesses...

teacherwith2kids · 16/09/2015 17:34

Cheltenham perhaps?
