I wondered if anyone would try the Guerrison 9 cream, or if everyone would think it a step toooo far for skincare... I think it may be too heavy for oily skin? Suppose proper winter would be the time to try it maybe.

It sounds like you've been having fun experimenting Grin! What did you get at Daiso? I think they should bring them to the UK. Sounds like my kind of moochy, bit of everything, shop.

GrinAndTonic · 14/10/2015 23:14

I don't think of the cream as being from specifically slaughtered horses. It's just a by product from the horse meat trade. So it doesn't worry me.

As for Daiso, well it's like ikea. You go in for one thing and come out with mango crisps, two tea cups with cats on them, some odd cleaning device and some socks. However I bought the famed makeup brush cleaner (it sells out in days so I was happy i got some), hand and foot moisturiser glove/sock things, sheet masks, aloe Vera cream (it's really thick and bright green), lipsticks and sockettes.

lucysmam · 15/10/2015 09:16

Yes, that's true about the cream.

Daiso definitely sounds like my kind of shop (also very much how I shop too! Blush )

teawamutu · 15/10/2015 22:20

Just tried my first snail mask - felt a bit squeamishBlush but it felt lovely and hydrating.

Think I got the order wrong, though - double cleansed but didn't tone because I was in the bath. What is the best sequence?

lucysmam · 16/10/2015 08:21

I don't think I'd have toned in the bath tea!

I do cleanse, hydrating toner, serums/essences then sheet mask. Then the rest of my routine depending on how my face feels after the mask.

Sometimes I don't feel like I need much else - other times I do.

jackiekatu · 18/10/2015 13:53

Lucysmam it's the nipfab pads :(: ( cut them off for the last week and skin is back to normal using the clean and clear ones for now
Can you recommend a good facial oil ? Tia

lucysmam · 18/10/2015 14:34

Oh, that's a shame, lots of folks really like them too. I haven't tried them to know what they're like but how often were you using them?

You could maybe introduce them much less frequently and see how you get on?

jackiekatu · 18/10/2015 21:22

Every other day Lucysmam :(:( can't think why it flared so suddenly coz have been using it for 3 months now

lucysmam · 18/10/2015 21:28

Hmmm, gradual wearing away of your skin's moisture barrier I would guess.

Make sure you're keeping it well hydrated for the moment & maybe try again, less frequently, once it's healed?

HopefulAnxiety · 19/10/2015 14:08

I have rosacea and alcohol is a massive trigger. I've found that Korean products, esp hylauronic products, can be quite high in alcohol and it irritates my skin so much that any benefit is lost. What are low/no alcohol products that are good?

wickedfairy · 20/10/2015 11:34

Have been trying out my Banila samples, courtesy of Lucysmam! It smells lovely but you're right Lucys - it's not as effective at removing makeup as the Black Sugar oil!! I think you also need more of it to get your makeup off, so I don't think I will purchase full size. It does smell so nice though... Looks like a repurchase of Bkack Sugar for me, so thank you for helping save money on something that doesn't work for me quite as well as the oil, Lucys!!

The Sum37 miracle rose cleansing stick is lovely as the second, foaming cleanser. Smells nice (not as strong as it was when initially opened) and doesn't leave my skin too tight.

I need to purchase maybe some snail gel or something for layering. What is popular these days? I also think I will reorder my house of Joseon cream, as it is nice and fairly rich for winter and centrally heated dry skin....

Mama1980 · 20/10/2015 11:49

I knew there has to be a thread on mumsnet about this somewhere :) wondering if any of you can help me please, I want to try some Korean skin care it has been recommended by a friend. I don't have a clue where to start though......
I have very dry, sensitive heavily scarred skin. ( worth mentioning I don't want to hide/fade the scars I'm happy with them and they are impossible to hide anyway :))
If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd be grateful Thanks

lucysmam · 20/10/2015 12:03

wicked an emulsion might be better than snail gel maybe? Layer under the Joseon cream. The Mizon snail gel needs to be a last layer because the silicones in it seal everything in.

It's a shame about the Banila but at least there are samples out there to avoid costly full sized disappointments. I'm not finding the Softymo oil quite so effective either but it's still good. Just need to remove last traces with micellar water after my shower.

Mama, the key things to get in place are a good double cleanse, sunscreen and a moisturiser. After that, I've just been picking what I fancy & reading a lot about it before buying, or not.

Reddit AB has a good beginner's guide here which might help make a start.

Someone with dry skin will be about I'm sure to tell you about what they're using Smile

If you were a tube of retin a - where would you be hiding Angry

Snail stuff for scars and acne pigmentation!

Stevie77 · 20/10/2015 20:03

Still waiting for my Softymo cleanser, it's taking an age. My lot from BNK arrived super quick, took a week. Got about 5 samples with it, which I've not yet tried.

I'm unsure about the Mizon good night sleep mask. Doesn't feel like it does anything Hmm but maybe I have unreasonable expectations.

The Mizon AIO snail cream, at what point do I use it? Before moisturising?

I also decided I need a good vit c serum/oil. Any recommendations?

lucysmam · 20/10/2015 21:23

derek if I lose tubes of anything, they have usually fallen in with my socks and vanished in between two pairs where I can't see.

stevie, my softymo took just under three weeks from Japan.

What moisturiser are you using?

Stevie77 · 20/10/2015 22:34

In the day I'm using LRP Hydraphase and at night, at the moment I use L'Oreal collagen something or other night cream. It is quite a rich, dense cream. I think when my Hydraphase runs out I'll get the intense version for winter.

AngelaRipp0n · 21/10/2015 07:02

Derek f I were a tube of retin a id have fallen in the gap between the bed and side table.

My black sugar oil arrived and you're absolutely right it's way better than the banilla, which I have an extra large tub of! It's a bit annoying abut my dd's like the banilla so it is being used.

I'm loving the black snail Aoi, I've been using it since the beginning of the month with the Snow White cream. They both contain ninacinamide as does the toosowoong time shift serum that I've had going for a couple of weeks. I've got one largish age spot right in the middle of my face and last night I noticed it's really faded so something is working!

The mizon powder pact arrived yesterday and it's brilliant. I've stopped using any BB cream and hav just been using no sebum powder to stop the shine, but this give a bit of coverage and is perfect.

jackiekatu · 21/10/2015 07:30

Has anybody used the coppertone sunscreen ?

mowglik · 21/10/2015 07:49

Stevie I used the mizon good night white and didn't feel like it did anything either..that and mizon snail recovery gel.. I don't really get these two products! A better sleeping pack at a similar price point is holika holika White wine therapy

I'd recommend OST vit c serum I love it and it doesn't sting at all if you put it on a dry face

The black sugar oil sounds great, it's going on my list after I finish my current oil cleansers!

lucysmam · 21/10/2015 09:34

stevie, I think I'd use the AIO before those. Iirc it's more gel-cream in texture?

jackie, I've recently finished a Coppertone spf 50 sun milk. 99p shops had them on 3 for 99p through summer. Also have a stock of little tubes to use through winter.

lucysmam · 21/10/2015 09:39

Ooh, yes, the Wine therapy sleep masks are my favourite so far Grin. I really want to try the COSRX honey one but can't justify the cost when the HH one works well for half the price ish.

The good night white - I don't think it does anything much really but seals the other layers in.

My skin is looking incredibly clear for me lately! Although the colder weather is leading to a couple of dry patches Sad.

I've been very lazy the past few weeks & couldn't be arsed to make more vit c serum, think I'll be buying rather than faffing making after I use up the rest of the LAA powder I have.

iamanintrovert · 21/10/2015 09:58

I have just received my first ever Asian Beauty order from roseroseshop. I'm very impressed. The lip essence and aquatint worked well in my first test. The white seed serum felt good on a test spot on my arm. I have some healing shampoo which I'll try soon.
The samples they sent were for Cera ultra toner. I don't know anything about that yet.
