Right will look up the cushion. The airport has general drugstore/cosmetic outlets that do a wide range of products I think.

teawamutu · 11/10/2015 10:16

First impressions:
The Tony Moly honey apple cream has the cutest packaging ever (an apple) and smells gorgeous. It was a bit tacky on first application but sank into my dry skin within minutes and hydrated well.
Mizon Colour Correct CC Cream - blended really well and I think it brightened my complexion. Brilliant primer for my mineral foundation, and spf25.
Skin Food Black Sugar Oil - used this with a hot cloth. Lovely.
Secret Key Rose Floral Toner - swiped this over my skin after oil cleanse but before sleep mask. Seems nice, lovely smell.
Mizon white sleep mask - dunno about this. Went on well but I don't know if I felt particularly hydrated in the morning. Am I missing a step?

So current routine plan:
Morning - Rose toner, Tony Moly cream, CC cream.
Night - Skinfood oil and hot cloth, face scrub (using up my Avon black mineral one), toner, Mizon sleep mask.
Every few days - snail mask.

What do you think of that for a start? For dry skin, what else would you add?

lucysmam · 11/10/2015 11:47

How often are you using the scrub tea?

I'd look for a couple more hydrating steps before the sleep mask.

teawamutu · 11/10/2015 12:42

usually several times a week, it's fairly gentle. What other steps would you add?

lucysmam · 11/10/2015 22:47

Maybe a hydrating toner and a cream before the sleeping pack.

Hada Labo Gokujyun is popular (I really like it too!) & lasts ages as you need so little of it (literally, 3 drops does my face). It helps draw the moisture out of your other products.

Benton aloe bha is also popular (it won't exfoliate - neither right ph or concentration of bha for that). It does seem very calming though - is on my list for when I eventually need to replace the HL.

As for creams - I'm not sure for dry skin. The rice ceramide cream I'm currently using is fairly thick for winter. Sinks in quickly with no greasy residue. Does smell quite strong but that fades quickly. It's cheap as chips too.

My favourite sleeping pack so far is the Holika Holika white wine therapy one - my face looks so much brighter on a morning after using it.

In other news...I have been added to skin18's blogger list - I might have to blog something but no idea where to start Confused.

lucysmam · 12/10/2015 09:29

My Skin18 re-sent freebie masks have arrived! Plus four Foodaholic hydrogels so I may try one of those later on.

Also my Snow White cream and It's Skin Li Effector.

Tried a bit of each on the back of my hands. The snow white has sunk in quickly, no white cast and left quite a matte finish so will try it under make up tomorrow morning to see how it performs.

I put a drop of the Li on the back of the other hand - I think 2 drops should be enough for an entire face as it spreads really easily. Also no stickiness left behind.

Both have a subtle smell - snow white stronger than Li. I'll have a sniff again shortly to see whether it lingers or not.

Off to have a look at how to start a blog...

wickedfairy · 12/10/2015 15:31

Lucysmam - my Banila package arrived, thank you so much and thanks for the extra samples too - that's really kind of you!

I've tried it - like the smell and it feels lovely and cleansing. I've been working (no makeup at work), so haven't tested it wrt removing makeup, but will do that mid-week when I finish.

I recall you thought it didn't remove as efficiently as the skinfood black sugar - is that right? I will update, as I use the skinfood too and it removes makeup very well. Thanks againSmile

lucysmam · 12/10/2015 15:39

It was eye make up it didn't seem to take off as well as the Skinfood, I had panda eyes after using it whereas the Skinfood one took the lot off.

I'm wondering how the Kose will fare with that.

Back on the hunt for eye make up remover if it doesn't do a good job. Or just order another black sugar oil.

Speaking of parcels - my latest Jolse order is taking forever! Think this is the longest I've ever waited for one from them.

derektheladyhamster · 12/10/2015 16:30

I'm waiting for my cosrx aha. Its taking forever.....

mowglik · 12/10/2015 19:55

tea I don't think the mizon good night White is particularly moisturising so it won't take the place of a good moisturiser esp if you have dry skin.

Def add an extra step or 2, id go for a hyaluronic serum and a honey based cream or ceramide cream like the cosrx honey ceramide cream.

Like lucysmam my favourite sleeping pack is the holika white wine therapy, I have oily skin as well and this one def leaves my skin moisturised but not oily and brighter the next day

teawamutu · 13/10/2015 06:37

Thanks all (although this new interest is costing me a FORTUNE).

I've added in a moisturising step (my Nivea blue Blush because I don't have anything else yet) between the rose toner and the sleep mask. The last two mornings I've woken up with soft, hydrated skin so you were all right.

The wine mask (red for dry skin?) is on my future purchase list, as is the Mamonde Rose Honey one because it looks gorgeous #scientific

For now, I have ordered a small tube of the Mizon snail cream to replace the Nivea; a Tony Moly blueberry foam cleanser; and an essence (think Mizon again - free shipping while I figure out if I'm going to keep this up long term).

Stupidly excited about it all...

jackiekatu · 13/10/2015 07:24

Please help is there a equivalent in Ab/ Korean cosmetics for translucent powder ? Desperately needing one to set my make up and keep oil at bay , TIA

lucysmam · 13/10/2015 07:27

jackie, try the Innisfree No Sebum powder - comes as either pressed or loose powder About £3 on ebay.

jackiekatu · 13/10/2015 07:50

Thanks lucysmam as always you come to the rescue , my face was spotless for the last month or so , but
Now looks like a minefield SadSad I don't know what went long , stripping back all the products now to see which is the culprit thanks again lucysmam

lucysmam · 13/10/2015 08:02

jackie, is it that time of the month?

lucysmam · 13/10/2015 09:26

Sorry, I was mn-ing while trying to get the girls sorted! What I mean is, could they be hormonal? It just didn't come out like that!

derektheladyhamster · 13/10/2015 15:58

So my cosrx aha has arrived, but how do I apply it? Fingers or cotton pad?

jackiekatu · 13/10/2015 17:28

lucysmam that's ok , no it's not and it was lovely and no spots at all last month during my time , so it's quite baffling ConfusedConfused the only change is I've started using my Biore sunscreen more but even that has been fine , I'm gutted As my skin skin was feeling and looking great SadSad

lucysmam · 13/10/2015 17:29

Derek, I do two pumps between palms & pat onto my face. Seems to waste a lot of product using a cotton pad Smile

derektheladyhamster · 13/10/2015 18:28

Thanks!

lucysmam · 13/10/2015 22:34

jackie start with removing the last thing you added. (If it was an acid, could it be purging?)

lucysmam · 14/10/2015 10:30

My Softymo cleansing oil has just arrived! It's all parceled up with cellophane and a bow around it Grin. There was also a nice little note in there too.

I'm still using up the last of my Banila samples but will report back on it's effectiveness later on 'cos I'm tooooo impatient to wait any longer to try it out!

teawamutu · 14/10/2015 12:05

Just a thought, but I have a full jar of Tonymoly Appletox (mistakenly ordered two) if anyone would like to swap for something they have extra of/tried once and couldn't get on with?

lucysmam · 14/10/2015 21:01

I tried the softymo tonight.

It's not got as much slip as the Black Sugar (hope that makes sense) so had to use a little more - but the bottle is bigger and less expensive.

It has a very subtle scent, if I hadn't been sniffing for it I don't think I'd have noticed it.

Not quite as good for removing mascara as the black sugar but better than the Banila. There was only the smallest panda eye thing going on tonight.

Took off the rest of my make up and sunscreen fine though and my face feels clean. I think maybe the issue for me with the Banila was more the texture of it than anything else.

It emulsified and washed away easily, leaving no residue behind.

First impression overall is that it's a good product and value for money. Time will tell if it'll be a re-purchase.

GrinAndTonic · 14/10/2015 21:32

Hello again
I've been away for uni placement so mn took a back seat. However being in Brisbane meant I could hit up Daiso and W cosmetics.

I think I've figured out what's causing havoc with my skin; the cosrx BHA of all things. I didn't have an issue with the Paula's choice BHA though. Maybe I don't really need it as I don't get blackheads or acne except for hormonal cc's on my jaw line. It's just AHA, Ost c20 and a-sol for actives.

Anyhow, I managed to find some new goodies.
Guerisson 9 complex horse oil cream is thick, luscious and very moisturising.
Quick and clean moisturising cream is light and perfect for summer and the tea tree is great for pimples.
Tony moly propolis sheet mask helps with the over exfoliation. I've got ginseng, snail and hyaluronic acid ones still to try.
The face shop cc cushion #21 is the perfect colour match for my reddish skin. It's a bit too dewy for summer but the innisfree powder fixes that.

I tried a lot of other things too. The marmonde rose toner smells divine.
It's skin prestige ginseng snail cream is awesome. I'd use it daily if it wasn't $90 a jar. It's my Wishlist holy grail. Oh and soul Spring blossom perfume is so fresh and summery but not sickly sweet that I'm buying two.

Oh and there were some Japanese nurses doing a tour of the facility where I was and somehow we got into the top of Asian beauty and spent twenty minutes discussing it. Felt sorry for the translated though. He seemed bored with snail talk after five minutes Grin
