please help me find an effective but non clogging moisturiser!

it seems like such a simple request but I feel like I've tried a million brands and still not found THE ONE!

I never used to have dry skin but for the last few years I've suffered from it around my eyebrows, forehead, sides of my nose and occasionally my chin.

I finally found a super thick lovely hydrating moisturiser (Nivea rich moisturising day cream) but after a week of using it, I broke out in those horrible deep volcano spots. But it's the only thing I've found to keep my dry skin at bay!

I can't afford to spend a lot (maybe £15 a month at the VERY MOST) and hoped someone here could recommend something?

Neutrogena is working really well for me at the moment - hydrating but not gloopy, and some SPF too

What neutrogena specifically please?

Avene skin recovery cream. Here

Vichy aqualia riche cream. It's £17 but will last you a lot longer than a month. I love it, I used to use Clarins Hydraquench but this beats it hands down.

Cerave PM is the best I've found after it was recommended on the very long skincare post.

I would maybe look at something lighter and try a hyaluronic acid serum underneath. There's a technical explanation but it holds moisture in better

Mary I was going to say, I like the Vichy Aqualia Riche too but balk at £17.... I may try it again.

I like Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion.

I really like No7 essentials one, it's only £10 but they often do £5 off vouchers. It's got a lovely soft texture and soaks in well without leaving residue. I have normal, skin that's sensitive to perfume and this works wonders. I use the night cream too.

L'Oreal Revitalift the one with SPF30. But I'd look at what you're cleansing / toning with, and maybe consider a serum. And drinking more. And eating more good fats. Blah blah blah.

Cerave is good- their lotions are less rich than the cream.

Dermalogica Active Moist, light and good for spot prone skin. As bonzo said you may need to look at what you are washing your face with first as some cleansers can be really harsh and cause dry skin.

Estée Lauder daywear in a pot. About £30 but three pots lasts me a year.

I am also desperate for a normal moisturiser I can also use along with the above. Most of them are just that bit too oily for my skin which can instantly break out.

The best cleanser by far for me is la roche posay physiological gel, even cetaphil breaks me out in pimples.

I think I might try the Vichy aqualia one as recommended above, and hope it's like the clinique moisture surge. Sort of wet and gel like.

I agree with goodasitgets, I have given up with finding the one when it comes to moisturiser and stick to serums now. I have been using the superdrug one for months with great results and I have finally got my hands on the aldi serum (fingers crossed its as good as the reviews)

I did experiment with serums but they sadly seem to clog me up.

Do try a facial oil though, just don't use too much of it. Just a couple of drops.

Nivea do an oil free moisturizing fluid, if the Neutrogena one is hard to find (they are v similar, I think)

Try drinking more water. I also find the body shop vitamn e cream good
