As I was musing about rediscovering my own 'style' post kids and post 35, it got me to thinking about style icons and who I might like to emulate a little as I find my way, a bit like I did as a teenager.....so...who are your style icons/muses/heros/heroines? Who do you like to channel, even just a little bit?

Mine are here plus a dash of Minnie Mouse!

Tweezertastic · 27/07/2015 20:37

I love Helena bonham Carter. She dresses how she wants and she looks face because of it!

Waywarddaughter · 27/07/2015 20:42

You're my kind of girl Remus!!

HBC is ace, she really pulls it off.

HBC is beautiful, but she often gets a bit too crazy cat lady for my liking (and I say that as somebody who can easily veer into that territory myself).

YY to Jarvis and the great Moz. :)

Floisme · 27/07/2015 22:19

Ooh I forgot Patti Smith
And Siousie Sioux
And Leonard Cohen

I don't exactly try and copy any of them but what I admire is that they each have a distinctive look. I also like it that they're not afraid to look their age.

Twowrongsdontmakearight · 27/07/2015 22:22

Audrey Hepburn always. Immaculate, charming and caring. Can't stand Kate Moss though. Truly don't get why she's lauded. DH calls her 'rough as a badger's ar*e!

Judydreamsofhorses · 27/07/2015 22:26

Kate Moss
Edie Sedgewick
Jane Birkin
Louise Brooks
Mia Farrow
Bet Lynch - I love a bit of leopard print

HappyGirlNow · 27/07/2015 22:30

Cate Blanchett
Naomi Watts
Marion Cotillard
Diane Kruger
Charlize Theron

mooth · 27/07/2015 22:31

Clemence Poesy (doesn't try to be 'sexy')

Kate Bush, Jean Shrimpton, Lauren Hutton, pretty much any woman who strikes me as a proper 'grown up' who isn't scared of looking like a woman and wears whatever the hell she feels like wearing.

mooth · 27/07/2015 22:35

Oh, and David Bowie. Of course. And Brian Jones. Anita Pallenberg was quite cool, too.

Pupsiecola · 27/07/2015 22:38

Kate Beckinsale always looks stunning I think. Well groomed but simply dressed and stylish. As does Sandra Bullock; cannot believe she is 51.

Becauseicannes · 27/07/2015 22:44

Jackie Kennedy was always flawless. Lately I think sienna miller looks amazing

SwedishEdith · 27/07/2015 22:47
