I want to try for starters:-

Alberto Balsam Mandarin and Papaya conditioner - have tried the shampoo and it is better than I'd expected...

I have tried Boots Evening Primrose moistursier and its just ok, wouldn't re-use

Sonata get one! It's for all skin types I believe. It feels lovely. My skin manages to be dry oily and sensitive all at once Hmm and this is really soothing but thorough.

DogWalker75 · 25/07/2015 08:38

Would anybody recommend the W7 range? There's loads in my local peacocks. I could do with some new eyeshadows and their pallets look fab.

Can anybody recommend a foundation for dry skin? I use Estée Lauder's double wear ATM but I'd much prefer to use something cheaper, but with similar coverage.

I'd recommend clean and clear's blackhead wash (just the liquid you put on with cotton wool). Alberto balsam shampoo and conditioners are great too. And the face masks in home bargains for under a quid (I can't remember the brand name). Their manuka honey face mask really helps with my dry skin.

SweetCharityBeginsAtHome · 25/07/2015 08:42

I love Boots tubing mascara in the gold tube - I think that's less than a tenner especially when you have a voucher.

Dukketeater · 25/07/2015 08:43

Dog I switched from double wear to L'oreal true match. The coverage is really good but not cakey and only about £10 a bottle.

Chanel and Bourjois are made in the same factory, the same address is printed on the back of both.
If anyone is a fan of the Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel (£35ish for 1oz) Bourjois do an almost identical copy known as their bronzing primer for £10 for 0.6 oz so about £16 for a comparison weight meaning half the price. It looks a little creamier in the pot but when it goes on looks identical. I have both.

Dukketeater · 25/07/2015 08:44

The eyeshadow palettes from Revolution is Superdrug are really pigmented and supercheap - try some!

Dukketeater · 25/07/2015 08:49

MUA (superdrug) do a really good fixing spray for about £2

Sleek do a brilliant contour palette for less than £10

Rimmels exaggerate liquid eyeliner is fab.

L'oreal volume million lashes (the purple one) has replaced my dior show 10 year commitment.

I need good alternatives to MAC mechanical eyebrow pencil in Brunette, MAC lip liners and lipsticks, Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream, MAC lip primer, YSL touche eclat if anyone knows any???

midnightmoomoo · 25/07/2015 08:53

Dukketeater our Savers sells small tubes of Eight Hour Cream for £3.99 I think they're 30ml, might be worth a look.

Heyheyheygoodbye · 25/07/2015 09:44

Dog I already mentioned the W7 palettes - they're fab, go for it!

Turtletea · 25/07/2015 09:47

Maybelline falsies mascara.

BlueberryMuffins76 · 25/07/2015 10:17

Barry M Speed Dry nail varnishes (the ones with the black and white chequered lids) are hands down some of the best I've ever used, and knock the socks off some of the premium brands.

Sloachie · 25/07/2015 12:16

NSpa facial oil is lovely, in fact I've used quite a bit of that range and it's all been pretty good for the price.

MUA make up is good - eye shadows are great.

Super drug Vitamin E body cream is lovely - comes in a huge tub and I love the smell. The body scrub is excellent too.

Could go on forever! Love a bargain...

Shonajay · 25/07/2015 14:23

Osmo blinding shine illuminating finisher- for hair. About eight quid, but makes hair glossy and tames flyways.

Lndnmummy · 25/07/2015 16:49

Bio oil
Dove gradual tanner

chocolatespiders · 25/07/2015 16:58

W7 bronzing powder- I order from ebay but noticed B and M do the W7 range.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/07/2015 17:50

The Superdrug Radience overnight glycolic is really good.

Chicinwellies · 25/07/2015 19:18

Aveeno creamy oil. My favourite body moisturiser, ever. And No7 Stay perfect top coat polish, keeps any colour on my nails for at least 10 days. And Body shop vitamin e night cream. Ive been using it since 1996 and always always go back to it, and it smells so pretty.

mintleaves · 25/07/2015 19:31

Dog I have dry skin, prone to redness and I like Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation. I use that in summer when I need a little less coverage and Rimmel Lasting Finish in winter

I also like:

  • Blue Nivea
  • Palmers body lotion
  • Revlon lip butters
  • Garnier gradual tanner
  • Garnier 2 in 1 makeup remover - this is a good dupe for the Lancome Bi-facil one which I also love
  • Cheapo primrose oil capsules - pierce with a pin and massage into face before bed (I got this tip from Mumsnet)
  • I've liked pretty much everything beauty-wise that I've bought from Other Stories, well-priced and good quality. Body scrubs particularly good
DogWalker75 · 25/07/2015 20:59

Thanks for your replies to my dry skin dilemma! I will try your suggestions re foundations.

I have just ordered shit loads of some W7 products from Amazon. I bought a few pallets, but I may have gone a bit overboard after thatBlush Happy to let you all know how I get on with them if anybody is interested?

DogWalker75 · 25/07/2015 21:03

Has anybody got a good dupe for Estée Lauder daywear moisturiser? I really resent paying £40+ for cream, but I've tried everything, including prescription stuff! (I have ordered a W7 one with the other stuff I've ordered, but I'm not expecting much tbh as nothing ever seems to work for me!).

SwedishEdith · 25/07/2015 21:04

Palmers body oil is lovely. I use it for taking my make-up up/cleaning my face.

TallulahLaTrees · 25/07/2015 21:22

LA colours nail varnishes - around £1 per bottle. Fab range of colours and as long lasting as many more expensive brands.

Tweezertastic · 25/07/2015 22:31

Corn silk powder
Boots essentials face wash and wipes which are often on offer.
Boots ant dandruff shampoo from the pharmacy area helps clear my scalp
Bourjois intense eyeshadows(little round pots)
Sudocream for dry skin/irritations
M and s natures extract body scrub especially the lemon verbena. Smells lovely and cheap(on offer quite a bit too!)

Tweezertastic · 25/07/2015 22:35

Avenno body moisturiser. Sloths my dry and its skin in the winter and lasts 24 hrs.
Vaseline body moisturiser. Not quite as good as the aveeno but also good.
Mycote antiseptic foot cream (athletes foot cream) from home bargains

Getuhda348 · 25/07/2015 22:39

Collection concealer around £5 if I remember rightly and better than any high end ones I've tried. I also use it for highlighting and it's fab.

moopymoodle · 25/07/2015 23:24

I ordered the W7 palette last week and rather disappointed. The metalic ones are good but the matt ones are crap. They crumble up like talc and don't attach to the brush. The gold mascara they do is amazing though. Best mascara ever and sooo cheap. All that range is cheap on amazon.

The nivea cleansing face wash is fab too. I got it for £1.25 from tesco and after 1 day my skin is a lot clearer. Ive always slept in my makeup, then noticed it gave me bad skin so have a skincare regime now
