Yep I'm going there. I saw a fabulous cape linked on Pinterest which I'm seriously considering (and no I'm not linking!) and it led me to wondering what will be around this AW. And then googling and getting excited. I am loving the glorious weather and wearing dresses and sandals every day, but there is something scrummy about slick wool coats, shiny boots, new skinny jeans, cashmere...

I'm delighted to see AW stuff coming in. I live in Ireland. We just don't have the climate to bother investing in SS.

I notice there's no mention of the 70s look that SS was all about.

Yay other people like me! I've been doing aw for the last few weeks, I just hate ss clothes give me a wooly jumper any day.
So far I have bought

A grey cashmere jumper-asos
A black cashmere jumper-asos
Grey knitted poncho-asos (hmm I'm spotting a trend here!)
Grey sweatshirt fabric blazer- river island
Lots of scarves
Grey oversized coat-asos
Blue girlfriend jeans-mango
Black and white knitted midi length cardi-can't remember where

My youngest is 9 months and I bought stuff while I was pregnant (I know it was hormones) so I've got loads of stuff I've not worn yet too.

I could be wearing AW stuff now. Here in perthshire it has rained all week, sometimes heavily, it's cold (heating was on last night). Definitely no dresses and sandals here!

I plan on buying some good bits and pieces. Have recently lost 3 stone so looking forward to the new collections!

I must admit to giving a passing thought to AW
Am in Cheshire so whilst we have had some summer, we certainly are not enjoying South East temperatures!

Am definitely not buying any more summer votes, well unless I see an absolute must. ..
Am going to audit my autumn stuff and see where there are gaps.

Love thinking about autumn/winter clothes, prob more so than the actual event.

Like the fur in the first link and also the furry cuffs/muffs

On my list:

Red cape
White jeans (slim but not super skinny)
Poncho - last year Baukjen did one with one long sleeve so a jumper cross, looked more practical for shoulder bags, so hoping they will do again
Poss some over the knee boots but didn't buy last year as couldn't find the perfect ones

My list -

Furry gilet (but this has been on my list for years and I haven't found a good one that isn't £££)

Boden off duty jumper (I know there's 20% off but it's August fgs, I'm not actually buying it now!)

I bought gorgeous taupe high heeled ankle boots from M and S Autograph sale last Jan which I haven't worn yet, plus I have black suede heeled boots I bought last year and sheepskin lined bikers. So no new boots I also have a lovely navy hooded Cos coat that means I probably can't excuse the cape but I will hunt it down and try it on and buy if it is perfect

I have been pregnant the last couple of winters so lots of dresses / opaques / leggings, plus I've been working - this winter I will be a slim sahm so planning to wear mostly skinny jeans and ankle boots with nice jumpers. I don't really like wearig jumper dresses yet always gravitate to them in winter - this year I will resist.

The 70s look is definitely strong with the fur cuffs and gilets, and the peasanty stuff . I'm a sucker for a peasanty blouse or two.

It's not August even, it's July! I can't buy yet

Is it just me or is everything (except the post-normal look that seems to aim somewhere between normcore and Celine) super ugly? I skipped SS15 and probably will also skip also AW15. The fashions remind me of a super dull phase in the mid 1990s when dirty colors and Prada's polyester librarian look in dirty colors and frumpy lengths ruled the runways. I'm a bit alarmed as I normally love clothes and couldn't stop buying them last year. This year, the colors and lengths and trend revivals are just not for me.

My focus this year is on stuff I mainly need, which unfortunately is quite expensive, but worth investing in as I know these things will be well-used:

• black heeled knee boots
• tan heeled knee boots

I know what you mean frugal lots of ugly clothes about, I've bought mainly classic things and trying to find bits and pieces that suit my style and shape.

Georgina I'm in cheshire too it's not exactly tropical is it?!

Autumn dressing is my favourite. I doubt I'll care much what's supposedly 'in' though.

I'll be wearing:

skinnies, or mini skirts plus opaques
boots - either ankle or knee
turtle necks or black or grey v neck jumpers
biker jackets
hats
scarves

Oh and leather Converse, if boots not needed.

I have nothing againts good cool weather staples and people here have great shopping lists! But I've just been doing a mega clearout and have found lots of ugly browns and burgundys and limp, flappy pants and awful synthetics from circa 1997 or 1998 - and they could easily pass for AW2015 runway looks! Never again

So excited about the new stuff trickling in - I'm in Scotland so summer clothes always seem like a waste of money. My preferred outfits sound similar to remus's choices, but I'm a fan of a dress rather then skirts/tops, so will be keeping an eye out for some new frocks. I was eyeing up lovely chunky brogues in Clarks today, and could do with some new Chelsea boots, maybe in tan. Mustard is one of my favourite colours and there seems to be quite a lot of that in the shops - hurrah!

Next has got a couple of things I like. There is a terracotta jumper with a slightly swing shape, a pair of chestnut leather lace up knee high boots and a 3/4 brown coat. I figure with the addition of a knitted dress and beads I could toastify them

Nope, I can't get excited about autumn. I hold onto summer for as long as possible. Autumn means endless colds and coughs for the two little ones (therefore if I buy anything nice it will soon be covered in snot). I will be sticking with long boots, skinnies etc.

I'm going there too. I am over Summer clothes. It gets over 20 degrees here, for about a week in August.

I'm already on the look out for the A/W stock coming in. Nothing nicer than gorgeous Autumn layers, boots, scarves, silk, cashmere, wool...

I've liked a lot this season, but then I think the Prada-Celine-Tilda Swinton-as-librarian look is beautiful (in a not aiming to please kind of a way). Looking at the Marie Claire predictions (couldn't make Elle work) I felt a bit dismayed. Boho back? Nooooo! My very least favourite look! The only one I really warmed too was the futuristic tailoring, and that won't make it to the high street, as it's too expensive.

Rushing now and apologies as haven't rtft but shameless place marking and can I join in? Can't wait for AW - summer with pregnancy wear has been abysmal and uninspiring, can't wait for baby s arrival and a semblance of more normal clothes. Have been frantically pinning and gathering a list. Though I suspect I won't splurge until the fug lifts when the child is 18 I get a bit of muscle tone back (hopefully the sales in January yeah right this oregnancy is going to be different!)
Disappointed I missed the 70s trend, as have an inclination towards the mildly boho look in my normal looks :) I could have been ahead of a trend for once !
Would love a cape/ poncho. Have see a few love molly ponchos loved the colours for summer but not sure for winter.
Also have a hankering for a huge fur lined parka (in reality a zadig and voltaire one I had my eye on but hesitated over a couple of years ago)- are parka s now ubiquitous and over ?.
Are skinnies out? Doubt mine will fit for ages anyway, but should I ebay them ?
And shoes/ boots - what s in?

Cherry popped - I have made my first AW purchase!

Two boxy merino jumpers from Uniqlo in navy and in grey. Highly exciting and adventurous I know

Their merino is lush though - I have has a similar boxy navy merino jumper from there for 3 years that has been perfect but a little worn now so it's definitely worth investing in at the bargainous £24,90 each. Link
