Since I'm in the big smoke I hit up Daiso today. Theydidn't have a huge range there (Garden City in Brisbane for any Australian AB'ers) but I did get their own brand CoQ10 and collagen face masks, some hyaralonic acid serum, those silk finger cocoon thingys and some teeny tiny containers, mfunnels and pippettes for decanting all my products. I then popped into a random makeup store that sold some AB products (very surprised by that) at grossly inflated prices. I did get a konjac sponge to try and a face mask or two by a company called Medi-heal. Not a bad days shopping.

lucysmam · 26/07/2015 10:29

Very Envy Grin. I'm planning a nip into our local asian supermarket the next time I head to town - doubt they'll have much but it's worth a look.

It was the white power CosRX Smile

Thank you amazing, that's the one I have! I will double up my efforts.

mowglik · 26/07/2015 14:23

Wizard I never get grits when oil cleansing and only got a few out when doing the grits method. Not sure what that means - are our pores just tighter Grin

I used one of the nose charcoal strips that come free with AB orders and it did nothing except leave black charcoal deposits around my nose that I had to scrape off with a fingernail so not doing that again! Other brands may be better

wombat enjoy the hada labo! I still have loads of things to swap also inc a Dr Jart waterful sleeping mask I only used a few times.

I'm loving even more my innisfree no sebum powder - I have to use 2 layers before and after foundation but it works for hours and hours and lasts up to when I take my make up off.. I think retinol dryness may be helping with that but nevertheless am so impressed. On that note I also have a brand new MAC blot powder up for swaps lol. Also really liking the bio essence sleep mask which i didn't like at first - favourite sleep mask so far

Last news (sorry for mammoth post) I have bumped up Cosrx blackhead liquid to twice a day and my pores are noticeably smaller and skin looks a bit fresher

mowglik · 26/07/2015 14:24

Hope everyone else is tweaking and enjoying their new routines Star

DogWalker75 · 26/07/2015 14:32

Can I ask for some advice please?

I have really really dry skin. Nothing seems to shift it (including prescription creams). I currently exfoliate, wash with a clean and clear cleanser on cotton wool, and apply Estée Lauder daywear cream. This has helped enormously. I know professionals advise to only exfoliate once or twice a week, but that has never been enough for me.

Anyway, the problem is that I hate paying £40+ for a pot of daywear which doesn't even fix the problem completely. So if anybody has any other ideas for skin care regimes/different products for my dry skin, I'd appreciate hearing them. I have read most of the thread, but I'm a complete newbie so I'd really appreciate the extra help. Thanks Smile

NewsreaderChic · 26/07/2015 16:12

I've been ill for a few days so out of the loop, but skin still looking good! I haven't had a chance to see what I've got Mowglik, so will get back to you obviously if someone else wants The Hado Labo don't hold on for me to get my act together. I've got to paint our kitchen this week (don't ask) usually my skin care goes to pot when I'm decorating as I get so tired, so I might cheat a bit this week.

I also got the shark sauce email, and same as Lucysmam thought I'd hold off until there's information about worldwide shipping.

I feel a bit sad not having regular parcels anymore, if put a couple of orders in this week but all replacements so not the same.

Dog, something with hyaluronic acid might be good - I can't remember the word for it ('cos I'm having a frazzled brain day Grin ) but iirc it draws water/moisture to it rather than it sitting on your skin (humectant??) so would increase the amount of moisture your skin soaks up from your products iyswim.

God I hope someone with a better grasp of the English language today explains that better Blush

PoppyAmex · 26/07/2015 20:49

Dog, I agree with lucysmam regarding hyaluronic, but I also think exfoliating might be making your problem worse.

I have dry/dehydrated skin and since I started using acids the problem is all but gone. They are "modern exfoliators", I suppose. I recommend Fab (First Aid Beauty) Pads or any glycolic acid really.

lucysmam sorry it took me forever to answer your question from ages ago, but I got my Shara Shara Honey Bomb sent from a mate in Australia, so didn't have to buy it from Glow.

Ah brilliant, thank you! I'm off to google all of this. I feel a bit lost re Asian beauty products tbh! There's just so many different types of products.

Can anybody recommend a good foundation or a bb/cc cream for very pale skin? I use Estée Lauder's double wear but the price is a bit steep really, and it can become cakey towards the end of the day.

Thanks again, and sorry to be a pest but I'm fairly hopeless re make up GrinGrin

lucysmam · 26/07/2015 21:06

Actually, thinking about it Dog, I think something like a konjac sponge might be a tad gentler on your skin if you must exfoliate every day. You can pick them up dirt cheap on ebay & mine leaves my face soooo soft. It feels funny jellyish but is very gentle.

I came back with a shark sauce update in my brain too but forgot about it...

It's looking like about $26 all in to get it to the Uk. So that's £15 ish? Assuming she's worked out costs based on the actual ingredient amounts used per bottle rather than total quantity bought so it's not really that expensive per bottle compared to what we have been buying.

I'm still looking at ingredients at the mo before I take the plunge so think I'll hold off until I've decided about the seaweed possibly clogging pores & then decide either way.

Frugal are you sleeping in your new home tonight? I hope you're having a relaxing evening if you are.

lucysmam · 26/07/2015 21:15

I've never looked at the flannels & loofahs in Superdrug - I tend to nip in to see if MUA's on offer or hair dye but never stray further than that. Handy to know...although the parcels dropping through the door are a treat Grin

NewsreaderChic · 26/07/2015 22:57

I spotted that Lucysmam, I assume you're on the Facebook page too I wonder who you are Smile. I think I'm going to go for it and take the shark sauce plunge.

ScrambledSmegs · 26/07/2015 23:51

I'm back! I'm relaxed but tired, had a lovely holiday but awful skin due to sunscreen and humidity. Hoping that some tlc will help.

I want to go for the shark sauce. Will I be too late tomorrow? Too tired to register interest now. Sleeeeep...

VeganCow · 27/07/2015 01:06

Dogwalker what shade doublewear are you, can recommend some bb creams based on your skin tone.

My Holika holika watery bb and Banila clean it zero have arrived! The bb looks a better match from a quick test before I washed my face this morning.
