Frugal, your move sounds exhausting but exciting and full of new opportunities all at the same time!

Thanks for the invite for dp but...um...no thanks Grin . Although he is enjoying my re-found

lucysmam · 24/06/2015 15:06

oops! *re-found love of skincare products.

FrugalFashionista · 24/06/2015 15:10

Here is a fairly intensive Reddit page on pH and how to put pH dependent products in correct order. Lots of information...

brittanyfairies · 24/06/2015 15:17

That link doesn't seem to work for me Frugal.

ScrambledSmegs · 24/06/2015 17:47

Oh, Frugal Sad

I hope everything goes smoothly with the move. Good luck!

yazzy85 · 24/06/2015 17:59

I was looking up some reviews and came across this article by Paula on korean skincare Hmm

www.paulaschoice.com/expert-advice/myths/_/Are-Korean-Beauty-Products-the-Next-Big-Thing

ScrambledSmegs · 24/06/2015 18:19

To be honest that's a (relatively) balanced article by Paula. However I think she's wrong about the formulations. I've seen far better results with k-beauty than I have with the CH or Reddit skincare and routines.

I also recently saw a funny 'shaming' of Paula by CH. seems like Paula's Choice doesn't always practice what she preaches!

But hey, once a Dementor, always a Dementor Wink. I'd rather have a little joy with my skincare.

I agree about the article. I have the Biore suncream and its fab, haven't ever found a suncream with this kind of light feel. Also loving the lightweight moisturisers. Even in her beautypedia reviews her products get more praise so it could be sour grapes!

lucysmam · 24/06/2015 20:26

I have just stumbled upon these aritaum mask pouches that I was struggling to find before. It was the packaging that attracted me to them more than anything so I've been looking for some reviews but not come up with much so far Confused

lucysmam · 24/06/2015 20:32

Also, rubyruby76 appear to have knocked down prices on everything! Not sure how long it'll last but the eyebrow powder, that I can't get the hang of, is a quid cheaper than I paid for it the other week.

Phantomquartz · 24/06/2015 20:34

I bought a cushion compact - the missha m magic one. I used the foundation matcher that someone, I think it was Frugal, linked to in an earlier thread and the colour is pretty much perfect.

They're a revelation!

lucysmam · 24/06/2015 20:40

I'm actually scrolling looking for TCFS Pumpkin sleeping pack samples if anyone has a link to save me scrolling - not that I mind scrolling, I'm making a mental list of sample sized things I'm going back to order if there's any spare cash this weekend (Benton snail bee essence & steam cream at the top) Grin

FrugalFashionista · 24/06/2015 20:57

Re Paula's Choice, I think she is not enhancing her brand by being so negative about competitors. Lots of people would be happy to do a hybrid Western-Asian routine that also includes her stuff but I think that article made lots of AB fans angry and gained Cosrx some customers. There was a discussion about her products on Reddit the other day. Quoting Fifty Shades of Snail:

"You've just made me be able to articulate one of the main reasons I find Paula's Choice so uncompelling. They're so un-fun. They're like the no-sugar no-carb no-starch no-fat no-gluten diet of skincare. They're the Gwyneth Paltrow of skincare."

Negativity creates negativity Wink

Trying to repost the correct ordering of pH dependent products list.

Phantomquartz · 24/06/2015 21:00

This was the link I think this should be part of the summary information as it is so useful.

FrugalFashionista · 24/06/2015 21:02

GERTI your progress sounds fab and Yazzy welcome to the Biore fan club! Phantom so glad your cushion is a success!

Going to bed early, going to test the Tony Moly sleeping pack Wink

I had my first comment from a friend yesterday, he said that I am looking 'rather fresh faced'! Grin DP also commented that my skin is looking more radiant, yay!

Waiting on cleansing oil, placenta ampoule cream, cosrx pimple master patches and the Benton bee snail serum. Seen it raved about so much on here, I had to pick some up. Also ordered some tretinoin from pharmacygeoff although they aren't getting it in stock for a few weeks so its quite the wait. However, the spots are not that bad at the moment. Cystic ones seem to be controlled and healing very fast but nothing is preventing them forming at the moment. Fingers crossed the tretinoin has some effect.

Frugal, good luck with the move! Wine

With regards to TBS, they did (maybe still do?) a Vit C face was which I used to love. It was a daily one with tiny balls in the gel. Can't remember what it's called, they had a whole range of Vit C stuff. I don't actually know why I stopped using it...

ScrambledSmegs · 24/06/2015 21:33

Patting is the way

It's weird, I haven't just changed the products I put on my skin, I've also changed the way I touch it. It works. My skin looks healthier and younger. My jawline looks and feels firmer.

And patting makeup on is great - the little pad that you use to apply the cushion foundation is part of the almost airbrushed effect you get.

Pat, pat, pat...

lucysmam · 24/06/2015 21:37

Cornwall yay! Grin Did your breakout clear up?

I didn't find what I was looking for in rubyruby76's store...did wish I had sat down with pen and paper beside me though. I spied all sorts of things that interested me enough to go back for another look - the Banila clean it zero, stuff with mushrooms, stuff with brocolli, the aritaum masks now I found them, some pore emulsion I can't remember the name of. Plus a load of body stuff and make up.

I stopped scrolling at £8, sure there is more if I kept going.

lucysmam · 24/06/2015 21:39

Scrambled, no touching! I'm trying really hard not to touch and generally go exploring for lumpy bumpy bits. Think that's half the battle tbh, to stop poking around for imperfections Hmm

lucysmam · 24/06/2015 21:41

Cabbage! There was cabbage in there too!

Don't really fancy the random veg based stuff (bit like the horse oil) but figure I'll have a look what it does at some point anyway - will write a list tomorrow.

ScrambledSmegs · 24/06/2015 21:51

I meant when you're supposed to be touching your face, lucysmam! Don't rub those snail serums and super-long name ampoules in to your face - gently smooth and pat them on.

Trust me. I've read a few blogs Wink

lucysmam · 24/06/2015 21:55

aaah, ok, blame the Wine and excitement over so many things to explore (Wine shared with dp btw - am not that much of a lush to drink it all myself Grin ).

I just found what looks like hair mayonnaise Confused

ScrambledSmegs · 24/06/2015 22:25
Grin

TonyMoly are do really quirky packaging. I like that but yet, it doesn't make we want to buy any of their products!

I forgot to do my Vitamin C serum this morning so did it tonight. It felt like water when I put it on but now it feels kind of ... glyceriney on my skin. Not sure if I like it. I think the next batch will be glycerine-free.
