Wtf has happened to Toast

It was always a tad tortured Edwardian lesbian but it has tipped into ridiculous sackcloth. It is like Margaret Atwood was asked to design clothes for her latest nightmarish envisaging of a dystopian patriarchal future.

I wish they would sort their sizing out. I bought two dresses in the NY sales. One was enormous and the other so tight I couldn't even pull it up. Both the same size and very similar styles.

Their dresses all appear to be made for women with no breasts.

BigGreen, no need to apologise. Smile

Liability, I am very small of nork and can report that the clothes aren't made for me either. My experience is that I get into an item and DP could come and stand in there with me, they're so roomy.

Only Ah OK, I always assumed it was my large boobs causing the problem!

It's a shame really because I do quite like a lot of their stuff but it very rarely fits me unless it's a sack type effort.

I tried Cos for the first time the other day and was pleasantly surprised. Pretty much everything I tried fitted well and was nicely cut. I got these:

Dress with silk cuffs

Flared cotton skirt in navy

Short sleeve knitted top

The navy skirt is much nicer than it looks in the pic and comes just below the knees. It has a very satisfying rustle too. Grin

Toast always reminds me of that terribly Middle English belief that to be naice and upper/middle one must be as frumpy and unsexy as possible, but in terribly well made clothes and possibly shagging the gardener .

Leave close fitted clothing to the brash Americans and dangerous Mediterranean types.
We shall have toast and tea. And gin. Brew

Squizita At some point I read a comment in a Boden catalogue saying they didn't do sexy & realised why their clothes don't work on me (like Toast), my body does do sexy (very hourglass with proportionately long legs) & if I try to do Middle England frumpy it just looks lumpy and old.

I can't see anything on this site I would even contemplate buying. Although I appear to be some sort of MN outcast as I've never bought anything from Toast, Boden, Zara, White Stuff or Uniqlo! Grin

East I'm similar with short legs. I can do classy (40s style - covered/loose) but the boobs and bum are always there. Toast either swamps me or is tight in places, loose elsewhere.

I bought a Cos dress last year that I totally loved. Fitted beautifully and was right for all occasions (or I was kidding myself). I wore it all the time, it was my 'go to' dress.

Then one day I gathered up an armful of washing, chucked it in the washing machine without checking, oh yes, domestic goddess here, and it emerged like a two year old's sweater.

I fought back real tears.
