Asian and Korean skincare products seem to be a big thing right now - we are falling in love with quite a few things...

Thanks Frugal. It sounds like it's been a difficult process for you, I'm so glad that your skin is so much better now. I shall try to be patient, but it is hard Smile

CornwallsFinest · 15/06/2015 12:33

Thanks for the link to the Innisfree mask offer Frugal!

Which are the best ones for dry skin prone to cystic acne? The MBD hyaluronic ones I love, so will include a couple of those but wondering if there are other ones worth a go?

FrugalFashionista · 15/06/2015 12:58

Cornwall I haven't tried those specific ones but I think Wombat may have tried the yellow propolis one. Trouble is a Konglish euphemism for acne.

I have just completed the monster task of cataloguing he freezer contents and figuring out a week of meals based on what was found there. We just had a chicken tagine in which I dumped three freezer bags of mystery meat leftovers, one and half jar of pearl onions, green olives from the back of the fridge

Frugal, your dinner sounds interesting Grin I did the same a few weeks ago...freezer surprise week!

No parcels here either Sad

I'm in the middle of baking heart shaped shortbread for Race 4 Life at school tomorrow and trying to find my fabric glue...it has vanished!

NewsreaderChic · 15/06/2015 13:10

I had some lovely comments from Dh this weekend about my skin, which felt really good but I've decided to increase my retin a to alternate nights in the hopes that I finally adapt to it. The flakiness is spoiling things and research tells me that perhaps even every third night is too infrequent. I'm going to give it a month and reassess.

No parcels today, I did order a no sebum mist thing from Etude House. I'm moisturises like mad because of the flaking but I'm shiny at the best of times so I thought I'd give this a go. Powder is no good at the moment because it highlights the flakes.

lucysmam · 15/06/2015 13:17

I'd be interested in how you get on with the mist News, I find powder ends up cakey by the end of the day but I'd like something to stop the shine.

I use the little blotting papers at the mo (Kleenex ones for 29p from Home Bargains a few weeks ago) but spray seems less faff Smile

GrinAndTonic · 15/06/2015 13:23

My parcels arrived! I have snail cream, a sleeping mask and a watery cream thingy. DH has already pinched my snail cream.

bigbuttons · 15/06/2015 13:25

frugal which CORSX products are you waiting for?

Your dinner plan sounds yum!

lucysmam · 15/06/2015 13:32

Grin Grin, my dp pinched mine too .

leeloo1 · 15/06/2015 13:39

Hi all - shame other people are having mixed reactions to the Mizon sleep packs - I actually have the 'wrinkle care one' - today I woke up with a big whitehead on my nose (attractive!), which is quite unusual for me, but otherwise no obvious difference to my skin. I'm not expecting instant miracles much but did expect to feel more moisturised - I've now tried putting it on after a 2nd dose of serum and moisturiser, after a 2nd dose of moisturiser and by itself and can't see any real difference.

Ah well, perhaps something else will be better. [hopeful] Any other recommendations? (For dry skin/wrinkles?)

I collected my other parcels today (Lucysmam I really do wish I got parcels on Sundays.) - the Tonymoly Tomato massage pack and Benton Bee Steam cream... which was odd as I didn't remember ordering the latter, but was wondering if I'd got carried away! Turns out I didn't and the seller was meant to have sent the Mizon Night Repair Ampoule instead... lol. I emailed the ebay seller to let them know, but am really hoping they let me keep the steam cream as it looks cool (although smells a bit weird). Will see anyway.

I had another double-take moment as I got exactly the same looking 2 honey and lettuce samples as last time, but toners. I was sure they'd been essences... but when I checked the bin the last ones were indeed essences - so glad, between that and the mystery steam cream I thought I was going mad!

I also got my 3 seaweed sheet masks today, so hopefully they'll work well. :)

FrugalFashionista · 15/06/2015 13:44

What's with men and snails?

Have just prepared a 'dump in every frozen vegetable in the house' curry

Stuck with too much letover pumpkin - pumpkin focaccia coming up next...

Has anyone here tried the Too Cool for School Pumpkin Sleeping Pack? Wink

OP posts:
lucysmam · 15/06/2015 13:52

oooh, I have lots of frozen pumpkin with no purpose Frugal, do you have a recipe for the focccia?

I was inrigued by the pumpkin sleeping pack too but have the Holika White Wine one queueing to try so haven't done any research yet. It might still make it's way into my basket for future use.

leeloo, the Laneige sleeping pack I tried broke me out in little whiteheads Sad Nothing else has so far.

Actually, I'm really pleased that nothing has irritated or caused a reaction. I've never actually looked at what goes into skincare products or considered them so carefully before so would be gutted if something I spent time researching did break me out.

Re men & snails...my dp gave me a Hmm when it arrived - now he's using it in place of Savlon & wants his own (manly, pink) tube to take away!

bigbuttons · 15/06/2015 13:56

cosrx even!

leeloo1 · 15/06/2015 14:02

Forgot to say - Lucysmam thanks for the info on the Black Sugar cleansing oil, I've ordered some. Grin

FrugalFashionista · 15/06/2015 14:26

Buttons I have ordered the Cosrx Blackhead power and AHA/BHA clarifying toner from Jolse. Bundling them together as one order was a mistake, it will get stuck at customs

Just checked the tracking code of my snail bee serum order, it has arrived in Italy on May 22. Sometimes I simply have no words how deeply I dislike the dysfunctional bureaucracy in this country. The tracking details included flight codes and I saw a familiar code, my hometown up North. Wish I had used my mother's address instead...

Lucysmam I'll send you a recipe if the focaccia is any good. These pumpkin spice muffins are excellent, great for school bake sales

Does anyone know the best way of getting rid if these 'spots'? They aren't sore or irritate but they can be unsightly in bright sunshine. Since starting my AB routine my cystic acne has improved but these seem untouchable! Shall I continue as I am in the hope they disappear or invest in a treatment like tretinoin?

CornwallsFinest · 15/06/2015 15:20

If you recognise my eye, please don't out me Grin

squoosh · 15/06/2015 15:21

Beryl, is that you?

mowglik · 15/06/2015 16:13

lol sqoosh

CornwallsFinest · 15/06/2015 16:24

Grin Thankfully no!

lucysmam · 15/06/2015 16:40

Grin squoosh.

Cornwall my friend has them - her dd who is a beautician has offered to 'extract' them if she buys the correct tool...my friend has said no!

FrugalFashionista · 15/06/2015 16:41

Cornwall do you use AHA/BHA products already? I remember reading that some have found that hey help with these types of bumps, though you may want to be careful because it is near your eyes.

OP posts:
FrugalFashionista · 15/06/2015 16:43

From the pic I am not sure whether they are milia (can be extracted) or something else. My milia eventually burst/dry off spontaneously, and I think acids have helped to speed up the process.

CornwallsFinest · 15/06/2015 17:19

Thanks! I started using the Cosrx skin returning a-sol on Friday so I'm hoping that helps. It definitely has with my actual spots but not yet with this. I'll give it a few more weeks.

bigbuttons · 15/06/2015 17:29

cornwall you have a beautiful eye. I'm sure the other one is beautiful too!
