Getting my hair cut short in an hour...

... and the panic is setting in.

I've got the most rubbish, fine, limp just skimming my shoulders hair, and I'm going for the chop.

I'm thinking of, and hoping for, something like maybe Gwyneth Paltrow in Sliding Doors or that actress whose initials are GG with the lovely short haircut (I've completely forgotten her name) or Michelle Williams when she was growing out that pixie crop.

Please tell me your stories of how you went short and it was the best thing you ever did. Please!

Chop it. Mine is fine and lank when long. Had it cut into a Michelle Williams type pixie 3 years ago and never looked back. No way would I ever have long hair again. If you don't like it then it grows back. If you don't give it a go you will never know! Good luck

If you are too nervous, maybe have it chopped to jaw length and then go for the full pixie when you are comfortable.

I hanker after Rita Ora's short cut but I think I have too many years and too little hair!

I do always hold the view that hair grows so a cut is always reversible though :)

I went really short again recently after having had a non-cut for a while, and I'm so happy with it. Like you, I have really feeble, fine hair and it's now just so easy to look after.

My hairdresser also introduced me to the delights of styling powder. That's a bit of a revelation too.

I have had short hair and it needed a lot more styling than long hair...

I did it a few months ago - took this picture of Ginnifer Goodwin in and I love it

I wash it, blow dry it and put wax through it. Takes maximum of 20 mins, including shower.

Can't wait to see pics!!

Went longer than I originally wanted but the stylist was very good and as she said - you can always have more off, you can't stick it back on.

So glad you are pleased with it. I had mine longer at the fringe the first time I did it. By the time I went back for my next cut I was ready for the shorter fringe. It really is the best thing I've ever done. It's so easy to do in the mornings and looks so much better than it did long.

Here we go. I can't stop looking in the mirror.

Love it! Really suits you. I'm tempted to go short again but have put on three stone in weight since the last time I had a cut like that. Not sure it will look so good with a flabby double chin!
