Getting my hair cut short in an hour...

... and the panic is setting in.

I've got the most rubbish, fine, limp just skimming my shoulders hair, and I'm going for the chop.

I'm thinking of, and hoping for, something like maybe Gwyneth Paltrow in Sliding Doors or that actress whose initials are GG with the lovely short haircut (I've completely forgotten her name) or Michelle Williams when she was growing out that pixie crop.

Please tell me your stories of how you went short and it was the best thing you ever did. Please!

Ah thank you, you're all very kind Blush.

I've got some of that styling powder stuff Pantsalive, I'll have to wash it in the morning (always have done as it's so greasy) so I'll give it a try when I'm styling it tomorrow.

I've got a Babyliss Big Hair and I think the top layers and the fringe are still long enough to use that, so hopefully it won't take me any longer than the usual 10 minutes in the morning.

That looks so great. Where did you get it done?

Tweedledeewantstobealaydee · 02/06/2015 19:32

That is a seriously lovely haircut and it suits you perfectly.

GooodMythicalMorning · 02/06/2015 19:33

Amazing. I had my curly hair chopped and mines good but not as good as yours. Wow

WickedWax · 02/06/2015 19:47

Poly I got it done at Andrew Collinge. I'd never normally spend £47 on a cut and blow dry Shock but wanted somewhere that I thought would be good. My usual £24 hairdresser was very much 'oh no, just keep it in a nice one length bob' and wasn't keen to even talk about me going short so didn't fill me with confidence.

In fairness it took an hour and a half from start to finish, the stylist didn't talk to me for the whole cut - she seemed to be really concentrating on what she was doing, I didn't feel rushed at all, they'll trim the fringe for free if I call in between appointments, and they've given me a voucher for £10 off my next visit.

Fab really suits you!!

Goldendandelion · 02/06/2015 19:59

That looks amazing, it really suits you.

GooodMythicalMorning what kind of style do you have. I have curly hair and really want to cut it shorter but I'm not sure what works with curly hair.

GooodMythicalMorning · 02/06/2015 20:05

Sounds weird but its shorter at the back than the front so the front has lovely curly tendrils and its slightly feathered at the front to help avoid the bushy mushroom look. I'd add a pic but ds has just destroyed my hair as he wanted to brush it do instead of curls ive got frizz Grin I'll try to add one later when I re wash it.

Goldendandelion · 02/06/2015 20:17

That sounds similar to styles I have been looking at. Like an inverted bob?

Sorry for hijacking your thread Wicked.

MrsRossPoldark · 02/06/2015 20:21

OMG that's gorgeous! Now where are my scissors?!

WickedWax · 02/06/2015 20:59

You look amazing. Fabulous bone structure. I wish my hair would sit like that, but it doesn't.

Pantsalive · 02/06/2015 21:09

That looks fabulous Wicked. Congratulations!
I hope it is nice and easy to style in the morning.

JoyceDivision · 02/06/2015 22:42

Ah I am growing out av short pixie to the ginnifer goodwin length and hopefully eventually to SueGenerispic length and it's spurring me on and stopping me from going back to get it all chopped off again Grin
