Not sure if I should be starting the new thread as I'm the last poster on the old one - is this how it works?

OP posts:

GO Herbs! Go Herbs! Holding your hand, angel. Am sure you will be a Star.

Blackduck · 17/06/2015 09:49

Herbs you are not going fail......

:)

herbaceous · 17/06/2015 09:53

Thing is, I really LOVE my tutor and my mentor and while I don't think I'll fail (unless I totally balls it up) I really want to impress them. Lame, I know.

bigTillyMint · 17/06/2015 09:56

Go Herbs - you will be brilliant, as you have been all alongSmile

And hope you have your tissues at the ready!

herbaceous · 17/06/2015 10:00

I'm welling up already.

motherinferior · 17/06/2015 10:13

GO HERBS!!!!!!!

herbaceous · 17/06/2015 10:15

And I don't know what to wear. It's going to be hot and stuffy, but I feel I should have some kind of sleeve, and no cleavage. Lightweight trousers and shortsleeved shirt perhaps.

hattymattie · 17/06/2015 10:54

Bit late off the mark this morning Herbs but I'm sure you're knocking em dead at the moment.Smile

Monty - go beg at the shop - worth a try.

herbaceous · 17/06/2015 11:02

It hasn't started yet! Kick-off's at 12.45, Greenwich Summer Time. I have given up with short-sleeved shirts. They were a) too restrictive on the arms, and b) needed ironing. And c) only went with things that also needed ironing. Back in my usual leggings and dress combo.

wordassociationfootball · 17/06/2015 11:52

Herbs you will impress like gangbusters. It's going to be great. There will be tears and high fives. Will be thinking of you. I'm wearing leggings and a dress as a tribute unto you.

wordassociationfootball · 17/06/2015 11:55

Crepes what have my novel....

I have started this thread for any thoughts.

Herbs You will be fine. Breathe. Outfit is excellent… All good. Smile

motherinferior · 17/06/2015 12:07

Re leggings and dresses: am pondering white leggings for the lighter-weight summer frock. Obviously not of bum-skimming length. Is this just delusion induced by v chic ice-maideny Finnish neighbour?

bigTillyMint · 17/06/2015 13:05

Thinking of you Herbs.

I personally wouldn't wear white leggings MI as I have thunder thighs, and I don't think it would be a good look on me. But you are much smaller and could look just as chic as your neighbour! I do wear white jeans, but they are thick so you can't see my cellulite so easily.

motherinferior · 17/06/2015 13:13

Oh, I was only thinking of visibility from knee downwards! Not thigh-revealing ones.

Rosebag · 17/06/2015 14:19

Monty try begging at the shop first. If no joy, eBay or Amazon market place or even a dress exchange ( a lot of them do accessories too) and then buy one you really love. It doesn't matter if it's a rip off if you love it...
My DH is always doing this with jewellery. I always hate it....he always looks dejected.

Try them on MI and if you love the look, then... Unfortunately, they look like bandages on me. Great that Crepeys like the leggings and dress look!

WAF I am reading, I promise...

Today I have a headache. After breakfast with maestro the terrible studiously avoiding the word "choir" like the plague... And doing a looooong filibuster to last until her pay and display ran out, I have carried out the scintillating tasks of picking up the dry cleaning, and DDs specs from the optician. DS is home as this is UCAS focus week at school and he has no sessions today. I am now seated in The garden centre cafe rifling around in my bag for some co codamol. But I have bought some nice bedding plants with a voucher I had.

NUFC69 · 17/06/2015 14:44

I guess that by now your lesson will be mostly over, Herbs, and you will have done brilliantly well? You know we're all rooting for you. Monty, I would try the shop too - they can only say no, and you have lost nothing. MI, go for the white leggings if you think they will look ok. Like BTM I have large thighs and, as a result of my op, even larger knees, so I usually avoid even tight trousers.

We have woken up to grey skies and the forecast is heavy rain and thunder, so we're lying in bed trying to decide what to do today.

Blackduck · 17/06/2015 14:52

Knee downwards fine MI Grin

motherinferior · 17/06/2015 15:51

I have enormous thighs, but if they are covered this might work.

bigTillyMint · 17/06/2015 16:15

Oh yes my footballers rugby props knees would look even worse than my thighs I think!

NU we need more holiday updates - what have you been up to and what lovely food have you been sampling?

lalsy · 17/06/2015 16:20

Ooomph! Have spent much of the day clearing tall cupboard full of my past...and broken gadgets. As well as some university work with hilariously crisp comments, I found six (6,vi) working pencils and four (4,iv) inflatable mattress repair kits. Life is sweet, my friends.

bigTillyMint · 17/06/2015 16:23

Lalsy I am not surprised you found the inflatable mattress repair kits - I have never been able to find the hole in one yet and we have had many!

herbaceous · 17/06/2015 16:33

All over! I think it went very well - the two observers were smiling throughout, the learners got on with what they were supposed to do, and apparently the scary ofsted lady (one of the observers) said to my tutor that she was 'very impressed'.

Then it all got very emotional, as it was my last lesson with them, their last lesson with each other and proper teacher, and for some their last ever literacy class as it's being cut. Thanks Tories. One old lady, 79, with tears in her eyes said: "I don't know what I'll do now. Since my son died I've been very lonely, and as my husband is blind I wanted to learn to read to him. But now there will be no class and I can't read yet." I had to go and busy myself with my bag for a bit at that point. Sad

Rosebag · 17/06/2015 16:46

Nice news, Herbs even of things were a bit bittersweet at the end. Great job. Well done indeed Star Wine

QueenQueenie · 17/06/2015 16:51

YAY! VERY WELL DONE Herby One.
So pleased it went well. Not surprised it was emotional - your old lady's story almost made ME cry
I remember vividly when you went for the interview and were convinced you had ballsed it up big time.... and look at you now! Brilliant. flowers
