Do they get lots of help? Wondering if they do their running and work outs at 5am as they seem quite hands on mums.

Indeed MI.

And grooming (at Sam Cam's level) is really time consuming. And costly.

6Musiclover · 01/06/2015 18:18

AhEat getting all upset on Sam's behalf. Bless ya.The women could do with getting a decent meal down herSmile

Sansarya · 01/06/2015 18:19

Really pinkfrocks? I would've thought that having babies in their pushchairs on the gym floor was some sort of serious Health and Safety violation!

6Musiclover · 01/06/2015 18:22

Ah, I see Eat You favour the skinny look as well. I see why you're so defensive nowSmile

Agree Word. Buying free time allows you to use that time to exercise/groom yourself/whatever it is you choose to do. It's not exactly rocket science, as they say.

Coastingit · 01/06/2015 18:32

Popping back to retract my personal comments about SamCam. No need and irrelevant to the thread. Soz.

Coastingit · 01/06/2015 18:33

And also to muse that I would prefer Kate Moss' lifestyle of coffee and fags to stay slim and gorgeous. I wonder if she works out...

Baddz · 01/06/2015 18:42

Well, I today have done;
School run
2.5 hours housework today post half term frenzy clean
Popped into the volunteer centre where I work.
Went to shops
Went for a walk (can't run...buggered knee)
Went to check on my mother
School run
Dinner
Cleaning up after dinner
Getting DC ready for football training
If I had a nanny I wouldn't do the school runs.
If I had a cleaner I wouldn't do the cleaning
If I could afford to order groceries online I wouldn't need to shop
So that's about 4 hours from today I could have been doing yoga, at the gym, eating salad, or with my personal trainer.
So...yes. If you have that level of help it's totally possible to look that slim, toned and groomed. To spend that much time on yourself.
If, however, you are like me, and don't, then you are probably a size 14, manage to brush your teeth and your hair in the mornings and really need your roots doing Smile
God! Imagine having a cook! Sigh.......

TheWordFactory · 01/06/2015 18:43

coasting me thinks not Grin.

I suspect though, that Mossy spends a fair bit of time on her appearance.

DinosaursRoar · 01/06/2015 18:45

I worked for woman like this - they never watch any TV. Or read books that arent work related. It's all work, family, then personal time is excercise and grooming. Haircuts would be done in the working day, but at salons close to the office and reports would be taken to read/edit with them, no reading Hello! Personal trainers would come to the house or we had a gym round the corner from the office (rare days without breakfast meetings would be swapped for gym session).

The last 2 I worked for were usually in the office /breakfast meeting/gym well before 8, but home before 6pm to see the DCs. Personal training sessions would be later on, once little ones were in bed/teens had done homework.

It takes being driven, but then, the sort of woman who ends up being "rather a big deal" in the city are usually quite driven. Few people are driven in just one area of their lives.

(Oh and private schooling helps, even for day pupils, the days are longer and lots of the 'extra' stuff like sports and music lessons are done on site without someone having to run them about and think about booking them.)

6Musiclover · 01/06/2015 18:47

i'm very happy that being slim is so important to you and gives you lots of pleasure Eat . I'd rather be a bit overweight and not be obsessed with eating and body image. Perhaps you should give it a try Smile have a glass a wine or a bar of chocolate or something pleasurable. Do you the world of goodGrin

itsbetterthanabox · 01/06/2015 18:47

Eatupnow it isn't a fact that she looks 'amazing', it's an opinion. Your opinion.
If you wanna exercise do it if you don't then don't. If you can't because you have to work and raise children then don't beat yourself up! You have a hectic life. It doesn't really matter what we look like. And yes being a millionaire with nothing else to do does make it easier to devote endless time to your appearance. But that appearance still doesn't matter!

TheWordFactory · 01/06/2015 18:48

I went to LA recently on business and was up at silly o'clock due to jet lag.

I went in search of coffee and pancakes and the gym and pool and spa in the hotel were full.

The lady in the hairdressers told me she opened at 4.45 am for the before work blow dries!!!

pinkfrocks · 01/06/2015 18:50

baddz why are online groceries more expensive than going to the shops? Usually they aren't ( depending where you buy your food) and you save time and fuel.

Presumably you won't do another shop this week- or maybe one- and you won't do 2.5 hrs cleaning every day either?

some suggestions- said kindly and playing devil's advocate:

And if you worked for ££ rather than volunteered you'd be able to afford online shops and a cleaner.

Athenaviolet · 01/06/2015 18:53

they seem quite hands on mums.

They pay their PR people to have the public think this about them.

6Musiclover · 01/06/2015 18:55

I love walking. It's my main form of exercise. I hate the gym, Gym bunnies and excercise bores, not to mention health/food bores.
I'm sure all that angst about how you look and what you eat can't be good for your healthSmile
I'm pretty happy with the way I look, but would like to lose a bit of weight. however, I am healty, relatively fit, and most of all happy, even though I'm menopausal.
Lots to be said for wine and chocolate and the love of a good manGrin

TheWordFactory · 01/06/2015 18:55

Lots of people shop for bargains pink.

And I don't know how many DC you have and how old they are, but no internet shop lasts all week! I have a delivery religiously each weekend, but I'm always buying fresh stuff too!

Coastingit · 01/06/2015 18:56

It's a bit ridiculous though, life all comes down to choices, like saying you could work rather than volunteer and so on. People do get very upset about the weight issue and take it personally, but perhaps because it all ties in to other choices - and maybe because it even implies that you are less 'driven' if you don't maintain a slim figure.

TheWordFactory · 01/06/2015 18:57

athen I suspect they are both hands on mums. No reason not to think so.

But when you take out of the equation, cleaning, laundry, food shopping, cooking, gardening, looking after pets, that leaves plenty of free time (particulraly if you have reliable and freely available child care).

TheWordFactory · 01/06/2015 18:58

Oh and of course neither has a job!

Baddz · 01/06/2015 18:58

Pink...sounds great!! please find me a Term time only job that fits in with DC school and Dhs job (works away) I've been looking for 2 years with no luck. Been to 2 interviews recently which turned out to be for zero hours contracts.
That would be super if you could do that!
Also, could you sort out care for my mum? Obv I can't pay.
Oh, and cover for the people I currently take to hospital appts etc?
Bloody hell, you're a marvel! Smile

Eatupnow · 01/06/2015 19:01

Did you miss my post ^ where I said I love to eat and drink ?

I love to work out too - win win.

You enjoy being a fatty Grin

Baddz · 01/06/2015 19:03

Seriously, though...imagine having a cook?
Having meetings at breakfast about what lovely nutritious meals she/he would cook for the rest of the day...
Sigh...
If I ever win the lottery that's what I would buy.
A cook.

6Musiclover · 01/06/2015 19:05

some posters on here are just regular wonder women aren't they. Their halos must be blinding themSmile
Baddz You sound like you have a lot on your plate.
