Love it, very Steve Nicks.

Cocolepew · 30/05/2015 21:27

Not unless you're Batgirl.

SouthWestmom · 30/05/2015 21:28

not unless you are younger than 18 very tall and very thin.

Runningupthathill82 · 31/05/2015 08:11

Yikes. While it looks good on the model, I can't imagine it looking good on anyone aged over 17 in real life unless they're

  1. Kate Bush on stage
  2. Stevie Nicks on stage
  3. At a goth night
  4. dressing up for Halloween. I'd love to be proved wrong though so, if you go for it OP, post us a photo!
Fedupnagging · 31/05/2015 08:24

I love it too - if you can pull it off, go for it - would go for different shoes though, black or metallic pointy heels.

Unless it's Gotham city keep it for evening.
I'm tempted to get it myself but I've banned myself from buying any more black dresses.

Pumpkinette · 31/05/2015 14:14

It reminds me of the Scottish Widows advert from the 90's. (The blond woman with the cape)

I think it would be a nice dress on the right person, but I don't think many people could pull it off. The fabric looks thin and would show up any lumps and bumps and it does look a bit superheroish. It might work for you if you are a bit goth/ alternative. If not I would steer clear.

lurkingaround · 31/05/2015 14:24

Its a superhero costume

lurkingaround · 31/05/2015 14:26

Tho it is a bit like Solange's wedding dress which I thought was the most gorgeous.

SouthWestmom · 31/05/2015 14:34

If you put it on its just the right side of short and hangs beautifully. The Cape part goes over your shoulders but hangs just behind your arms. It just felt quite glam if you wore heels and had a quiff.

CloserToFiftyThanTwenty · 31/05/2015 14:36

Do you not remember the Scottish Widow adverts..?

SouthWestmom · 31/05/2015 14:43

Maybe that's who I'm secretly channelling

ZeroFunDame · 31/05/2015 14:45

That style of dress is fabulous.

Depends whether the fabric works for the cut and the length works for you.

Dowser · 31/05/2015 14:48

Amanda Lamb wasnt it?

ItsRainingInBaltimore · 31/05/2015 14:51

Unless it's Gotham city keep it for evening

That has made me piss my pants. Grin

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 31/05/2015 14:54
Grin

Also laughing at Ghastly, darling.

I love MN.

ShadowsInTheDarkness · 31/05/2015 14:56

Ooh I love it! But then I'm a goth and would wear that down the pub with fishnets and DMs Grin

If you like it wear it. Fuck what anyone else thinks. People tend to look their best when they are confident, and if you feel amazing in it you will exude confidence and pull it off.

ZeroFunDame · 31/05/2015 14:59

Don't wear heels - that would look silly. Barely there completely flat sandals or slippery things. Unless you can carry off a sleek, flat ankle boot. (Nothing goth like or stompy.)

SouthWestmom · 31/05/2015 15:04

See in my youth Id have worn it with converse or DMs and a wrist of beads. As an older lady I'm thinking simple - have some fab irregular choice block heels that would work or maybe a small kitten sling back or white heeled sandals.
Casually dressed up.
