Anyone tried a paraben and silicone free shampoo?

If you've ever tried a paraben and silicone free shampoo, can you please tell me what make, would you recommend it or never touch it again?

I use the Herbal Essences clearly naked shampoo and I really like it. Cheap too.
My DD (9) uses A Beautiful Life honey shampoo. Not cheap but she loves the bear shaped bottle. It doesn't foam but her hair is lovely. I have borrowed it and I like it too.

I've been using more natural hair products for a couple of years. The following should all be silicone free and I think they're probably paraben free but I'm not 100% sure:

Bodyshop rainforest - didn't like
Boots botanics hydrating shampoo - OK
Moogoo - didn't suit me but it's well reviewed so maybe worth a try
MopTop - I love this stuff but it's no longer available in the UK
Earth Friendly Baby shampoo/bodywash - pretty good and convenient as can also use as shower gel
Jessicurl - OK
Boots Naked shampoo - OK
Korres - OK

Where are you based (PM me)? I've got quite a few bottles of natural hair products including some of the above that I no longer use so if you wanted to try them I'd happily give you a selection. It can be an expensive business trying out all these silicone-, paraben-, alcohol- free products until you find one that suits you!

I am using Aveda- not sure if that fits your bill but it's the only one for ages that does not seem to leave a residue on my scalp which eventually causes itching. It is madly pricey but so far seems worth it.

Did not like Naked, and did not rate Organix that much.

I like the Waitrose Pure shampoo. It's definitely sulphate free, but not sure about parabens. I tried a couple of the Naked shampoos, but didn't really get on with them, though I know of others who really like them, especially the 2 in 1 one.

I am using Moogoo shampoo and conditioner at the moment. Love it, but it's a tad pricey.
Once this is gone (it does seem to last for ages!), I'll give Faith in Nature a try.

I've been using the Loccitane repairing shampoo and conditioner on and off for a couple of weeks (I was sent a gift box full of their stuff for my birthday by a very generous friend).

It's this one Loccitane repairing shampoo

I think it's lovely; my normally lank fine hair is now thicker and shinier. Only downside is it seems to be quite static. It says it's silicon-free on the bottle, not sure about parabens? (Not actually sure what they are!).

Has anyone tried Swell? I like the idea of a volume shampoo but don't want to fork out £25 if it's rubbish.

I used a Body Shop one and can't recall exactly what it was called. I have dry hair so I thought it would be a good idea. I used it for 6 washes, then took it back as my hair looked awful and felt even more dry. They were really nice and took it back but the lady did say to me that I should use it for at least 15 or so washes and then it would be good. The perceived wisdom seems to be that you will start off thinking it's awful, then your hair will adjust and you will love it. I wasn't willing to try it that long, plus I didn't think it was going to get better! I realise there is a lot of rubbish in shampoo but sometimes I think it's only a matter of time before another scare story emerges about something else.

Another vote for herbal essences 0%, makes my hair feel great and its always on offer somewhere.

I didn't like body shop rainforest radiance but lots of people do.

I didn't like naked shine but LOVE naked bounce.

I like loreal everiche too.

If you're a member of Costco, they have a great own brand paraben/silicone/sulphate free shampoo.

Don't know what exactly you're lookin for, OP, but Herbal Essences 0% is one of these typical greenwashed things - no parabens etc., but loads of other rubbish like SLS and SLES.

I just bought some of that happy stuff the other week (on offer in Sainsbos) Ooh but I bought the morrocan oil stuff stupidly and it's far too rich for my hair - used it once and now sitting gathering dust.

How do you feel like you're washing your hair if the shampoo doesn't bubble? Confused

I'm interested to try paraben/silicone free shampoo but already have an embarrassing bathroom cabinet which has turned in to a shampoo and conditioner graveyard. In what way is it better?

I've been using Happy Hair days from Sainsburys, it really worked and stopped my mad itching. I couldn't get to Sainsburys this week and had run out so I ended up with the Herbal Essences one, it's ok, but my hair is getting really greasy quickly and I'm also itching a bit, so I'm definitely going back to the Happy Hair days one.

I've used Faith in Nature for years. Before that I used another similar brand. I've used some Green People and some Neal's Yard but didn't get on with the ones I tried.
I'm up for a change though now so this is a timely thread!

I tried faith in nature which was horrible! Shampoo made my hair so dry I couldn't get a comb through it and the conditioner was so watery. Terrible. However the loccitane repairing one was lovely (just expensive) thinking about trying Jason next..
