The Met Ball - an exhibition of ugly dresses

Scrolling through the hundreds of picture on the DM website I was desperately trying to find a non fug dress. I know the Met Ball isn't about restraint but does it need to be so tacky?

I don't mean to sound like Mother Immaculata but for the love of God ladies, do you need to show so much flesh? It's the kind of thing I'd expect from Geri Halliwell circa 2001.

Now cover up or you'll catch a chill.

This looks like it should be a fun, camped up event but all the celebrities photographed look fecking miserable - posing with deadly serious expressions, what a waste of what should have been a great night out. Grow a smile!

Beyonces got a bit weird in the last few years I must say, she's lost her muchness!! although I know jayZs apparently cheated a lot,with a child as well, must be rough in the public eye maybe she feels she needs to up the ante... Especially being round Kim k...feeling a bit guilty now :(

I thought the most stylish person was Grace Coddington - you have to go right to the end of the DM photos - wearing a blue silk Chinese pyjama suit.

But when you have seen it all, done it all, worn it all and still remained stylish, like Grace, then you wear pyjamas to a ball like it's the most natural thing in the world, and you make everyone else look like they are trying too hard.

I liked Uma Thurman, but I do admit a girl crush so she can do no wrong.

Grace Coddington is fab - she looks like she doesn't give a fig, just wants to please herself

Uma Thurman is utterly stunning, but I thought that even her dress was a bit too fleshy
