Events like this really make me laugh. Do the celebrities pay to attend? If not, how does the event make money, unless for normal (if rich) people buying tickets in order to snigger at the dresses in person?
I like a good frock as much as anybody else but I find it comical and a little pathetic that events like this are invented as an excuse for wearing insane outfits/ taking pictures/ filling airtime/ keeping stylists and make up artists busy and we're all supposed to go along with the illusion that it's a momentous happening.
It reminds me of a fancy dress party without the humour. In fact, I know what it is. It's the Oscars 2. I think that daft events like this have multiplied in order to provide things to post on social media.
Imagine what it's like in there. You could look at a few exhibits (ooh, a Red Army uniform!), stand around hoping to be photographed and wonder how soon you could go home without appearing rude.
(I hated that green dress, but at least Kendall Jenner looked better than Beyoncé, who needs to get a grip, and Beyoncé's sister, who looked like she was wearing one of those foam rubber outfits they used to make people run around in on It's a Knockout)
