So what colour Birkenstocks this summer...?

That's it really - I need a new pair of Madrids to last me all summer. I'm tempted by the pastel colours, or even navy, but wonder if I should just stick to a classic black patent.

I went for Madrid in a dark gold, think they were called brown-gold or similar. I love them Smile

TheLastThneed · 08/04/2015 16:12

I love my patent navy blue with red soles Smile

LBOCS · 08/04/2015 16:15

I'm going with 'whichever ones TK Maxx have in'. It makes the decision making process much easier Grin

Ffuchsia · 08/04/2015 16:25

I've just bought navy with red soles. I've seen an orange pair with purple soles, would quite like those as well!

LemonYellowSun · 08/04/2015 16:36

Oooh I feel like a purchase coming on. Where is selling for decent prices atm??

2fat4that · 08/04/2015 16:56

I bought mine online from Germany on this website for £29.99 including postage and they arrived in 3 days.

NorbertDentressangle · 08/04/2015 17:00

I noticed a lot in TKMaxx yesterday but they only had the Madrids (in quite bright colours from what I remember).

Has anyone seen the Gizeh ones for a good price anywhere?

NoPsipsinaChocolateOrange · 08/04/2015 17:09

I got some Milano ones from Amazon for £25 last week. Dark blue, matt finish.

Slightly too big but with another hole they will be fine.

Tommy · 08/04/2015 17:13

I've just ordered mocha ones form the GB version of the site 2fat4that suggested. There seems to be a shortage of colours on my size in the style i like this year.
I have navy Gizeh ones though that are great

Ffuchsia · 08/04/2015 17:56

They have them in Costco if you are near one.

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 08/04/2015 19:20

I was going to say costco too. That's my way of buying. Whichever gizeh costco have in stock when I go in. Blush

LBOCS · 09/04/2015 19:45

I've procured a Costco card. I'm buying Birkenstocks this weekend, hurrah!

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 09/04/2015 20:04

Crocs are cheap for the dc as well £15. Also havaianas and nike trainers.
Chicken ham and leek pie, pancake mix, maple syrup, skippy peanut butter, Nutella. Huge bunch of bananas for £1, large tub if pomegranate seeds for £2.99, pink lady apples that are huge again £2.99 and juicier than any supermarket ones. And the chicken fillet burgers! Frozen ones teenage dc here love them.

I bet you don't just but Birkenstocks Wink

LBOCS · 09/04/2015 20:10

I don't think I will either. The tear and share garlic bread is amazing too, and they do big packets of fresh crab pasta.

I'm going to end up spending a fortune; I'm going to the massive Chinese supermarket next door too!

birkiekid · 09/04/2015 20:12

Has anyone seen the flatform or wedge Birkenstocks in store? I'm interested in the idea of them shortarse but would like to see them in real life before ordering.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 09/04/2015 20:13

I like my white patent Gizeh with pink soles, they were my favourites last summer.

And the navy blue patent ones with red soles. I only wear Gizeh these days, find Madrids too uncomfortable.

Clayhead · 09/04/2015 20:16

Patent cerise from the footshopping website linked to above.

Thinking about patent red...

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 09/04/2015 20:16

They had the white with pink in store the other week and kicking myself for not buying them but h was with me and trolley was already bulging (huge paddling pool with filter £30!!)

Hope they still have them next week when I go.

No chinese supermarket here just tk max, Smyths toys and b&q. Oh and poundland might pop in there.

birkiekid · 09/04/2015 20:18

I love the Gizeh but I bought Taboras last summer and they are really comfortable and look good too.

LBOCS · 09/04/2015 20:28

I've got patent turquoise from a few years ago which I love, but I'm thinking I should get something relatively neutral as well.

I'd love a tk Maxx near ours but it's the one on the Purley Way so instead, I just have to try and avoid Ikea...

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 09/04/2015 20:59

Oh god ikea. I wish I lived closer to an ikea but at the same time I'm glad I don't. Nearest costco is reading. Im just down the road in Wokingham.

Whichoneisit · 09/04/2015 21:02

I have turquoise, red and gold/brown.

All costco buys!

Red and navy are always winners

LBOCS · 09/04/2015 21:08

Costco, Ikea, John Lewis at home... They're all close enough for me to 'pop out' to. It's a problem!

Windowbasket · 09/04/2015 21:47

I have actually gone for black. Nice, summery colour! Might go crazy though and get some red ones too!

carrie74 · 10/04/2015 04:29

White Mayari have been my colour of choice for about 3-4 years now. I almost always buy on that German site mentioned above.
