what footwear between boots and Birkenstocks?

Tommy · 06/04/2015 20:14

not really sandal weather yet but a bit warm for my boots and leggings look. What shoes can i get to tide me over until my cropped trousers and birks look?
I need something with a strap or cut fairly high to stay on with my non- existent instep and they need to be flattish and comfy.
Any ideas?

:) Google "schuh" and look on their website. ... If you look under the brands you will find Toms, Converse and Superga.

Alternatively if they're not you're thing if you look in the women's section under what's new you might find something different.

Converse here, or ballet flats. And I'm toying with getting these although I suspect most people will hate them!

Smokedsalmonbagel · 06/04/2015 20:54

Im just thinkining of swapping my boots for my converse!
Cant wait to get my birks back out!

Tommy · 06/04/2015 21:05

think I might need them a little smarter Fairylee (thanks for explaining to the old lady here Grin)
I can't keep ballet flats on
I've been looking at these and these but not sure if they are too old ladyish...

The first clarks link ones are much nicer than the marks ones ... not my cup of tea personally but I can see they are nice shoes :) I'd go for a nude or a tan colour over a blue though but that's just my personal preference.

HowlyBabblyBansheeeeeee · 06/04/2015 21:18

I like both, in fact I've bought a couple of pairs of loafers to see me through till birkie time.

I'm also vv old though Grin

TheHappinessTrap · 06/04/2015 21:21

I was going to suggest brogues. Of course loafers make a lot of sense too!

Tommy · 06/04/2015 21:24

thanks all - might well go for a few and see which ones I like.

I think I will buy these. I had to throw away the most amazing pair of boat shoes after three years at the end of last summer, they were amazing and I am searching for a replacement but most Mae me look really frumpy.

RingtheBells · 06/04/2015 21:30

I like both you linked to, also boat shoes or driving loafers.

I also am old though.

Trebushay · 06/04/2015 21:37

I have patent loafers and next converse I too am old (ish)

lavendersun · 06/04/2015 21:40

I have just gone for clogs thanks to a thread on here.

I really love them.

Greenrememberedhills · 06/04/2015 21:50

I just did Google Fairy, and it turns out that daps, platforms and espadrilles are "new"! Smile

bigbuttons · 06/04/2015 22:01

The clogs look lovely. What do you wear them with? Bear-footed like sandles? I'm cluelessBlush

bigbuttons · 06/04/2015 22:02

Bear- footed?? Christ I'm tired. Bare- footed!!

goingmadinthecountry · 06/04/2015 22:04

I'm old too and am searching for the holy grail - shoes to be a primary school teacher in that my own children won't laugh at. Boots I can do, silver low top converse come out on PE day. We're a long way off sandals. What are you all planning on wearing your loafers with?

lastlines · 06/04/2015 22:07

How about Vans? they have all sorts of styles in at the moment including suede and rubber (nicer than they sound) deck shoes and low top trainers etc - perfect for spring.

lastlines · 06/04/2015 22:13

some of their blue shoes here

Tommy · 06/04/2015 22:33

I'd forgotten about clogs! love them
