Wow I now have very little in my wardrobe in our room. Which is the one I use on a day to day basis. Including what I've packed I'm down to 27 things, the other 10 should be shoes, but I've not tackled these yet.
When I get back from hols I'll tackle my other wardrobe and see if some of the things in there are better than the ones I've selected... I've got a bright red blazer here at the mo and not sure whether that's the best choice for example. And I've my barry manilow tshirt which probably will be swapped ;)
One thing is for sure no chance of anything creasing!

Hi all just popping in to catch up. Have spent a happy half hour going through all the links. So many lovely things!

From me I ordered this dress today

pinterest.com/pin/286330488785792985/

Also have started a new eating and fitness plan to get rid of the last of the baby wobble. Only been a week but so far so good Grin

That's a good clear out Karbea how did you decide what went and what stayed ?

OneLittleLady · 26/04/2015 17:53

Lovely dress ellis I wish I had the figure for that kind of style. I just followed you on pin btw, i hope you don't mind. My name is the same as on here so you'll know it's me

Wow, that's some good going karbea!

Trying to gear myself up to do some work but I just have no enthusiasm for it right now which pains me a little. I know I have to do it but maybe I'll take an hour out just for me to recharge a little and then try again

Drywhiteplease · 26/04/2015 17:56

Hi MNVers, I'm enjoying the talk of style personalities - sounds like it was a great guide for you Shop. I like the idea of eliminating even more shopping choices, so long as it's the stuff you like!
I'm quite tempted but also concerned about being given romantic for my curves. I'm just not into girly, lacey, delicate stuff, I'm far too clumsy. I like the sound of rock chick Karbea, but doubt I'd be an ingenue. It'll be interesting to see what they come up with for you Bernice.

The sleb lookalike chat is also fascinating and spot on for those of you I've met. There must be loads of dramatic winters out there for you shop - what about Courtney Cox or Angelina?

Last time we played the Who would play you in a film game at work, I got Selma Hayek which was rather flattering although not entirely accurate!

Karbea · 26/04/2015 18:19

ellis I've thrown things that were either faded/stained or misshapen etc.
I put in a black bag things that need to go to the charity shop or ebay, these were either things that aren't my colours, lots of blues and blacks or I definitely won't wear, an orange floaty top I got from a local boutique that my dh and the sales assistant made me get for example.
I then put everything else in groups ie t shirts, vests, jumpers, blouses, jeans, trousers, jackets etc.
Then using unfancy as a guide I've allowed myself:
3 tshirts - I know I've 4 packed so will reshuffle when I get home (bye, bye barry).
2 tanks/vests - again I've got two packed so will swap out with the ones in my drawer.
2 shirts - both packed.
She had a knit vest, I don't have one of those so I added another top instead.
Sweatshirt - I kept my browny/khaki River Island top. I wore this a lot last month, but haven't this so may swap out at some point. ( I know this isn't the rules!).
MIDI dress - I don't have one, so another top.
Shorts x 2- I've packed my white ones, but I've kept in my wardrobe longer silky taupe ones which might be more home than holiday. Not sure how much use I'll get out of these, but will see. Might swap for skirts.
4 pairs of jeans, inc one coloured, one distressed - I kept jbrand, frame, my light blue distressed zara ones, and green michael kors ones - haven't worn the MK ones in two years, but moved them to this wardrobe after colours... Let's see.
Cape cardi - I've a brown old one from RI which I tend to wear around the house, but it would look good with jeans and a t.
Joggers my lovely green ones.
Blazer - red one.
Leather jacket - my brown MK one.
Skirt - kept out my brown leather zara one which I've never worn.
Short sleeve shirt - haven't got so I used a cream top with short sleeves,
Jean jacket - I don't have, but do have a mulberry safari jacket in taupe.
Tunic - long sleeve light jumper.

So basically they were my available "slots" I looked at each of my piles and picked out my favourite pieces, or things I should wear, like the zara skirt.
Everything else has now been squashed into my other wardrobes in the other room.

Actions for when I get home are shoes, sorting out the black bags and going thru those two wardrobes in the same fashion!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 26/04/2015 19:32

Well done Karbea, I need to face the reality of a wardrobe clear out soon. Bought another 50 slim hangers today in the hopes that I can free up a little more space first!

Stokey I thought the same, but apparently it's ingenue that's the frilly lacy girly one. I still struggle, but I think romantic just means glamourous, luxurious fabrics, very feminine in a sexy way (draping and ruching) rather than frills and flounces. I think I am 60% classic, 30% romantic and 10% dramatic Grin

Love all the lookalikes! Dry is spot on with the first 3.

Bernice sorry if I missed it, have you booked your style day?

shopafrolic · 26/04/2015 19:37

I am so drunk. Had an NCT couple to lunch. Got carried away. May never recover. Was sick (never a good look) Angry so ashamed

mazj4cks · 26/04/2015 19:44

Hahaha shop that is brilliant! I can't handle Sunday drinking now...unless it's a bank holiday! Grin that will be a lovely hangover tomorrow Confused

Karbea · 26/04/2015 19:51

I don't think ingenue necessarily means frills and flounchy (real word?!?) for me, it meant embellishment, and for lace it needed the 'natural' bit to give it a harder edge, biker boots (with embellishment) or a biker jacket, Lacey top and jeans.
I think romantic is someone like nigella Lawson isn't it?

Karbea · 26/04/2015 19:52

Oh shop tut! tut!

Ellisisland · 26/04/2015 19:56

shop that's hilarious! Hope the hangover isn't too bad Wink

karbea that's really interesting thanks. I love a good clear out but often regret throwing at least one thing away.

shopafrolic · 26/04/2015 19:59

p.s. I did wait until they left before I was sick

shopafrolic · 26/04/2015 19:59

Shameful

Karbea · 26/04/2015 20:08

ellis I'm rubbish at actually get rid of things! I've now two full black bags in my spare room! that should bee bayed or given to charity shops :/

shopafrolic · 26/04/2015 20:08

I got told Angelina Stokey Not sure she pukes though Grin

Drywhiteplease · 26/04/2015 20:20

GOT IT!!!!!! Erin O'Connor is Shop, have been thinking about it all day.

Shop at least you had a good time and aren't dull Smile

Stokey · 26/04/2015 20:40

Lol Shop nothing like day time drinking to let the side down. I'm sure Angelina has been there, she used to carry blood around her neck in a vial!

Interesting about Nigella, I'd think of her as classic but I can see how she is romantic if it means feminine and sexy.

shopafrolic · 26/04/2015 21:02

Yes!!!! Will take Erin x

QueenCardigan · 26/04/2015 21:35

Classy shop Grin!

I think of Nigella as romantic classic too.

For me ingenue is all in the detailing-pintucks, embroidery, ruching etc. Im essentially a natural ie casual/easy but look best with small feminine details. Deginitely no frills and flounces for me but no masculine tailoring either. I love the romantic casual look as its very grown up and sophisticated. Another way I look at my style is elegant casual which is a phrase I picked up from a restaurant website. I like looking casual but not too casual or plain and I like to have my nails painted and bling and the occasional heels but always be comfortable and not restricted. The hoc bumpf says I should be ready to run in the woods at any time Hmm Grin

Karbea · 26/04/2015 21:40

How funny I can do masculine tayloring I think, would check but doggy asleep on my lap.
Definitely no mention of woods!

Topazandpearl · 26/04/2015 21:50

Been there, done that Shop, hope you are recovering.

Yes, can so see Erin O'Connor/Shop!

The Nigella reference is spot on for romantic classic. I am definitely a classic. I remember Lib saying something about classics needing collars (which is me) and Me &Em ruched dresses are amongst my best looks, which is the Nigella romantic look.

OneLittleLady · 26/04/2015 21:53

i wonder, what SP would you think for me? I don't think I do masculine well, not at all but beyond that, I don't know

DP has gone home Sad

QueenCardigan · 26/04/2015 21:55

karbea you're a natural ingenue and I'm an ingenue natural so the same but different Confused. She spent a lot of time deliberating which way round I shoukd be but settled on me being a natural with ingenue traits. So your main sheet would have focused presumably on ingenue whereas mine focuses on natural. I think it's more my body shape that doesn't lend itself to masculine tailoring. It made sense as ive never looked good in shirts or suiting type things.
