Can't link, because of the paywall, but if anyone else has seen the picture of Samantha Cameron on the front of today's Sunday Times..... tell me, is this fashionable? Did I miss the memo??

She is a beautiful, slim woman but I always think she never quite gets it right. She's not quite cool/scruffy chic enough to pull off granny chic. She needs to lose the frumpy fringe.

Saurus72 · 29/03/2015 22:05

Elastic waistbands seem to be everywhere this season. Fine if you are 20 and a size 8. Less so if not, as it just veers towards frumpsville.

Bonsoir · 29/03/2015 23:32

I thought SamCam looked better than usual on today's Sunday Times.

Undecided90 · 30/03/2015 07:27

I can't see a photo of what she is wearing on that link. I ended up on wiki , I had no idea she came from such a privelleged background. Shouldnt be a surprise I suppose.

AddToBasket · 30/03/2015 07:28

She looks bang on Now. It's impressive. I thought I'd open this thread to find everyone swooning.

stareatthetvscreen · 30/03/2015 07:45

i can't see photo on link?

polyhymnia · 30/03/2015 08:51

I too thought the skirt looks very 'now' and fashion aware even though I don't love it myself.

As for her fringe, I've tried her (v. ££) hairdresser and found him very conservative, ie into very safe and not very modern styles, so that might explain why her hair is (IMO) a bit boring.

anyoneforcrib · 30/03/2015 08:59

I can't seem to see the picture via that BBC link. How are others seeing it?

DrankSangriaInThePark · 30/03/2015 09:53

You have to keep scrolling way down, it's in a round up of the front pages.

SinglePringle · 30/03/2015 09:57

Nope, can't see it on the ipad, even if I scroll right down.

polyhymnia · 30/03/2015 10:03

I think the problem is the BBC site has now moved to showing today's newspaper front pages.

SconessMcFloness · 30/03/2015 11:03

She always looks wrong, like she's wearing her cooler best friend's clothes. Most people just can't pull off that kind of look.

merrygoround51 · 30/03/2015 12:00

I thought she looked well here and liked the outfit - I thought it was Marni esque

zinnia · 30/03/2015 12:05

here you go

I saw this but was a bit distracted by the picture above the masthead Blush

I just wish she would change her hairstyle. It always screams frumpy to me. The fringe isn't great and the rest just seems to hang there at an awkward length.Whenever I've seen her wearing her hair up she's looked so much better.
I often think her outfits don't look quite right on her. They overpower her sometimes and I don't think she has the personality to pull a lot of the high fashion stuff off?

CointreauVersial · 30/03/2015 14:27

But is this "high fashion", though? That's what puzzled me; it wasn't just "does she look nice?" it was more "is this what all the fashionistas are wearing at the moment?"

This doesn't seem to tick off any of the current trends, it just looks so dowdy, so I'm wondering if it's ME who's out of touch.

polyhymnia · 30/03/2015 15:09

Don't think she will change her hair while she goes to this very 'traditional' chap - who actually got an honour because he also does Dave' s hair.

polyhymnia · 30/03/2015 15:11

PS had assumed the skirt I thought 'dowdy ' was an up to the minute channelling of "50s housewives' "style!

Want2bSupermum · 30/03/2015 15:17

The only reason why anyone could think Sam cam looks nice is because they are comparing her to Cherie Blair (who I give a pass to because she was working full time while her DH was working his socks off too). I always thought Sarah Brown looked nice and I think her style was copied by the duchess of Cambridge at the start.

Michelle Obama has good style.

BallroomWithNoBalls · 30/03/2015 15:33

I don't like the outfit at all. I think she dresses like a Tory wife - quelle surprise. Demure, posh and just a touch of girliness to make Dave rub his knees.

I don't know her but I detest what she stands for so her face and hair annoy me disproportionately especially when she's held up as stylish. Being able to afford an Erdem dress and wearing it as demurely as possible doesn't make you stylish.

stareatthetvscreen · 30/03/2015 18:19

thanks for the pic hmmm bland

FrugalFashionista · 30/03/2015 18:32

Just shows that 'a crisp white shirt' does not suit everyone - though not sure it is crisp, or white Wink The overall look is a bit limp and tired, makes me think of 1970s nylon shirts. Maybe it's no-iron? Ruins the skirt, and the sleeves are the wrong length for her too.

Casuallyvacant · 30/03/2015 18:32

Sarah Brown dressed hideously for her shape. She had fat sausage legs and cankles and a big fat ass which she insisted on showing off at every opportunity. Yuk!!!!
