Salt Water Sandals.

So my most recent pair of Haviaianas have died a death and I can't face buying another pair. They are comfortable but this summer I want something more secure.

So I have decided to buy a pair of salt water sandals. I've been taken in by all the promise of being able to wear them in the sea and let them dry to your feet and so be super comfortable. I love that you can chuck them in the washer as well.

I'm aware they are a bit grandma. I tend to wear leggings, skinny jeans and denim shirts and sundresses in the summer and am quite fair skinned. Please could someone advise me which colour to go for out of these?:

Ive just got a navy pair and a tan pair...cover all eventualities!

dynevoran · 24/03/2015 17:03

I'm leaning towards tan. But the mixed ones look so nice too. Just wondering if the tan is a bit dark for pale skin and likewise if the metallics will wash out fair skin?

Have you had a pair before? Are they as comfortable as I have read?

Very very comfy indeed.

I like the tan ones because they remind me of my childhood Clarks sandals. And go with everything.

But hadn't seen the new metallic ones....

leedy · 24/03/2015 17:07

I have them in gold, orange, and yellow, particularly like the gold.

mewkins · 24/03/2015 17:08

I have the tan and they go with everything.

emsyj · 24/03/2015 17:10

I've got patent yellow and am thinking of getting another pair in a different colour (possibly white or silver) this year. Mine are wonderfully comfortable and I got endless compliments on them all last summer, even from young men!! Shock

lentilpot · 24/03/2015 17:14

I have red and they go with everything!

AmethystMoon · 24/03/2015 17:15

Where do you all but them? I want to try them on first. Are they available on shops? Thanks

AmethystMoon · 24/03/2015 17:16

Buy! Sorry

makeusabrew · 24/03/2015 17:19

AmetystMoon Toast sell them online and instore.

I have them in red, navy, white and gold. I wear the gold and red the most, white hardly ever. I did have them in tan but sold them, they looked too geeky in that colour for me.

AmethystMoon · 24/03/2015 17:33

Damn my nearest Toast closed down last year. How is the sizing?

MrsPeacockDidIt · 24/03/2015 17:39

I have the silver pair as that is the colour Birkenstocks I wear most (I have lots of those!).

In the summer I wear light blue denim, white, grey and navy mostly so the silver go with almost everything.

I want another pair this year but not sure what colour, maybe navy.

SunnySomer · 24/03/2015 17:42

I have gold and orange. The orange ones already look a bit knackered though I've worn them for two summers. Very very comfortable.

ihearttc · 24/03/2015 18:04

I got mine a few weeks ago-the Sun Sand website had a special 20% offer on for Mothers Day so I got both colours that I wanted.

I really struggle with comfy footwear for the summer.

stripytees · 24/03/2015 18:09

The sizing is on the small side. The official website has a size chart you can print out, it's like an image of the sole on paper you can stand on to check!

Lovewearingjeans · 24/03/2015 18:13

Are they wide or narrow fitting?

Kittykatmacbill · 24/03/2015 18:18

Ooh the tan is lovely, others are nice but a bit busier.

I am a 5.5 and get the 39 as they come up a bit small. They are reasonably wide fotting I think.

LucilleBluth · 24/03/2015 20:18

I have navy and red. I let DD choose a colour every summer. They are so comfy and funky, I live in mine come the nice weather.

dynevoran · 24/03/2015 20:24

So the general consensus is that I should buy more than one pair?! Grin

littleomar · 24/03/2015 20:27

Yes. I think I may get white this year to add to my navy and red ones. I buy a size 38 and find them a perfect fit.

MsRinky · 24/03/2015 20:28

I have navy and red too. Can't wait until it is warm enough to wear them, lived in them last year. Although I do also gave a new tan pair of Lotta of Stockholm low peep toe clogs to wear as well this summer.

lightgreenglass · 24/03/2015 20:30

I can't wait to get a navy and tan pair. Got the red ones last year and lived in them all summer!

TheRealMaryMillington · 24/03/2015 20:32

They are a bit grandma in a totally cool and stylish way

I have a tan pair, and I have very white pale feet in April when I start wearing them, though they colour up by June.

I am going to get another colour this year, poss silver, but the mashup is also tempting
