What shoes with this Allsaints dress?

I have got this dress coming in the post today
(I am hoping the model in the pic is ridiculously tall or I fear you may be able to see my bum, but I digress)
I'm wearing it to a birthday party at the end of March and need some shoes / boots to go with it - it suggests chunky boots but what do you lovely ladies think? I was thinking a chunky sandal maybe? I could do with some extra height (bit short & dumpy) but am terrible with heels, I normally live in trainers and birkenstocks and I'm keen to dance so can't be anything too tricky.
Any help appreciated!

am I way off to suggest something like these? I like the dress too

Pantone363 · 09/03/2015 19:36

Love that dress

Something HIGH. If very slender of calf and ankle then something blocky.

Pantone363 · 09/03/2015 19:37

Just seen Anys link, that's what I meant by blocky

burnishedsilver · 09/03/2015 19:42

Love the dress. I'd go for something along these lines and learn to walk in heels :-)

ArfurFoulkesayke · 09/03/2015 19:46

Think I am least likely to do myself an enormous mischief in the ones anyfucker posted.
I am slender of ankle (weirdly!) so could get away with blocky I think
Anyone seen any on a slightly smaller budget? The less I spend on shoes, the more I can spend on drink Grin

Or these - I have a voucher for Whistles and it's 25% off with Grazia till Sunday so I could get them for £100?

AnyFucker · 09/03/2015 20:04

I don't like either of those last two

AnyFucker · 09/03/2015 20:06

cheaper

AnyFucker · 09/03/2015 20:09

if you fancy boots instead and not too ££

ArfurFoulkesayke · 09/03/2015 20:11

Oh I like those, thanks any Grin

I love that frock, but it would skim my bum

atonofwashing · 09/03/2015 20:17

I agree with burnished.
Elegant evening shoeboots would look lovely.
Love the dress, btw.

Nerf · 09/03/2015 20:24

I like it but I suspect you're fanjo may be visible ... Would wear with uggs or something as a day dress though.

ArfurFoulkesayke · 09/03/2015 20:31

Well it hasn't turned up yet so no idea how much of my nethers will be on show, will be sure to keep you posted though! Can I wear it with leggings if it really is obscene?

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/03/2015 20:44

Love the dress.

Shoeboots or heeled ankle boots are easier to walk/dance in than heeled shoes. Will you be wearing it with opaques, or what?

No idea what your budget is and these are v expensive but v lovely. They are reduced in grey but not sure if that would work.

ArfurFoulkesayke · 09/03/2015 20:46

What about these? Too 90's?

ArfurFoulkesayke · 09/03/2015 20:47

Got no idea re the hosiery either, am generally clueless in this department (had to hack through some shrubbery with a machete to even find S&B). If I go sandals I am thinking leggings and sandals rather than tights, is that ridiculous?

OP posts:
AnyFucker · 09/03/2015 20:54

I wouldn't dilute that dress with leggings

noddyholder · 09/03/2015 20:59

Love it would wear spiky stiletto ankle boots

AnyFucker · 09/03/2015 21:03

I hate those boots, noddy

they are fugly Smile

atonofwashing · 09/03/2015 21:04

Please no leggings.

You might as well buy a pair of lelly kelly patented leather school shoes and make your way over to the jelly and ice cream ;-)
