What shoes with this Allsaints dress?

I have got this dress coming in the post today
(I am hoping the model in the pic is ridiculously tall or I fear you may be able to see my bum, but I digress)
I'm wearing it to a birthday party at the end of March and need some shoes / boots to go with it - it suggests chunky boots but what do you lovely ladies think? I was thinking a chunky sandal maybe? I could do with some extra height (bit short & dumpy) but am terrible with heels, I normally live in trainers and birkenstocks and I'm keen to dance so can't be anything too tricky.
Any help appreciated!

And I like them :)

noddyholder · 09/03/2015 21:09

I think big clumpy shoes will make it look cheap and it isn't!

AnyFucker · 09/03/2015 21:10

nope, it ain't cheap

EachandEveryone · 09/03/2015 21:13

Fancy not putting the measurements on the site.

Manic3mum · 09/03/2015 21:13

btw it says the model is 5'11 - just saying!!!

I do not have any helpful shoe suggestions as I would just wear a court shoe. Too old and past it for anything more edgy!!!

ArfurFoulkesayke · 09/03/2015 21:22

ok no leggings (although I am partial to a bit of jelly Wink), nudes then?
If nothing clumpy and nothing massively heely, how about these or these then?

Love the dress...awaiting a report on actual hem length when it arrives (interested 5'3" short person)

AnyFucker · 09/03/2015 21:34

'course you are

Your choice, innit

noddyholder · 09/03/2015 21:34

Love the whistles ones esp the first pair Have similar

gruffalocake2 · 09/03/2015 21:35

These? They have that 90s block heel vibe which suits the dress, not a perfect example but not bad...www.next.co.uk/x554350s3

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/03/2015 21:42

First Whistles pair are gorgeous.

ArfurFoulkesayke · 09/03/2015 21:45

thanks ladies, going to wait for the frock to actually turn up now and see if my arse is hanging out before driving myself any more mental. Will be back with news of hemlines!

Please don't wear leggings or chunky boots. This dress needs elegant stiletto ankle boots or shoeboots x

Talisin · 15/03/2015 13:45

Can I ask (assuming the dress turned up!) what the sizing is like?

ArfurFoulkesayke · 15/03/2015 18:17

Dress turned up Friday - it's about 2-3 inches above the knee and it is a bit of a weird fit, hem is higher at the front than the back and the outer sparkly layer is very very wide. The underneath normal layer fits well though so it's clearly meant to look like that i.e. I've got the right size. It is lovely despite its weirdness, no need for restrictive underwear and feels comfy as not fitted. I'm going to wear it with nude tights I think but still got no shoes :-(
But you can't see my bum which is a right result!
