If I see another pair of those Stan Smith trainers... And as for the dungarees - step away from the fads ladies.

Baa Baa -- I like the bloggers.

Quick cheat sheet to what a style might look like on a non model.

Good place to start when thinking about a refresh.

Totally agree frugal it was much softer, specially the fringed dresses. its gorgeous but something not expected.

And yes it's like there is a drought going on ATM ,creativity wise. , hedi slimane has been showing the exact designs for the past few seasons, you can't tell any of it apart, its in demand, its popular, but so unoriginal, and after looking at those ripped jeans, high waisted jeans, bow printed blouses with the obligatory fedora, it loses its appeal, he is taking saint Laurent to Hollywood, and completely ignoring its identity.

There is no denying that there is a tangible uncertantity in Europe people are very careful, and almost all major fashion houses increased their prices due to the euro crisis. rich Russians are still buying, but with caution, but on the other hand there is a sort of stability in the US,and more than ever, American are starting to really buy with great appetite, and taking advantage of strong $ vs € and shop in Europe instead,

Houses like valentino and chanel are aiming for ME and asian market dominance and are already there ,,that's where money is after all, even though oil prices have fallen dramatically, people still shop.

It all looks very scary and I'm really surprised by how the media is playing it down,

I've really lost track on this post Grin

amber you are one of the very few people who can pull off dungarees, and you certainly don't look like anything being said here.

Charitygirl1 · 06/03/2015 22:53

No, truly. I think it was you that inspired my purchase!

Drywhiteplease · 06/03/2015 23:49

And fashion is all about sheep like behaviour isn't it? Hmm

I agree with the poster who said that blogs are good for seeing what clothes look like on real people rather than models. No airbrushed, backlit professionally photographed 6 footers.

FrugalFashionista · 07/03/2015 09:45

No apologies needed Santa - I enjoyed your posts and what you wrote really made me think and that's a rare thing in fashion Wink

I think fashion is to some degree a herd instinct. A lot of women want to say with their clothes and accessories "I am a member of this tribe. Please let me belong." But we all know that regularly someone thinks differently and comes up with a new look that breaks old rules or reinvents something or brings something entirely new to the table. We need blogs for different reasons - some exist to filter out what you should buy now or waht to wear to soft play, and they can be enermously helpful to the reader. But fashion is about self-expression too, and if you just do the prescribed copycat look, you are going to look like a follower. Often what I see is 'Look at what I am wearing ignore me '. I think this is what we think when we say 'baa baa' Wink

I love women whose clothing choices seem to be an extension of who they are. I love seeing the wearer, not just the clothes. In some way runway looks are not at all created to do this as this type of woman is not a slave to trends. Her look could involve a filtration or interpretation or a nod to what is current, but that is not the focus at all, it's merging what's out there with who they are - you no longer pay attention to the clothes, you see the person. This type of presence cannot really be achieved by parading the item everyone else has just discovered too or shelling out ££££ at the hottest place to shop right now. If the presence is forced, you just becomes a visual punchline screaming 'Look at me!'. There is a disconnect, a desire to be seen and admired, but no substance to it.

noddyholder · 07/03/2015 09:50

I never look at blogs I think they are about trends abc not much about style. I prefer looking at real people and shops.

FiftyShadesOfSporn · 07/03/2015 11:00

I do find Pinterest very helpful.

FibonacciSeries · 07/03/2015 11:14

I love style blogs. And fashion magazines. And dungarees. Baah baah baah Grin

Seriously though...who cares? The beauty of the Internet is that you can find whatever you want! Drop the hate reading and read or write about what you like Grin
