My face attachment has a red tinged plastic rectangle but my body attachment just has a rectangular gap, should it have a plastic part in the centre too??

SnoringMonkeys thanks for the information about shaving etc, I'm very excited to get started!
I have pretty much my entire body to do, arms, armpits, entire legs, back, neck, face, the list goes on Grin

Professor it's amazing, honestly! The hair just starts falling out after the first zap. You can pull them out with your fingers and there's no root and no pain!

Larger areas like your underarms and arms the growth is sparse. Some areas there'll be no hair after the first 2 weeks. Then you do it again and it zaps the remaining hairs. This is because hair has different growth cycles so you zap them every 2 weeks until they disappear.

It's worth the money IMO. I had to thread my upper lip and chin almost everyday. I haven't worried about it since End of December!

Sorry late reply! Fluffy neck hair is fine and dark blonde. It's worked a treat.
On my lip, I only had a few dark and the rest blonde. The blondes have mostly grown back but not stubbly.
I don't find it hurts at all!

I have a Lumea and I swear the instructions say if you wax or epilate, you can just use it as you would if you'd just shaved? (I think, I haven't gone near my face yet for fear of drama)

SnoringMonkeys, you say you can pull the hairs out easily, I'm confused because I thought you had to shave beforehand? I don't know if I'm getting mixed up! Grin

Do you have to shave blondies beforehand?

Sorry I wasn't clear. So you shave the hair and you zap them. As the hair grows back it's really weak and sheds by itself. But I was just pointing out how weak the hair is, that you can pull it out with your fingers if you want. Basically you just shave the hair every time and zap until it doesn't come back. The zapping kills the root.

tropic, no you have to shave because it's the only way the light can go down into the root to kill the root. The darker the hair the more light it attracts. That's why pale skin and dark hair is the best for this treatment.

My legs look completely different after I shave them, loads better! The same with my hairy face when I very it. I'm so excited to see my arms hairless!

Does anyone know if moles are an issue? I have around a hundred tiny dark freckles/ flat mole type things.
I have some large flat moles on my back, I can only assume you're to avoid layering over them?

I have one but I've been too chicken to do my top lip, as I still get regrowth elsewhere. What does the dark hair grow back like?

Report
SnoringMonkeys · 24/02/2015 00:10

professor I know! It's so exciting! I was hairy for a long time too, I feel so confident now.
I have one fat black mole under my chin and I avoid it purely because the dark melanin will attract the light and it could burn your skin. I have a few flat black/brown spots on my arms and nothing untoward happened so the freckles should be ok I think.

dustbunny my first lip hair regrowth wasn't pretty, but you can continue shaving it during the 2 week wait. It was quite blunt but not thick and once it grew out I could pull at it and it would shed. I actually zapped every week instead of 2 weeks because my lip/chin hair was so unbearable. It worked fine, but I wouldn't recommend it just incase!

Snoring ah ok, thanks very much for that Smile
Crisis (hopefully) averted!

ProfessorPickles the instructions say to colour in your moles with white eyeliner pencil. Presumably they then won't absorb the light and burn.

How much does it coat to replace the bulbs?

areyoutheregoditsmemargaret · 25/02/2015 16:54

Is there any reason to buy the swanky Precision plus as opposed to the Compact, which is half the price?

Report
SnoringMonkeys · 25/02/2015 17:48

As far as I am aware, the precision plus just has a small attachment for the bikini area. It doesn't have extra flashes or anything. I don't think there's any point to it IMO. I have the latest version but not the precision plus. I prefer using the larger body attachment for the bikini area as it gets over and done with quicker!

cleanmachine you don't buy a replacement bulb as there are over 140k flashes that work out to about 5 years worth of zapping. Once the flashes finish, you throw the whole thing away. I think replacement bulbs end up being false economy.

Does any one know if this would help with ingrown hairs? I have a terrible problem with these which makes me really self conscious! I have medium pale skin and quite dark hair.

Also, is it worth the extra £100 ish difference between the two newest versions-one has a facial attachment and I think 40k more flashes. I home wax my trash, and pluck whiskers on my chin (Blush) which though strong and bristly are quite pale! I sound attractive eh!

Massive investment so don't want to buy it and be disappointed-arghhhh to buy or not to buy!

Snoring - which one have you got? Sounds good.

Report
SnoringMonkeys · 26/02/2015 22:05

suzanne I think I remember reading on a few blogs and reviews (I thoroughly researched it before buying!) that it did indeed help with ingrown hairs. I'm not sure how you'd treat them, because shaving an ingrown hair spot would be painful? Or you'd have to pick them out and then shave I suppose. I've got some on my kneecaps, but haven't touched my legs yet.

clean I've got the latest one (2006/11? ) but not the precision plus. It has 140K flashes, and I've hardly used any as the hair regrowth all but stopped after the second zapping on my chin and lip. My underarms are hair free, and they were zapped for 3/4 weeks in a row. I didn't follow the 2 week wait rule.

I would never rave about something unless it really is something special, but I was bullied for facial hair at school. Have battled with it since forever. Being ill was the worse when I couldn't wax/thread with a runny nose or being bed bound and then getting better and finding I look like a chubakka. This product has changed my life. I feel prettier and first time in forever I can leave the house without make up. It was worth every pound I spent.
