I bought em.

I think I like em.

I'm forty. Am I deluded?

We need to see them, link please! (I'm assuming they are not called mahoosive flares on the m&s website) (though you never know...)

Haggisfish · 21/02/2015 17:30

These ones?! I bet they look nice on.

stevienickstophat · 21/02/2015 17:31

Oh hell, not sure I can do link as on phone.

I think they're called True Seventies or something. They were in Vogue, dontcha know.

My main reason for liking them is that they are high waisted so they suck my tummy in. Plus the flares balance my hips out I hope.

stevienickstophat · 21/02/2015 17:32

No, mine are jeans. Sorry, should have said.

PulpsNotFiction · 21/02/2015 17:32

I have them too. I am older than you. We can be deluded together, I don't give a damn if my kids roll on the floor laughing.

As with all M&S they're better IRL than on the website.

LaurieFairyCake · 21/02/2015 17:32

They can't be the one Haggis linked?
Those are way too short for the model
Are they denim?

NoArmaniNoPunani · 21/02/2015 17:34

My parents had a sofa in the '70's that looked like the ones Haggis linked to

LaurieFairyCake · 21/02/2015 17:34

Oh found them now, they're lush!

Sold out in almost every size

stevienickstophat · 21/02/2015 17:35

Oof, just managed to open the link. No, not those my eyes

Are they jeans? I'm in my 40s and was thinking of trying them.

They were featured here

Are they very long?

stevienickstophat · 21/02/2015 17:36

That's em! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw them. Three pairs left in stock, all my size.

Which I am choosing not to believe is because they are not that flattering on my size 14 arse.

OP posts:
Lambzig · 21/02/2015 17:37

These ones?

www.marksandspencer.com/crinkle-effect-kickflare-denim-jeans/p/p60068969

Not deluded, they are nice. I tried them but ended up buying some MiH marrakesh equally flared ones. I am in my forties too.

There is another flared jeans thread in S&B debating them.

MadderPink · 21/02/2015 17:37

these then

I'd worry they are a bit in-and-out for me which would make my big thighs look huge, but on some shapes they could be great.

In honour of this flares trend I will be digging out my Boden wideleg jeans instead, they are more like a flare but that goes straight from bum to ankle IYSWIM.

stevienickstophat · 21/02/2015 17:38

I got a regular length and they're perfect. My legs are quite short for my height.

I'll probably wear them with flats.

That blog's where I first saw them. She costs me a packet, that woman Grin

OP posts:
burnishedsilver · 21/02/2015 17:39

Me too.

TheReluctantCountess · 21/02/2015 17:40

They are amazing!

Ieirswnllyd · 21/02/2015 17:40

I have them too and they're brilliant. My local M and S only had they're first stock of them yesterday.

stevienickstophat · 21/02/2015 17:40

I've got two pairs of Boden wideleg jeans which I've worn continuously for ten years.

They're actually falling apart and I'll be heartbroken when they finally die.

They were my perfect jeans for one season only. The design changed after that and they were nowhere near as good.

Best jeans ever. But these Marks ones are running them a close second.

stevienickstophat · 21/02/2015 17:41

They're so stretchy and comfy.

DP is delighted. He feels like he's been taken back to his teens until he sees my face

OP posts:
amothersplaceisinthewrong · 21/02/2015 17:43

Sorry, if you were young enough to wear them first time round (as I was), then IMO, you are too old for them now. I won't be buying.

stevienickstophat · 21/02/2015 17:44

I was too young, really. Born in 74, so I reckon I scrape just under the wire Wink

OP posts:
noddyholder · 21/02/2015 17:47

New look ones are good I am wearing loads atm so flattering

burnishedsilver · 21/02/2015 17:50

I'm 43 and I've never worn flares before.

stevienickstophat · 21/02/2015 17:50

Are you in a similar ballpark age-wise, Noddy?
