stevienicks yes! I too only love the boden widelegs from about 10 years ago - ebay is your friend. Mine fell to bits and I just tracked them on ebay until I found the right ones. For a tenner too.

I'm mid-40s and wore flares for most of my childhood.

Jane Birkin is my flares style icon, I like to wear then in summer with birkenstocks and skinny vest, t-shirt or v-neck jumper.

If you were born in 74 OP, I would definitely wear them, unfortunately I was born in 58 so I think it's a no, I do like them though.

Ok, so I have a pair in my basket (not sold out on M&S Irish website), but I had a look at the video on the website and they don't look good on the model. It doesnt help that she has a funny walk and pointy boots but I have my doubts now. What kind of shoes would you wear with them?

I'm going to wear Converse, Ash trainers, Birkenstocks during the day.

For evening I've got some heeled Repetto ankle boots.

For smarter day I bought some really fantastic taupe suede boots (that are a Toga ripoff) from Marks today.

I am mid 30s and wore flares through my late teens and to my mid 20s and various wide legged trousers since. I like the look of the darker indigo ones on the m&s site and may give them a go.

They had these on one of their email adverts, I clicked through and put them in my basket. Stopped to do dinner, bath and bed for the kids and when I went back they were sold out. Seems lots of people saw the email. I hope they get them back in.

I'm wondering if with that video, the problem is the very willowy model doesn't look right in them. Her legs are so slim, the high waist makes her look like she has a strangely huge pelvis.

Loving the denim ones though- just envious that they're sold out!! I used to wear similar about 15-18 yrs ago (am mid 30s) lush then, lush now!!!
