The ENDLESS quest for a tan leather A4 folder fitting shoulder bag grinds on...

... With no luck.

I'm am bored of looking now. It's been YEARS. I've started so many threads. I've thought that I've found 'the one' so many times. It's never happened.

The closest I came was the Radley Grosvenor in tan, which I LOVE, but is slightly too small to comfortable fit an A4 folder/notebook.

Has anyone seen one?

I want:

A shoulder bag with a decent, wide strap. Nothing cross body- I want one to fit snugly one one shoulder.

Something which doesn't cost the earth.

I like vintage, saddle bag styles. But am open to suggestion.

Any ideas?

Gosh I remember reading your original thread about three years ago! I have an almost perfect one from timberland..but it's more buff than tan! I have given up looking for a decent tan one and will just leave it to fate. I did just buy a beautiful mustard coloured one for a bargain price and looking forward to using it in spring.

Sorry no help but just stalk tk maxx and maybe something by a weird brand will crop up soon.

Few nice options on not on the high street

BillStickersIsInnocent · 15/02/2015 13:13

Ha knew this would be you!

Love the jigsaw one - I've had my eye on that for a while.

Is the Chloe Marcie your perfect bag? Given the years you've spent searching is there anyway you can justify the ££?

Or maybe if we all gave a pound....(think that was suggested in year 1 Wink)

TweedAddict · 15/02/2015 13:32

You can get one made especially for you on esty, you state the style, size, colour etc. I did this for my partners laptop bag. Cost me £100.

MoustacheofRonSwanson · 15/02/2015 16:12

I have this

Fits under arm, will hold A4 folder.

flowery · 15/02/2015 16:44

I have the Modalu Erin. I can easily fit my laptop, A4 Filofax and iPad in it as well as purse make up etc etc

tethersend · 15/02/2015 18:31

Thanks all- loads to look at Smile

I should say, I've already got the radley grosvenor, and it doesn't comfortably fit an A4 folder- if they'd just make it a couple of inches bigger, it would be perfect, and I wouldn't be sitting here moaning on the internet.

Not keen on any of the ones linked to, sorry. Too square or white stitching or too brown or something fucking imperceptible which means I don't like it. Sorry.

I lived the look of the nat and nin Angie bag (see pic), but when it arrived, it was just soft leather backed with fabric and had no structure to it at all. Maybe I could get that again and stuff it?

The only thing I found via Romcom's notonthehighstreet recommendation which I quite like is this...

All opinions welcome. Except those pointing out that I am annoyingly fussy. Believe me, I know. The only one it's hurting is me Grin

I have a peony and moore Lucia in tan that I'm thinking of selling. They don't sell them any more but you can see it in google images. I think it might be pretty much the same size as the radley grosvenor though - it does fit an a4 pad, but the shape of it means it's a little bit difficult to get the pad in, especially if the bag is quite full.

If you're interested I can send you some pics. It's in good nick and it's lovely soft leather, but there's a bit of a watermark on the back. I'd recommend it new if they still did it - was about £200 I think.

ScrambledSmegs · 15/02/2015 19:32

I expect you've seen this already?

Peony & Moore

moggiesmum · 15/02/2015 19:50

I've had that bag in Navy for a while ScrambledSmegs -- love it!

tethersend · 15/02/2015 20:08

Thanks, I remember the Lucia, but didn't like it, sorry.

The Mariella is too slouchy for me; I'd like something more structured.

What about this designer here

Hobbes8 · 15/02/2015 20:50

Ah well, if anyone else fancies it give me a shout. I'm actually getting rid because it's a little bit small. I bought a really nice tan Radley bag on eBay thinking it was a bit bigger, but it's pretty much the same size. I really don't need 2 tan leather bags that aren't quite right!

I've got a radley laptop bag that's just the right size but it's black and purple and I really want one in tan. I'll keep watching this thread and if the perfect bag comes up I'll fight you for it.

tethersend · 15/02/2015 20:50

Ooh, Awks- good call. Do you think they would do a bespoke bigger version of that with a different colour stitching?

I'm going to email and ask Smile

Annoying, isn't it? It's not like carrying A4 paperwork is particularly unusual requirement...

OP posts:
jimmybim · 15/02/2015 22:40

this one is bigger

Comito · 16/02/2015 09:51

I now want that Longchamp Hobo bag.

tethersend · 16/02/2015 13:14

Thanks jimmy- I found that one on my last search and it was definitely a contender, but I ended up discounting it for no good reason Grin

AWKS- the designer of that handbag got back to me, and she can make an A4 one! I think I'm going to go for it. I also think I might love you Smile

I also love anyone who tried to find one for me. Cheers Wine
