I think when you are getting on a bit you do know that those sort of outfits don't look as good as maybe in your 30s I am 50 this year and there are some things where I do thing hmm and then think sod it I am who I am and I'm wearing it! She is smart and style savvy and so she probably does know but does it anyway.

Definitely agree that it would be a hideous outfit on anyone. I am torn between admiring her for wearing what the hell she wants to and critics be damned, to thinking that she is constantly seeking external approval of herself, which must be both exhausting (at any age) and a bit sad that she feels she doesn't have enough sense of self to still require that kind of external reinforcement. Definitely feels like she is running out of ideas - I think she looked absolutely tragic.

Julianne Moore on the other hand looked fabulously stunning and like a woman in control of herself. However, that may just be an illusion, and she may feel as much pressure as Madonna to achieve external validation, she just has a different notion of what that looks like.

I'm a similar age to Madonna and mostly she just makes me feel very tired.

But if I had the energy to keep in half as good a shape as she does, then I'd be showing off too. And the thought that some people might not like it would just add to my enjoyment.
