frankie80 · 03/01/2015 21:01

Is anyone princessing for 2015?

OP posts:
Sheepskincosy · 03/01/2015 21:03

What is it?

Micah · 03/01/2015 21:06

frankie80 · 03/01/2015 21:59

Here's a link to an old post explaining it

Me! Me! Me!

I have just (in the last hour, before I saw your post) trawlled through the old threads and made up my list:

? Will NOT let fizzy juice past my lips
? Face cream every evening
? Moisturise after every shower
? 7 portions of fruit/veg every day
? Weekly hair removal
? Monthly eyebrow threading
? Hair cut February / June / November
? Hand cream every night
? Foot cream every night
? Lay out clothes the night before
? Back to using MFP every day WITHOUT FAIL
? Two short runs (5k) and two long runs (10k) every week
? Walk Dog decent distance every day (he is as lazy as me)

As I am totally lacking in any form of princessing at present my list is possibly not the most inspiring, however the intention is there!

frankie80 · 03/01/2015 22:08

Here's what I think I'll do

  1. drink more water
  2. Cleanse, Tone, Moisturize
  3. Use teeth whitening toothpaste
  4. Use hand cream daily
  5. Look after my nails better, especially toes
  6. Regular eyebrow shaping & eyelash tint
  7. go for a walk every lunch hour
  8. At least 2 extra fruit & veg every day
  9. Healthy breakfast daily
10. Style my hair rather than wash it and go 11. shave legs more regularly 12. use natural body products 13. personal training twice weekly 14. Less fast food and takeaways 15. One early night once a week. Also try to get a lie in at weekends 16. Wear make up daily 17. Give up one naughty favourite item - costa hot chocolates 18. Cut down on the fizzy drinks 19. wear perfume daily 20. weekly bath to relax (as well as daily showers obviously!)

I'm up for this. Ill come back and write my list but posting to remind me of it!

MakeMeWarmThisWinter · 03/01/2015 22:35

Can I do a pregnancy version?!

  • avoid refined sugar, especially in drinks
  • drink lots of water, just not with meals as it will make me sick and not in the evening as I'll be peeing all night.
  • keep as fit as I can
  • wear makeup daily and keep my hair maintained
  • get gel toes done regularly
  • buy bras and pants that fit well throughout
  • defuzz regularly as well as I can
  • have a bath once a week with a face mask and use lots of body moisturiser
  • take my bloody vitamins and omega oil (makes a huge difference to my skin and energy levels)
appleblossom23 · 04/01/2015 20:27

Me! Me! Me! I was on the Countdown to Christmas thread where we made ourselves fabulous for Christmas. Am feeling distinctly unfabulous following a few weeks diet almost entirely composed of prosecco and mince pies.

My plan:

Every day - body brush, moisturiser all over, vitamins and fish oils, 3 litres of water, facial exercises, 30 minutes of running/exercise DVD/a walk - just something.

Every week - manicure, deep condition hair, eyebrow tidy, face mask, tidy my legs with the epilator. I might choose a night and make it Fabulousizing Night.

I already have a good skin care routine so I'll just keep going with that. I need to start going to bed at a decent time, and finally, the biggie, I need to stop eating quite so much utter rubbish. I've got a Carol Vorderman detox book... Anyone ever done it? It looks very sensible, though seriously lacking on the chocolate/crisps/coffee/beer front which is what I usually eat. Really must do better with that.

chipsandpeas · 04/01/2015 20:33

im in:
eat better and lose weight
do more exercise ideally 5 a week whether it be going to the gym, zumba, swimming or exercising at home - starting back at the gym tomorrow and will build up to it
use day and night cream every day
use body lotion
do my nails more

I'm in! I lurked on some of the other threads in the autumn and was doing well but then got tonsilitis over New Year and am now feeling like a wet dish rag! Off to compose my list!

louwn · 05/01/2015 14:50

I am in with a slightly revised list...will post later!

Pollywallywinkles · 05/01/2015 16:37

How long are we going to do it for?

For me it will be:

healthy eating for January (ate too much processed food in December)
Average at least 10,000 steps a day over the course of a week
Regular manicures and attention to hands
Body brushing and moisturising
Regular eyebrow threading

No alcohol during the week (which should be easy)
No purchasing clothes or products in January unless I run out of something and don't already have an alternative

SophieLion · 05/01/2015 17:23

Oooo I want to join in too!! Reading this thread just made me drink a 500ml bottle of water and eat a big salad with lots of veg!!!

And already had a mani-pedi this morning and got my eyebrows threaded and tinted. (Can't say I really feel any more beautiful though...Hmm)

SophieLion · 05/01/2015 17:25

And need to sort my hair out big time. Am utterly fed up with it

Purpleflamingos · 05/01/2015 18:29

I'm in.
I do everything except exercise and moisturise my feet every night.
I also drank too much (a couple of glasses everyday, not binge drinking) over Christmas.

My big thing is having nice nails. I promise to always try and have nicely painted nails and not to chew the skin on my thumbs when stressed.

Ps if anyone wants to make the exfoliate /moisturise body act easier, olive oil and sea salt make a fab bath or shower exfoliator, pat dry with a towel (don't rub or the oil comes off) wrap up warm for the oil to soak in. Super soft skin.

FredZeppelin · 05/01/2015 23:34

Appleblossom I remember the Carol Vorderman detox and I did it for a month a few years ago. No dairy, wheat, booze, meat, sugar... However she said to eat raw nuts. And I did.
After a month of the strictest regime I've ever done I lost the grand total of 1lb the gigantic bags of cashew nuts consumed daily probably didn't help

I'm in too ladies.
My list is as follows:

  1. Drink at least 2 litres of water a day.
  2. Cut down to one coffee a day.
  3. Minimum 5 portions of fruit and veg per day.
  4. Three vegetarian days per week.
  5. Get the Soap & Glory foot file out and sort out my trotters. Maintain weekly.
  6. Cleanse and moisturise properly every night (mornings I'm doing)
  7. Start walking to work. It's the only way I can exercise as a lone parent to a 2 year old!
  8. Take flax seed oil capsules daily.
mowglik · 06/01/2015 00:23

I'll join..I do a lot of maintenance stuff anyway but the stuff I always forget:

Floss every night
Sea salt and olive oil scrub once a week
Sort eyebrows and nails once a week
Body brush once a week
Moisturise feet every night
Do the footner treatment every 3 months
Fish twice a week
More water
Use face mask once a week
Keep on top of hairy pins and tash! Hmm
Get hair cut more often (twice a year atm)

mowglik · 06/01/2015 00:24

Oh and clothes wise (are we including clothes or is this just beauty?)

Great outfits that i will wear that includes my lesser worn items
Organise wardrobe and get rid of clothes that are 10-15 years old!

frankie80 · 06/01/2015 11:35

You can do it as long as you want. Personally I'm going to try to maintain all year.

Today I'm going to try to get my brows done and go back to my Zumba class. Don't know if I'll have time for my lunchtime walk though Hmm

appleblossom23 · 06/01/2015 13:01

Fred - 1lb?????!!!! did you notice any other benefits though, like boundless energy or skin that glowed like the sun? I'm not looking to lose weight particularly, though half a stone wouldn't be bad, just hoping to look less grey and knackered. I thought all the salad would help with that. Yesterday I had two bars of chocolate for my tea and I had crisps for breakfast today. S'probably why I look grey and knackered. I have had some homemade veggie soup for lunch, but really must actually get started with fabulousizing....

FredZeppelin · 06/01/2015 19:50

appleblossom I can't really remember to be honest! The discipline of cutting major food groups and booze almost traumatised me!
I'd do it for a week or so initially and see how you find it.
Just avoid cashew nuts though Grin

echt · 06/01/2015 20:24

Here goes:

Re-start C25K
5:2 - doing this with DH so easier
Febfast and DryJuly (Australia)
Keep toenails pretty even in depths of winter
Stop nibbling nails at work - on holidays they grow beautifully
Body brush once a week
Sort out work clothes the night before
Wash the car. I hate my car and neglect its appearance. It's a mobile cupboard.

I'm already well up to scratch with the veggies/fruit and regard footner as a guilty pleasure.:o

306235388 · 06/01/2015 20:31

I'll join Grin

  • no fizzy juice
  • no alcohol
  • drink more water
  • minimum 5 fruit and veg
  • Dye my hair regularly
  • keep nails painted and looked after
  • meditate again 3 times a week
  • early night once a week
  • exercise 4/5 times a week
