tried one on today, quite a nice brown colour. never had one before and it was rather cosy and I was wavering for the school run etc
BUT
big norks therefore risk of looking like back end of a bus
AND
are they naff-naffdinaffola?

I have a long black one from Gap from last year that Foxinsocks recommended and it is like walking round in a quilt.

Lovely.

tonton · 11/10/2006 15:09

every year I hanker after a long puffa-type coat but i can never find one that i like. Or don't feel like a sausage-roll in!! But i could be tempted...

oliveoil · 11/10/2006 15:09

this was in Sainsburys
it just rather caught my eye
it was short but no sleeveless (perish the thought)
but MT you are tall and slim etcetc. I expect hessain sacks would look good on you.
I had just never considered the notion before. am tempted now...

It'll be ra-ra skirts next. You mark my words.

Iklboo · 11/10/2006 15:15

Ahem - hope this puts you off....

ROund where I live, people who wear puffa jackets

Give their children sausage rolls & ribeeeenorrrrr from Greggs
Wear about 20 gold chains & other assorted "julie"
Wear Rockports & tucj trackie bottoms into socks

Personally I would either look like the Michelin Man or black pudding wrapped in elastic bands if I wore one

Greensleeves · 11/10/2006 15:16

at the black pudding

oliveoil · 11/10/2006 15:16

I wear mine with style and pizazzzzzzzzzz.

themoon666 · 11/10/2006 15:51

Depends on whether you want to look like a bouncy castle or not I suppose.

Bozza · 11/10/2006 15:54

So what coat should we be buying for winter? I would like a casual coat for school run, park etc and would prefer it to be 3/4 or hips rather than waist length.

themoon666 · 11/10/2006 16:04

Yes.. and a hood to keep out driving icy rain too, coz I have hair that doesn't 'do' wet.

themoon666 · 11/10/2006 16:05

You know what? Am thinking 'duffle' here

ParanoidAndroid · 11/10/2006 16:10

Puffa coats around here are worn when on the back of a horse!

Mine is lovely and warm but also....covered in rips and tears, with assorted pony nuts, bits of baling twine and odd nails in the pockets.

Doubt you could get that particular look on the high street

NOMurDErousPLUME · 11/10/2006 16:14

Nay

Nay

and thrice

Nay

northerner · 11/10/2006 16:16

Yay actually. I have a lovey, soft, warm cream one. I will be wearing it with style come the wintery weather.

I have small norks though.

NOMurDErousPLUME · 11/10/2006 16:17

I was looking at one in Millets the other day, also in brown. Decided I would look odd in it.

Bozza · 11/10/2006 16:19

So what instead ndp?

MellowMonsta · 11/10/2006 16:19

Yes here too. I have a grey one. Its not overly puffy though like my ds one.

I wear mine with my winter trainers, mostly for school though.
