Cremo be thinking of you.... I hope to be on the train home by then....

bigTillyMint · 19/12/2014 17:33

Woo Hoo! It's all over for 2 weeksSmile Been for a wee drink in a local - doubt I'm going to make it up to town...

Got an anguished call from DD earlier - on receipt of a Christmas present from a friend from her club. Thinks Amy and Penny in BBT - the painting episode, only it's a huuuuge close-up photo on canvasShock

Good news on the crepey-front though - my ex boss who is pushing 60 has apparently got a toy-boy (35!) Italian, with a tan all over! There is hope!

cremolafoam · 19/12/2014 18:12

Just received one if those indecipherable Xmas cardsGrin

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/12/2014 18:20

Crem - Oh No You Won't! Grin

Have finally finished work until 6 January. The money seems to have run out too. Got lovely purple scarf in charity shop where DD1 is volunteering at the moment, on my way home, plus a couple of books (one of which will go in my mother's stocking).

Letter from hospital saying I do not have the corrupted gene that causes the cancer that is killing my family (but neither did they). It helpfully said it might be another gene that they don't know about, so 3 monthly appointments for life and the same for the DDs. Better safe than sorry.

OP posts:
MollyAir · 19/12/2014 18:57

That's good news, isn't it, MrsS? Three-monthly appointments are a nuisance, but also reassuring, I hope.

I had a medical appointment yesterday, and ds came with me to hold my hand. I also got reassuring news. We jumped in a taxi to go to the Sherlock Holmes Museum to celebrate (as you do), and the taxi driver was lovely - I told him we were celebrating good news after I'd seen a doctor, and he said that's the kind of reason for taking a taxi he likes to hear about. He got a big Xmas tip from me because he was so sincere about it. Aw.

bigTillyMint · 19/12/2014 19:05

Great news MrsSSmile And for you MollySmile

When is it bedtime?

motherinferior · 19/12/2014 19:10

Hurrah for good hospital news!

I have finished my PND feature, apart from the box on Blokes. I did a feature on 'male PND' years ago and I'll plunder that (am deeply sceptical about the phenomenon anyway). Am going to celebrate with puttanesca and Gin. DP has apparently ordered a supermarket delivery. He didn't tell me. It arrives later. There is no booze on it. This is obviously a Good Thing (yeah right). He is out 'doing a t'ai chi mailout' (this is so bizarre an alibi that it must be true - surely if he had found a consenting bosomy 21 year old to have an affair with, he'd have a better excuse Grin?) and says airily Just Put Away The Frozen Stuff. That would be in our already over-stuffed freezer, then...Confused

MollyAir · 19/12/2014 19:49

I don't know where dh is. Drunk somewhere Both dc have gone out in all their finery.

Blackduck · 19/12/2014 19:49

Molly and MrsS :)

I am half watching Treasure Island and waiting for a decent moment to say night night...

Posh meal tomorrow night...

herbaceous · 19/12/2014 19:55

I am in a bad mood. I'd been really looking forward to tonight, as it's the first evening of the Christmas hols, and the first one me and DP have spent together for nearly a week. It was going to be curry, masterchef and possibly the Apprentice interview round.

He texted me at 5pm, saying he was having a swift half. He texted again at 7, saying he'd be back at '8.20'. Such precision is a dead giveaway that he's shit-faced. I haven't eaten all day and am starving. And I feel really ill, with sinus pain. Grump grump grump. I'm going to order enough curry for two, and if he's not back when it arrives in an hour, eat the lot for myself.

herbaceous · 19/12/2014 19:55

Oh, and of course (how rude of me) what good news from MI, Molly and Mrs S. I raise a glass in your general direction.

NUFC69 · 19/12/2014 20:02

We had a lovely time in Derbyshire and would definitely recommend a visit to Chatsworth when it's decorated for Christmas. The theme was Alice in Wonderland and I have a great photo of DH dressed as Tweedledum (or possibly Dee).

Unfortunately our return home has not been good as I have just heard that the family member who had to have a termination earlier because the baby was so badly damaged, is pregnant again and there is no heartbeat at the scan today. They are still at the hospital....

There was a letter from a DFr in Essex waiting for me to say that she has just had a lumpectomy and now DH has just taken a call from a friend whose wife has died. Sad

The only good part of the day was hearing that MI's DM can go forward for surgery. Smile

I hope fellow Crepeys are enjoying Friday night more than I am.

bigTillyMint · 19/12/2014 20:05

MollyGrin
MI, your DH certainly bucks the trends!
BD, I'm looking forward to bed tooBlush
Herbs, I don't blame you Angry

DS is on his way home with 3 mates for a sleepover, apparently. They'd better be quiet or I'll be hoovering at 6amGrin

cremolafoam · 19/12/2014 20:14

bigTillyMint · 19/12/2014 20:19

lalsy · 19/12/2014 20:37

hattymattie · 19/12/2014 20:44

NU what a very sad ending to a lovely day.

Mrs S and Molly good newsWine.

I am having wine and looking forward to Have I Got News for You.

Hope your DH arrives back soon Herbs - men are infuriating when they do this sort of thing.

motherinferior · 19/12/2014 20:58

Oh NU, how very sad.

bigTillyMint · 19/12/2014 21:19

Ooooh just found a mysterious looking parcel behind the front door (must have missed it in my way in) - think it's my Secret SatanSmile

My kitchen has now been taken over by 4 teen boys scoffing a loaf of bread and a lump of cheese. And God knows what else!

QueenQueenie · 19/12/2014 21:38

Glad to hear of good medical news for a few and very sorry to hear your sad stories NU.

Herbs, GRRRRR, hope you've scoffed all the pies.

Good news here for ds1, offer today from his 2nd choice uni following an interview a few weeks ago. He's VERY pleased and so am I. Phew!

hattymattie · 19/12/2014 21:52

Fantastic news QQSmile .

herbaceous · 19/12/2014 22:03

I expressed my displeasure to DP, and he arrived home at nearly 9, trying to pretend not to be drunk. He was, sadly, just in time for the curry.

Apparently it was very important that he stayed in the pub to see the result of a trifecta that could have netted them thousands. Apparently.

QQ Grin

NU Hmm

herbaceous · 19/12/2014 22:29

Sorry NU! That emoticon was supposed to be a Sad. I was on the app, and wasn't wearing my glasses. Apologies.

cremolafoam · 19/12/2014 22:51

Qq that's absolutely brilliant. Well done ds! Smile

MollyAir · 19/12/2014 23:06

NU, so sorry to hear you've had to hear so much sad news this evening. Sad

QQ, great news for ds. Hope the good news continues!

Herbs, my dh came home too, manfully pretending not to be as drunk as he quite clearly is. Hilarious. I even attempted a semi-serious conversation with him before realising the extent of his inebriation.
