Just that really, what do you use to tightline? Have used a gel pencil from trish mcevoy but it doesnt stay put enough. I dont mind paying a paying a premium if it works though.

What do you use? And what brushes if you dont use a pen form. Please share x

Yes I'd like to know too! I've bought one pencil which didn't stay on, and one that you put on with a brush which is great, but leaves a line on my bottom lid itms?

I'm using this:

Benefit They're real liner

I don't like it as an eyeliner but find it good as tightliner.

hettie · 22/11/2014 23:51

L'oreal one.. It's a soft pencil

hydeparkhottie · 23/11/2014 00:13

I'm using benefits 'They're real' liner as well. I'm enjoying it actually.

Lunaballoon · 23/11/2014 07:23

Laura Mercier with a Nars angled eyeliner brush. After years of never being able to get the hang of eyeliner, I can finally get a nice close and even line that stays put.

Pootles2010 · 23/11/2014 07:32

Bourjois intuitive liner - I find it very easy, and I'm cackhanded to say the least.

Lndnmummy · 23/11/2014 07:43

Thank you all, keep them coming ;)

I've got the Clarins 3-dot liner pen. It's the only liner I've ever had that gives a good result on me. Just as well I'm not a surgeon...

ArthurShappey · 23/11/2014 08:32

What's tightlining? If you don't mind me asking?

MyMeMy · 23/11/2014 08:43

After asking a similar question on MN, I now use the Laura Mercia tighliner cake with the MAC flat brush (272 I beleive) and it's absolutely amazing!

Takes me seconds to do my top lash line, make sure there's plenty of pigment on the brush, then dab it lightly on a tissue to remove excess moisture before applying and it stays put all day.

Also, I found that it's easier to apply if I don't pull my eyelid, I just tilt my head back slightly in front of the bathroom mirror.

MyMeMy · 23/11/2014 08:45

Arthur, essentially tighlining is lining the lash line itself from below, it gives softer, more flattering definition - if you google it you'll find lots of info.

ArthurShappey · 23/11/2014 08:54

I'm going to google, I've not heard of this, thank you.

Lndnmummy · 23/11/2014 10:17

Mymemy do you use the activator with the LM cake?

What's tightlining?

Oops. Crosspost

I always end up with big globs of eyeliner in the corner of my eyes if I tight line.

coffeenut · 23/11/2014 11:28

estee lauder doublewear pencil

goodasitgets · 23/11/2014 13:03

Bare minerals round the clock waterproof eyeliner

stitch10yearson · 23/11/2014 13:16

in the 80's i used to use the local 40pence pencil to do a fantastic job of tight lining. Gave it up when I started wearing contact lenses

MyMeMy · 23/11/2014 18:21

No, I don't use the activator, it works brilliantly with water alone.

I've tried tightlinging with pencils, but the Laura Mercier cake gives a much better finish. I have the brown and the blue, you can't really tell it's blue but the colour works really well with brown eyes.

I cant recommend it highly enough!

Marcelinewhyareyousomean · 26/11/2014 08:26

I use old fashioned liquid liner. At the moment I have a Collection 2000 one in brown. I lift the lid up and put it within the lashes. if you don't get close enough you will get black blobs on your year ducts (easily sorted though). I tight line my top lids daily. For evening I add some over the top of the lashes. I still stay really close.

lovely.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 26/11/2014 14:03

I played around with some pencils and if I don't go near my tear ducts it stops being gloopy but sometimes smudges onto my inner water line on the bottom SO I've just treated myself to a waterproof L'oreal liquid felt tip pen type liner called Infallible and it looks FANTASTICGrin

So much more youthful than the liner I usually wear on the top of my lids. Can't wait for a night out wear I can wear top lines AND tightlining, I think that will look great.

I have very black lashes but I might experiment with a dark brown liner and compare the two looks.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 26/11/2014 17:07

It's lasted all afternoon,it's my new favourite product!

Lndnmummy · 26/11/2014 18:35

Damedrama,Oh really? Even tighline lasted? No smudging or on waterline? So tempted by LM but then would need the brush too so loreal would be more purse friendly.

Is it pigmented enough? I have the clarins 3 dot thingy and whilst id give it 10/10 or for ease of application the result is abit meh for me.
Also tempted by benefit push up liner bit have heard mixed reviews.

Im such a geek when it comes to these things, love hearing everyones thoughts.
