Envy Have a lovely time tonight Crepeys. Gutted not to be there….

MollyAir · 05/12/2014 14:10

Oh no, BD! I was hoping to get all the dirt on a certain uni...although part of me doesn't want to know... Hope your radiator guy comes quick and does the job!

CointreauVersial · 05/12/2014 14:26

Feeling much restored after Nurofen, tea, bacon and eggs. Now to look at train times.....

lalsy · 05/12/2014 14:33

Stropps, Flowers.

I am coming, addle is coming Grin.

I love the mashed up yr 7 look too. I remember seeing ds and mates come out at the end of yr 7 - little boys, enormous bags, muddy knees. They looked astonished to be seized and hugged goodbye by girls twice their height who seemed about five years older. The girls peered fondly down at the tops of their heads Grin. That was the year I tried to help decorate the school for an Christmas event and ds was so unashamed of me he went to get his friends to show them what I was doing with my green string [they took it all down and redid it when I had left]. I think I may be missing having a year 7.....

Blackduck · 05/12/2014 14:38

Molly PM me ;)
I only really know about two areas and I don't think your Ds is in either!
Students like it - aside from the most recent spat!

motherinferior · 05/12/2014 14:41

So you'll be having 'just the one', eh, Cointreau? Wink

lalsy · 05/12/2014 14:44

Still have half internet (technical term), not meaning to ignore anything important!

CointreauVersial · 05/12/2014 14:48

I posted my Passport application on Monday afternoon..... and my new Passport just arrived! Impressive performance, Your Maj.

hattymattie · 05/12/2014 14:49

Stropps - I can't remember what you were up to todayBlush but good luckSmile .

I would hate to be in IKEA at the moment.

MI - your glass of wine and book on the sofa sounded lovely last night. I find, these crepey days, as soon as I lie on the sofa, I tend to fall asleep no matter how good the book.

I have got vaguely organised this week and have slumped with DS who finishes early today.

bigTillyMint · 05/12/2014 14:56

CVEnvy DH applied for a renewal for DD. A couple of weeks later we got a letter asking for me to confirm that I was OK with the application. Because I applied the first time, apparentlyHmm I wonder how long till it comes back.

I am still coming tonight! I will need a stiff drink.

herbaceous · 05/12/2014 15:07

I'm still coming! Feeling mildly ropey, but no doubt will be bucked up by my crepeys. DP has been at home today, meaning that I can get there earlier! What time are we meeting, again? And is there a dress code? Should I break out my latest charity shop purchase!

bigTillyMint · 05/12/2014 15:13

Great Herbs! It's 6.30 and dress code is Father Christmas.

Grin]

Auriga · 05/12/2014 15:19

Stropps Thanks thinking of you and your DD

herbaceous · 05/12/2014 16:15

Stropps. Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit

Imagine my delight. DS's school has assemblies every Monday and Friday that parents can go to, but I could never attend due to college, teaching practice, etc. Yesterday he asked 'Mummy, are you ever going to come to one of my assemblies?'. It just so happened that I wasn't teaching until a bit later today, so went along. And he was 'star of the week'! For 'mature and responsible behaviour on the school trip' [the panto]. So he got to sit on the bench near the front, and looked shyly at me now and again.

hattymattie · 05/12/2014 16:29

OMG StroppsBlushBlush - Just remembered thanks to Herb's biscuits. I'm really sorry Thanks Thanks.

Herbs so sweet. Mine used to wave at events like thatSmile.

MollyAir · 05/12/2014 16:47

"Mature and responsible behaviour" - did you get a star, too, Herbs? Aw, what a sweet image.

I'm dressed and ready to leave, calling at the bank on the way...cup of tea, fix dh's dinner, then I'm off...

Blackduck · 05/12/2014 16:49

Ds flashed his thomas the tank engine underpants at the audience in the school nativity one year.....

Blackduck · 05/12/2014 16:51

Keep me a seat. Mines a large glass of red please!
Laters... X

herbaceous · 05/12/2014 17:25

Excellent QQ! I'm having a wardrobe quandary. Will it be warm in there, meaning a jumper dress would be unwise?

Stropperella · 05/12/2014 17:39

Thank you my very lovely Crepey friends for all your good wishes and support. The Biscuit Biscuit have been made and several have been consumed. Dd and I have had a huggy day. I am v. proud of her because the ongoing problem with the dodgy "friend" has pretty much gone public this week and is very difficult for her. We had a rather bad night on Tuesday, when despite me going off to bed early, there was an unfortunate load of high drama in the middle of the night, thanks to evil messaging from the "friend" and dd rushed off into the dark at midnight. Cue me driving round the streets in my onesie at 1am looking for her (and there are no streetlights here after midnight). Thankfully, she came back home after half an hour, but we all felt a bit rough on Weds. She was extremely wound up about this anniversary and really didn't need the needling from the "friend".
I spoke to the school at some length and, contrary to my experience with them in previous years, they are being extremely good and highly supportive. She went in late today, as she and I sat outside the school in the car talking for over an hour about life, the universe, bullying and how she's a survivor, and how coping with the crap she's dealing with now will (hopefully) help her to avoid abusive relationships in the future. And yes, there was ample opportunity to talk about her father, which is not something we do awfully much, but which proved useful and somewhat therapeutic for both of us. Her lovely tutor looked after her when she got into school and her proper friends appear to be rallying round. The HoY is also on the case. So dd came home this afternoon all ready to bake biscuits and more talking was done than usual and she is already feeling better - about many things, I think.
I am very proud, because we have both worked hard to get her into a much better place than she was this time last year. I am hopeful that we can weather whatever storms there will be between now and the end of the year - and because of the circs, there may be a few.
So, Crepeys, I'm raising a glass of rather nice Fino sherry to you all tonight. Have a bunch of Wine Wine for me and I'm sorry not to be pulling crackers with you all.

Cremo - much strength to you for this marathon weekend.
BD, hope you will get a chance for some R&R.
Herbs, treasure every moment of "mature and responsible behaviour". Grin
Rose, I showed your ds2's amazing performance to my dcs and they were wowed. Partic dd, who is rarely impressed by anything.

hattymattie · 05/12/2014 17:51

Stropps -well done for getting through today and the trauma of the week. At least the school are dealing with it and things with difficult friend can start to be addressed. Would it be worth DD leaving her phone out of her room once she wants to settle down for the night so she can sleep calmly and avoid events like earlier in the week?

May I join you in a glass of wine or two and "cheers" to the other crepeys.Wine Wine

bigTillyMint · 05/12/2014 17:55

Stropps, well doneWineFlowersWineCakeWineBiscuitWine You have indeed done a fabulous job and you should be rightly proud of yourself.

I am on the bus - left very early to escape warring teens!

CointreauVersial · 05/12/2014 18:08

Strops, gold star for Super Marvellous Parenting. You should be so proud of yourself. First time I've seen Biscuit used as a positive accolade, though. Grin

I'm approaching Waterloo, and might actually be On Time.Shock Mine's a sparkling water....
