According to the Times supplement on Saturday, skinnies are now over; boyfriend jeans are the in thing.

I can't do slim jeans they just don't feel right they are what OAPs wear here

That's slightly loose, elasticated, high waisted slim jeans. The really fitting, hoist your arse up, pull everything in types aren't so bad.

I used to love boyfriend jeans. I wore them long before I knew that that's what they were called, in my late teens and early 20s.

I wear skinnies all the time now and I find them much easier to wear - for example they don't get wet from soaking up rain water from the ground when it's raining!

I love bootcut..dont mind boyfriend but not with a saggy low arse...they look awful and flatter noone!

JubJubBirds · 07/11/2014 18:57

Green I despise bootcut. But I'm happy to stand corrected! So far though I've never seen anyone look nice in them, least of all me.

Smukogrig · 07/11/2014 19:21

no way. I look terrible in boyfriend jeans. I bought a pair, they really are so unflattering to my shape.

If skinnies are over I'll wear straight leg jeans.

BlueEyedWonder · 07/11/2014 19:31

I wear skinny, straight, boyfriend and flared. I like different looks and see jeans as a basic that never really go in or out of fashion.
I wear heeled ankle boots with boyfriends in winter. I'm 5ft nothing and size 6. Obvs I don't share the view they only suit the long of legWink

well the day the fashionable get their fashion advice out of the Times supplement will be very interesting.

LilAnnieAmphetamine · 08/11/2014 09:44

Yes I agree- The Times are about four months behind the internet. They copy all their ideas from bloggers too.

Chandon · 08/11/2014 10:00

I would say the Times write for the middle classes, mainly over 40s

Don't think young people even read newspapers, let alone take style advice from them!

I still wear skinnies and leggings as if is my dog walking uniform (live in muddy village, walk dog twice a day)

For dressing "nice" I love mini skirts with opaque tights and dresses.
