Precious I think there's two distinct types. One type is just baggy, baggy baggy all the way down and the other type is more tapered...still baggy but yes, short in the ankle.

Ginny do you know I was thinking of Gwen! She often wears them and always looks good. And she's over 40. She is my idol.

I honestly think it CAN look good on over 40s but not perhaps with a leather waistcoat and pink stilettos.

All I own are skinny jeans and treggings but I prefer those to boyfriend trousers anyway- I will stick with them for now

The good thing about fitting jeans is that they suit all sizes, if worn properly, but I think these boyfriend jeans will only be really flattering on the young and the slim.
If you're a 16 and over, forget them looking good.

They will add POUNDS.

I'm long and lean of leg and they make me look like a moose.

Okay, so age doesn't really matter so much, but all the models in the pictures are skinny and if they don't look that great in them, imagine how a slightly overweight person would look?

Stupid I bet they don't. I bet that's just your perception. If you're tall and slim that's just going to accentuate it. With the right top and footwear.

I bet people were really resistant to skinnies as well when they first became fashionable, I know i hated and avoided them for years and now I don't wear any other type of jeans!
I quite like the boyfriend jeans look as long as it's nkt too baggy or saggy..you can get slightly fitted boyfriend jeans which look really nice with ankle boots and so doable for winter

I like the looks in that link but how on earth could you recreate it in winter?!

I think they only look good where there is leg coming out of the bottom - so didn't like the pair worn over boots pic.

Mowg exactly! I love them with a nice pair of ankle boots. Needs a heel mind but does look very casual and nice when done right.

Boyfriend jeans make anyone who isn't boyfriend shaped look like a sack of spuds. I'll stick with my skinnies and be sure to stock up in the sales.

It's bad enough that culottes are coming back in fashion!
