Ewa Michalak bra sizing

Following a recent bra intervention, I've just discovered the Ewa Michalak web site (thanks Statistically) - wow!

I'd really like to order a couple, but I'm confused by the sizing - I'm a 30DD/E in some brands and a 32DD in others, so what should I be ordering? I'm happy to order a couple of sizes and return them, can anyone advise please? Thanks

Shameless bump...

Which bras are you looking at, and which bras do you wear which size in at the moment? EM tend to run snug in the band, so if you are in between I would generally go for your upper size (so a 32) although there are some exceptions. They're fabulous bras.

MyMeMy · 23/10/2014 19:41

There are some beautiful bras on the site, I particularly love the look of the 3D Szyku? plunge bra...

Thanks to you I visited Bravissimo a few weeks ago and they recommended a 32D, the Freya Deco bra fitted in that size, but I felt that the cups covered a bit too much of me even though they fitted if you know what I mean?
I ended up buying a couple from Boux Avenue in a 32DD (not brilliant tbh) and some from Lepel also in a 32DD which I do like.

As mentioned, I'm happy to order a few sizes to see which fits, I'm hoping that the returns process isn't too painful.

The returns process is fine as long as you make sure you send back the paperwork including the original till receipt!

I'd probably try a 32DD as your base size with sizes either side. The SM styles run tighter in the band as the lace doesn't stretch as much

MyMeMy · 23/10/2014 19:53

Thanks for the tip!

So you suggest trying a 32DD, a 32D and a 32E? Sorry for being a bit thick Grin Thanks

Yup, maybe a 34d too

StatisticallyChallenged · 23/10/2014 19:55

oh actually no I see you sometime wear a 30 so prob not a 34 unless an SM/3M

MyMeMy · 23/10/2014 19:55

Thank you yet again! Thanks

Apologies for resurrecting an old bra thread but I need help with sizing.

I've just done the size guide thing on their website.

Under bust tight 81cm
Under bust loose 83cm
Boobs dangling fully 97cm

It the calculator tells me I should be wearing an 80B!

This can't be right! I wear anything from a 30F, 32E and 32F depending on brand.

Can somebody offer some help with sizes and guidance on bras to try?
My favourite bras are Freya Patsy half cup and Panache Envy (although the sister bra in the range doesn't fot as well- is it Jazz?). My boobs look terrible in Deco.

ForSaleChesterDraws · 07/01/2015 10:37

Bumping for some help!

StatisticallyChallenged · 07/01/2015 10:54

The ewa calculator is useless! What sizr do you wear in the envy, and which ewa are you fancying?

ForSaleChesterDraws · 07/01/2015 11:16

Its the CHPs that I think I like. I am wearing 32F in the envy at the moment.

StatisticallyChallenged · 07/01/2015 11:35

I generally find my panache band size works Ok unless I am at the upper end of it fitting ie if the band is feeling tight. I'm guessing as you also have some 30s then you're probably more of a small 32. Cup wise, they do vary but having tried envy recently I think my em size would be the same -I wear a cup up from my Cleo bras and about the same as Freya, but found the envy snugger in the cup.

I think the 32f-70f- might be a good starting point

ForSaleChesterDraws · 07/01/2015 11:52

I think I am going to bite the bullet and order a few. I am wearing a 30FF Cleo Juno this morning though and the band is correct but I definitely have overspill on my left boob, which is the bigger, so I am wondering if a 32F might be a bit small.

StatisticallyChallenged · 07/01/2015 11:55

I'd maybe try a ff then, most of them come with removable pads which might help if it's a tad big. And they are returnable in your size

ForSaleChesterDraws · 07/01/2015 12:08

Thanks. Although now totally overwhelmed by the choice and cuts on offer! I normally try about 15 bras on at a time in Bravissimo!

StatisticallyChallenged · 07/01/2015 13:05

I've tried or own all of the cuts I think if you need help

ForSaleChesterDraws · 07/01/2015 13:59

I wish I could work out if I was top heavy/ side heavy and all the other things you read about on the Reddits, so I could describe my boobs better!

Plunges look terrible on me, Bras that come high up look terrible on me as they gape/ don't get filled up.

Pre kids I used to love Deco but now I just find I get overspill, or the next cups up gape.

I really like the four part construction of the envy. I wonder if they have anything like that?

Sorry, I am waffling.

StatisticallyChallenged · 07/01/2015 14:08

I'm guessing bottom heavy. Sometimes working backwards helps -so what bras work for you, and what bras can you think of which haven't worked -the deco is a pita in general -and if you can remember what was wrong with them?

ForSaleChesterDraws · 07/01/2015 14:41

Ok then, I've gone and had a look through the Bravissimo website

Likes
Panache Envy- my HG of bras
Freya- Patsy half cup- great bra on me
Fantasie Rebecca- I quite like this, although it is quite high cut on me
Cleo Jun- nearly there, although I am not a fan on the seams, and as I said before, the 30FF I am wearing has overspill

Dislikes
Freya Tropics and bras of that cut- the lace on the top of the cup always seems to gape
Panache Melrose- wires too wide, dig in under my arms, top half feels empty (in fact apart from the Envy, most Panache's have hideous wires that dig in to my armpits)
Bravissimo Alana balconette- was great when I first stopped BFing, but now I find that the material at the top doesn't get filled properly, however the top edge still digs in to me
Panache Jasmine- nearly there but pointy shape, prefer the roundedness of the Envy
I've never tried any Masquerade or Curvy Kate bras- when I am having a fitting they never bring them out and just tell me that they won't suit my boobs. And I buy all my bras in Bravissimo so no idea why but all the fitters have been the same.

StatisticallyChallenged · 07/01/2015 15:20

Hmmm, Ok one other thing, how far up your torso do you have breast tissue? Does it kind of finish at a defined point or sort of fade out somewhere near your collarbone, or...

ForSaleChesterDraws · 07/01/2015 15:31

Breast tissue starts from about 3/4 of an inch under my armpits, if that makes sense.

StatisticallyChallenged · 07/01/2015 15:54

Hmmm. It definitely sounds like you are full on bottom and relatively wide rooted going by the bras which work. What I am wondering is if you have relatively tall roots. For folk who are full on bottom there are two main bra shapes -your patsy half cup and juna shape which are very open st the top and have quite straight necklines, and your alana type which do have a top section but it's very closed. The thing that's making me wonder about root height is the alana, when you mentioned not filling it yet it cut in at the top. That suggests that the bulk of your breast tissue I'm at the bottom, but at least a bit continues further up. Does that make sense at all?

ForSaleChesterDraws · 07/01/2015 16:02

Yes, it does. Its like you are looking down my top!

ForSaleChesterDraws · 07/01/2015 16:16

Do we think I should try the CHPs then? Or should I try some other cuts?
