Ewa Michalak bra sizing

Following a recent bra intervention, I've just discovered the Ewa Michalak web site (thanks Statistically) - wow!

I'd really like to order a couple, but I'm confused by the sizing - I'm a 30DD/E in some brands and a 32DD in others, so what should I be ordering? I'm happy to order a couple of sizes and return them, can anyone advise please? Thanks

My boobs are revived again. Thanks for your style recommendations. I've kept
CK Juna 32G
Masquerade Rhea 32FF
Panache envy x2 (black and nude) 32
CK ritzy 30G
And I've got a panache jasmine 32f on the way too.

Thanks for the recommendation of my curves and me. I'd rather have a slightly wackier colour if ut means I save 70% off the cost of a bra that fits well.

I've ordered the Masquerades from My Curves and Me and if they aren't right, I am moving on to EMs. Another 8 ordered in total.

Returning to Poland is OK, just DON'T LOSE THE RECEIPT!!!

Another brand which might work is tutti rouge actually. I've not tried them personally as they're not my shape but I believe they run small and snug so probably 32G. The other one that springs to mind is the bravissimo branded half cups. There's also some other Panache options, like the Masquerade Angie, which could work.

Or are there other brands in the UK that I should try out first before going up into EM. Is the return postage a faff back to Poland?

So many decisions to make!

I've not tried the Ritzy but other CKs have very stretchy soft bands. I'd maybe give it a longer try on (I never wear bras for an hour when I've ordered them online before deciding, not me, nooooo...)

The Cleo Maddie runs small, so might be worth trying the G. There are some tips of the better bra campaign website about managing asymmetry which might be worth having a look at actually - you might be able to just lengthen the strap on your larger breast

I think if you are going to try EM I'd probably look at a 32G in most styles, but maybe a 75 in their see through ones (SM and HM) as the fabrics really don't stretch much at all.

It sounds like you're probably a FF/G cup in most rather than an F/FF

Ok, they have arrived and have been tried on with a scoop and swoop!

Panache Envy- I need a 32FF
CK Maddie- I think I like it best in a 32FF but not sure if I get a tiny bit of overspill on my bigger boob although I think a 32G will be too tight
Deco HC- not great, again, overspill from my bigger boob and they don't go up any bigger
CK Ritzy- my favourite shape BUT, I am not sure if I need a 32FF rather than a 32G. The 30G is very tight, but it gives good shape. Do they stretch out easily? Will I end up with a saggy bra in a few months if I go up to a 32FF? And the lace is quite noticeable under clothes.

Now I am not sure what sizes to buy from EM. Should I try mostly 70 backs? Or some 75s? And what cups? Do they run bigger or smaller than CK?

I would have ordered more but fig leaves had lots of bras out of stock in other sizes!!

That's not a big order, it doesn't count unless it's in double digits and the credit card is crying Grin

Let me know how you get on - it's always a lot of trial and error and sometimes what does and doesn't fit gives you a lot of useful info!

Awesome. You have definitely given me a lot of food for thought. I'd better get shopping.

I think you should try the CH/CHPs, and if you are looking for an unpadded then the HM. The PL has relatively tall cups, and I think it will gape at the top and outside edge. It also has very narrow wires. The S and SM are slightly less tell and fractionally less narrow, but I reckon still too tall and narrow for you.

There is a possibility that even the CHP might be a bit narrow - I think you will probably need some serious scooping to make them work initially however I know of at least one wide rooted bra lover who adores them

I'm also going to contradict Bravissimo slightly, in that I don't think they should be ruling out Curvy Kate entirely, nor masquerade really. I don't think the unpadded CKs will work, but CK do some balconette/half cut type bras which I think might work as they are good for wide breasts. They are relatively shallow but I find that they suit a lot of people who like the Patsy. However, Bravissimo doesn't carry the full range. CK run loose in the band, you'll almost certainly want a 30 and probably a FF or even a G cup

carmen longline
ritzy
tease me
If these work, other discontinued ones which still float about are entice, thrill me and Fleurty.

I'm also not convinced Masquerade wouldn't work sometimes. I have tried a fair few Masquerade balconettes, and they were far too wide for me and sort of pushed my boobs apart. Which is why they might work for you (I'm narrow rooted, close set, borderline full on top/tall roots).

For example

angie
rhea
celene

Not saying any of these will definitely work, but I'm not sure these brands should be ruled out without trying IYSWIM?

Another Cleo which might be worth a shot is the Maddie - it runs small so you might need to size up, but it's a smooth balconette. And just to throw a spanner in re the Deco - do you know there is a Freya Deco Half cup? It only goes up to an F or FF, but might be worth a look.

Do we think I should try the CHPs then? Or should I try some other cuts?

Report
ForSaleChesterDraws · 07/01/2015 16:02

Yes, it does. Its like you are looking down my top!

Report
StatisticallyChallenged · 07/01/2015 15:54

Hmmm. It definitely sounds like you are full on bottom and relatively wide rooted going by the bras which work. What I am wondering is if you have relatively tall roots. For folk who are full on bottom there are two main bra shapes -your patsy half cup and juna shape which are very open st the top and have quite straight necklines, and your alana type which do have a top section but it's very closed. The thing that's making me wonder about root height is the alana, when you mentioned not filling it yet it cut in at the top. That suggests that the bulk of your breast tissue I'm at the bottom, but at least a bit continues further up. Does that make sense at all?

Report
ForSaleChesterDraws · 07/01/2015 15:31

Breast tissue starts from about 3/4 of an inch under my armpits, if that makes sense.

Report
StatisticallyChallenged · 07/01/2015 15:20

Hmmm, Ok one other thing, how far up your torso do you have breast tissue? Does it kind of finish at a defined point or sort of fade out somewhere near your collarbone, or...

Ok then, I've gone and had a look through the Bravissimo website

Likes
Panache Envy- my HG of bras
Freya- Patsy half cup- great bra on me
Fantasie Rebecca- I quite like this, although it is quite high cut on me
Cleo Jun- nearly there, although I am not a fan on the seams, and as I said before, the 30FF I am wearing has overspill

Dislikes
Freya Tropics and bras of that cut- the lace on the top of the cup always seems to gape
Panache Melrose- wires too wide, dig in under my arms, top half feels empty (in fact apart from the Envy, most Panache's have hideous wires that dig in to my armpits)
Bravissimo Alana balconette- was great when I first stopped BFing, but now I find that the material at the top doesn't get filled properly, however the top edge still digs in to me
Panache Jasmine- nearly there but pointy shape, prefer the roundedness of the Envy
I've never tried any Masquerade or Curvy Kate bras- when I am having a fitting they never bring them out and just tell me that they won't suit my boobs. And I buy all my bras in Bravissimo so no idea why but all the fitters have been the same.

StatisticallyChallenged · 07/01/2015 14:08

I'm guessing bottom heavy. Sometimes working backwards helps -so what bras work for you, and what bras can you think of which haven't worked -the deco is a pita in general -and if you can remember what was wrong with them?

Report
ForSaleChesterDraws · 07/01/2015 13:59

I wish I could work out if I was top heavy/ side heavy and all the other things you read about on the Reddits, so I could describe my boobs better!

Plunges look terrible on me, Bras that come high up look terrible on me as they gape/ don't get filled up.

Pre kids I used to love Deco but now I just find I get overspill, or the next cups up gape.

I really like the four part construction of the envy. I wonder if they have anything like that?

Sorry, I am waffling.

Thanks. Although now totally overwhelmed by the choice and cuts on offer! I normally try about 15 bras on at a time in Bravissimo!

I'd maybe try a ff then, most of them come with removable pads which might help if it's a tad big. And they are returnable in your size

I think I am going to bite the bullet and order a few. I am wearing a 30FF Cleo Juno this morning though and the band is correct but I definitely have overspill on my left boob, which is the bigger, so I am wondering if a 32F might be a bit small.
