Mine was £48 for a wash, trim and blow dry in Derby. Not particularly high end salon.

£55 - cut, foil highlights and blow dry. Ribble Valley.

netty36 · 09/10/2014 08:49

$120 for a cut and blow dry in Wellington, NZ which is about 60 pounds... Fab salon and brilliant Maori hairdresser!!

strawberrythief1 · 09/10/2014 09:19

297 pounds!

I pay 10 and get the student to cut it (supervised and finished off by stylist) and a fraction of the price.

DidoTheDodo · 09/10/2014 11:03

I'd love to see pictures of all these hairstyles and see if we could put them in order of price!

Paddingtonthebear · 09/10/2014 11:10

£55 for full colour, cut and blow dry. Local stylish salon on the south coast but the stylists are all self employed so their rates are cheaper. Everywhere else locally has cost me £80-£100 for the same thing

Trinpy · 09/10/2014 11:15

I had a wet cut for £20. The hairdresser offered to blowdry, even though I hadn't paid for it, so I gave her a veeery generous tip! It was a really good haircut too. Normally costs between £35-50 where I live (Devon) for a cut and blowdry and it's never quite right!

Fabulassie · 09/10/2014 11:32

I go to Pierre Alexander's in Manchester (a pretty high-end salon.) I rarely get my hair cut, but I had it cut and coloured a couple of months ago and it cost £100. I think colour costs about £50. However, they do a very affordable blow-dry/style - £15, which is cheaper than the blowdry bars in the neighbourhood. Also they have excellent customer service and not only do they not seem to mind if I show up at lunchtime on a Friday wondering if they could fit me in, they will go to great lengths to accommodate me. So, I am very happy there.

chickenfajitaswithnachos · 09/10/2014 11:37

22 for a wet cut and I give a 3 tip 4 times a year.
Fringe trimmed about 6 times a year for free and I give a 2 tip.

FickleByNurture · 09/10/2014 12:41

Does everyone tip?

I'm feeling a little guilty now.

£130 for cut and roots retouching - London.

dexter73 · 09/10/2014 14:14

Fickle - I don't tip. I think £23 for 15 minutes work is quite enough!

MajesticWhine · 09/10/2014 14:26

I don't tip Fickle, it's expensive enough already. However the last time I took all three children for a haircut, one after the other, I gave a tip, I thought that was quite a test for any person.

FickleByNurture · 09/10/2014 14:59

Phew :)

£75 cut and colour. Belfast

I never tip!

KristinaM · 09/10/2014 18:28

£75 cut and highlights in the training academy of a top end salon in Scotland

The hairdresser is the supervisor/trainer so it costs more than a trainee but much less than in the posh salon

I always tip, £5 at least

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 09/10/2014 21:00

$120 for a full head of highlights, cut and blow-dry. (Canada)

takes 2 hours at least - hairdresser has a salon in her home

I tip $20 cos she's FAB and it's the going rate here (20%).

so $140 all in which is about GBP 85

LuckySaint · 09/10/2014 21:12

£35 for a cut and blow dry with the salon owner, North west.

LuckySaint · 09/10/2014 21:14

I don't tip because she's the owner, when I've used the other staff, I've tipped.
I get free fringe trims too.

PhoebeMcPeePee · 09/10/2014 22:06

£45 for cut & blowdry local salon in Kent and I don't tip at these prices plus it's the owner who cuts it (although ironically used to tip £5-10 when I paid £225 for cut & colour 10+ years ago at Daniel galvin in London Shock)

CheeseEqualsHappiness · 09/10/2014 22:13

£10 wash cut and blow dry at the home of my local hairdresser. She is amazing and so cheap for a great cut!
